      @@bobbyawaludeenyocku2819 I'm really sorry to hear how bad things are for you. I ended up loosing my job and had depression for a long time but things got better for me. My friends helped me and I work for them now. It can be hard finding like minded people but I promise they're out there. There are Facebook groups etc for support. I've had ups and downs throughout my life and when things are at their worse it feels like there is no hope, but eventually things get better. I encourage you to have hope and try to find someone local that can help or at least be a friend to you. Suicide isn't a solution. It takes away any possibility of life getting better and leaves pain for those that care. Don't give up. Keep fighting for a better tomorrow and when you feel you can't go on anymore, reach out to someone. I'm not sure what is available in your area but there are free counselling services in some places and if you're thinking about suicide it is worth trying counselling. Don't give up on getting a job either. It may take ages but I'm sure there's something out there. Please stay strong brother!

      What's your name? I also recommend Lifeline if can't talk to those closest to you: talk and share until someone or a group listens and shares with you how to cope from their perspectives. My advice is to seek out the positive instead of the negative because the positive can keep you smiling while the negative can keep you feeling drained.

    @rskissack Thanks for your comment, we appreciate your feedback. We prepared this video as part of a focused Suicide Prevention Awareness campaign in response to revised statistics from the Australian Bureau of Statistics - which show suicide is the number one cause of death for Australians under the age of 44. This is quite a shocking statistic and it’s important that people hear about it. Lifeline cares about suicide among people of all ages and genders and we answer 1,250 phone calls a day.

  • @rskissack
    @rskissack Před 14 lety

    While I'm not Australian, I very much appreciate your compassionate efforts. Respectfully, however, please consider this: those over 44 who have struggled with depression, (e.g., me), may listen to this and feel even worse! Three times you mention "under 44" in your 2 min 26 sec video - which leaves the impression, albeit unintended, that older people don't really matter to your organization. That was my immediate gut (vs. head) reaction, even if unfair. Thoughts?
