Anymore videos on the impala? I'm restoring a 2 door 69 impala and trying to do the wiring harness now. Everything carpet and seats is stripped so I need to get the harness done before I go on to them. Thanks for the dash video though!
Well , my dash finally cracked.. dont know when as I've always had a cover for it. My screw up was not applying Vaseline to keep it moist and prevent cracking. I've always done it, except I went brain dead since I parked it in 2001 and started driving it this year. Was fine when I restarted driving it.. should have applied Vaseline then.. 😢
I need help on removing the plastic lens from the instrument panel. Its dusy behind the lens makes it hard to see my gauges. Any idea how i can remove the plastic cover from my gauge cluster?
I tried and this dash is probably the worst to work on. Best I can tell is you need to remove the entire cluster. It bolts in underneath and somewhere in the back in a few spots. You would need to unplug everything and drop it out as one piece. Wish I could find an old body shop manual with details
1973 was the first year for those Chev & GMC square body models. They were produced up through 1991 except for the regular cab pickups like that one there because they were discontinued before that year. In 1987, the half ton & three quarter ton ones were the first to go, & in 1989, the one ton ones were next in line to go.
Was guessing the screws where inside there but the clips was a very good info to have. This is making my A-pillar cover installation way easier . Cheers from Sweden
@Kyle Frazier my rubber and windshield was original, so I replaced both. In most cases buytl it brittle and you can pop the windshields right out. The rubber can be a pain when it shrinks over time
Are the instrument cluster lights at the top of the cluster? My 70 is pretty dim at night so I want to upgrade to LED and couldn't reach my hand up under the dash. This helps. . Thanks for posting it!
I'm glad u put this up. I got a caprice and want to change that dash speaker guess I gotta take the dash out. Nobody really got 69 impala or caprice vids. Thanx

Should have finished the dash while the windshield was out

Thanks! Finally getting around to replacing the pad on my 1968 Impala. I’ve only had 25+ years to replace it. This video was a huge help.
Very helpful my cash just cracked this week and I was frantic over the prospect of removing it to see if it could be repaired. Thanks for the video
