Yeah, it would be great to live in the Netherlands. I lived there before I was younger, and my sister still lives there. However, if you aren't a rocket scientist from the Middle East or Africa, you must jump through 100’s hoops and pray that you will be allowed in. Ordinary people aren't allowed to move to countries in Europe.

Warning: Please do not move here at all. Do not even think about it. The country is full. We do not want entitled expats who refuse to learn the language and do not like local traditions like Zwarte Piet. There are no more houses. The house you take you take from a Dutch person. We have a severe housing shortage. You buying or renting a house results in higher prices for regular Dutch people who may not be as rich as you are or have a nce rich daddy like you have. Do not bitch about anything. Dont like it? Move somewhere else. Do not indulge in drugs. Even though some are tolerated it doesnt mean you should over indulge. Same goes for visiiting hookers Be respectful. The weather here is horrible, Typical dutch weather is rainy/foggy /overcast/ cold/wet/drizzly. It is miserable. Some months you will not see the sun at all. If you like nice weather move to California; Spain; Italy etc. Spain and Italy are also cheaper and the food is much much better. The Netherlands is a culinary desert. Carp food. People here have no idea what is good food. You will not get good sushi; chinese food; or any food except snack bar food. Taxes: Everything is taxed. If you are dead or not you pay tax. If you have no money or income: you pay tax. Taxes we need for stupid government programs , " refugees" ( they are not) and to pay civil " servants" who do not do anything all day. If after all of this you still decide to come and live here I would suggest yu check in to a good Nut House. There are many here.

Does anyone in the Netherlands live in a single family home with a yard and garage? Or do nearly all people live in these huge apartment buildings?
That's a good question! In general, people here definitely live smaller than they do in the US, for instance! Where are you from?
America. I live in a home with a forest in the back, 3 and 1/2 bathrooms, three bedrooms, basement, central air conditioning and heat, sump pump, garage, driveway. 14 trees in our yard, plus the forest, many birds and sometimes deer visit. So what is wrong? The government of the USA is completely corrupt. Elections can not be trusted. If I was young, I would leave. Italian American - ancestors from Florence.
Its common in a city to live in a appartement, the area surrounding the bigger citys are single family homes most of the time. Commenly knows as ''rijtjes huizen'' or ''rowhouses''. Isnt it common in the US that the houses are detached houses? No other house attached to it.

@@qixxor2075 hi! Some people (from the EU) who haven't been here for five years yet are still eligible to vote. I myself do speak Dutch, but there are many who don't or are not proficient enough yet to follow a complex debate in Dutch. That is why we organized this event.

I'm Dutch. I used to attend Utrecht University. I was an International Law Student. I would have graduated in December 2021 with a master's degree. Unfortunately, because The Netherlands does not believe in laws to mandate head protection, I fell off my bicycle on August 10th, 2021, and passed away on the 11th at 22.03. I sustained brain bruising, swelling, and pressure that couldn't be relieved. I was only 23 and born on November 22, 1997. My name was Lara.

Utrecht is the oldest city in Holland toghether with Nijmegen.it is very close to Amsterdam.big and beautiful.it is rapidly growing.people are smart and honest a good atmosphere to know yore self better than any place in the Netherlands.
