Romex should never be used in a boat

So I am sitting in an aircraft lounge waiting for my flight (for work) watching your latest instalment. It is all very serious and quiet and I burst out laughing: 'a little bit of JB weld'. That was seriously the funniest comment!!

Well, where do l begin? I previously communicated that my launch into Lake Michigan was to be May 15. All went well excepting for a torn ligament. The only reason I mention this is to hopefully brighten your predicament, it always could be worse as in my case. I’ll heal but sailing is off for possibly the rest of our short summer. Onto more important observations, electrolysis! What condition are your zincs in? Could this be the cause of your washing machines failure? This is common in ocean going vessels, not so much here in fresh water. There’s a lot published about this problem so you can research and find out what you must do before it moves on to other metal parts. I’ll end with that word of caution. As always I enjoy watching your videos, not so much the problems but I can appreciate your working through them, been there done that as all boaters have. Love your optimism, not sure I could have held on to it as long as you have. I believe the reason why is your commitment to each other first and the your combined tenacity. You make a great Captain and First Mate.

That generator is worn out, hopefully you'll get 7800 hrs on new one and you've got electrolysis issue somewhere for sure!

Try using the copper gasket maker. It’s better in water applications.

that's a lot of money but that's a lot of sail. have you checked the used sail sites? with as big as Blue Pearl is you'd have to get pretty lucky but you never know.

I know it is a warm salty environment but with that much corrosion appearing so quickly on your generator, you should double check the condition of your sacrificial anodes (zincs). They may be eaten up. I'm curious what cell service provider you use and what you use for health insurance when you are out of the US. I would like to suggest that you do a short segment in one of your videos one week showing the camera equipment, and software you use to film, post-process and edit your videos. I would enjoy seeing that because the quality of your videos is always so great.
