I have tried a hatch-open reentry on the simulator (also called reentry) and survived the reentry. I assumed the drogue and main chute unusable so I ejected from the Gemini at 20.000 feet. Got to the water but probably drowned. Maybe the physics of the program is still not completely ready (it is still havin patches made) but I did survive. Anyhow its easy to do that 60 years later
