How much money did you spend on the two compressors the external tank all the fittings and the hose? Then how much time did you spend rigging it all up? Is it really worth it when you could of just bought an air compressor new for 1100 with 13cfm plenty enough for a plasma cutter. Or buy a good used one for 400 bucks. I like to see people modify stuff but unless it's making something 10times better it's not worth it. Now if you put 6 of those compressors motors all going into one big 80 gallon tank rather than a bunch of small ones for space you just made a compressor with over 40 cfm and no matter how much time you spend making it it's OK because it's better than what you can buy.
@@awfab3517 I got the compressors used. At the time I think maybe $200 for both. The air tank was free. Fittings and line were less than $50. We all start somewhere and often times it’s at the bottom. Some of us simply don’t have the money to put $1100 into a big compressor. Not to mention I got years of service out of that setup and then sold it all for what I had in it and upgraded to a large 220v 2 stage 80 gallon compressor, air dryer and regulator, refrigerated air dryer and complete shop air plumbing. All new stuff. But again we all have to start somewhere.
Bro you are genius 😍 which controller you used for this machine?
@@lsambrexi6173 thank you! It was a generic parallel port break out controller off of Amazon. I believe it was a 5 axis controller really simple and cheap.
@@HaslipCycleWorks Thank you for your response. Is it possible to do without the Arduino then?best regards
@@lsambrexi6173 absolutely as long as your computer has usb or parallel port you should be good.

Outstanding video. Thanks for the video. Iv had one of those compressors for over 15 years and now I’m hoping to get more out of it. Thanks
do you offer plans for making this table?
@@ttcnc3755 I do not, however @yeeticoolers on Instagram bought this table and was talking about designing a kit. You may want to reach out to him and see what he is planning on doing.
One year since the loophole closed. :(( lmk if anyone has another way
One thing I keep coming across is using something like dirt legal. They have a process that uses another loophole. A trust in Nevada I think. I’ve been looking at it and thinking about trying it and doing another video, just haven’t got around to it yet.
@@HaslipCycleWorks they said I need to drive from SC to Montana to get it to work🤣 ima move to NC
So by just changing the wire and boot makes a difference? Or also the coil needs to be change for more power like the ones on Amazon or its just the wire ?
No real noticeable difference to be honest. Just lasts longer and lost way better. Also making your own gives you the option of the length and how you want to route it.
bung-king is not exactly a website i want to be found in my web history.. lmao. also geez my guy not trying to be rude or anything but was your first project to put those extra wishbone holes in your table?! i bet that was fun to drill through or at least you found out quickly that it wasn't going to be.. lol. i enjoyed the video thanks
What thickness of tube does he use to build these mini bikes?
The original doodle bug frame was pretty thin. I don’t have the bike anymore so I couldn’t go check it. Anything I build now is 1” OD with at least a 0.083 wall.
i guess i’m to late😢
Here in 2024 this doesn't work any longer. I hear Ohio has a same situation but I haven't checked.
Correct I have a pinned comment stating the VT loophole is closed. Seems to be the case all over. Dirt legal.com is using a process to title vehicles but I have yet to figure it out or try it. When I do I definitely post a video to share the process and experience.
I’m not seeing your pinned comment. Thanks
@@HaslipCycleWorksthanks I may try this. That say it needs to be older than 2013
@@SFLACZA I updated the video description to include the closing of the loophole.
I just replaced broken reed valve on mine, still runs non stop will only make small amount of air.
Replace the check valve as well.
@@HaslipCycleWorks Thanks
Did you use air or argon for your cutting gas?
Compressed air.
Cool bike Rob..enjoy it !
🎉🍻
That is a sweet setup!! I have to make one of those. I am upgrading my Harbor freight to a most excellent sand blaster and then I will be converting it to a vapor honing box....Thank you for sharing this awesome build. I need a 3-D printer!!!
Love this tool, just got one myself! You probably have a lot more experience than I, but in my limited experience, I would be mindful forcing it to cut that much off that fast, I had the chamfering bit pretty much grenade on mine by doing that haha
Z axis needed for the torch?
I was going to add it, but it ran a while without it. New owner added one with torch height control.
@@HaslipCycleWorks where did you get the bearing carriers for x and y axis?
@@kerryholt7102 I found them On eBay as a kit.
@@HaslipCycleWorks what did you search to find them, I've had no such luck
@@kerryholt7102 cnc carriage if I recall.
I found a 20 year old bike but it's 1000cc would that still work for a 2000 suszuki 1000su
Unfortunately VT closed this loophole. Unless you are a resident of VT it won’t work. Next best thing is to use a service like “Dirt Legal”.
One of the dangers of PEX is that if it is not well secured and in the open it can whip around worst that Indiana Jones if a connection blows open. I've used PEX in air systems in places where the PEX is threaded through holes drilled in the studs and covered with sheetrock or plywood. Otherwise PEX is great. For outlets, you can get brass drop ear elbows with PEX connections.
You're gonna have water at all your drops.
I’ve seen some of your work on Instagram and it looks great! I have a question, How do you connect the two pieces of metal? Keep up the great work!
Thank you! I really appreciate that. I use E6000 adhesive to bond the separate pieces together.
Im here in 2024 😔
Sorry. Vermont really screwed us over. Apparently there is a way to go through Montana with a trust? Not sure how DIY it is though.
hi can u sell plsma procject?
Where is the finished product????
Sitting in storage waiting to be finished lol.
@HaslipCycleWorks come on . This is one of a kind build and I want to see how it works...
@@dwaynerozier2422 I’m with you. It’s just a case of out of sight out of mind. I need to get a few projects out of the garage to make room to bring it in from storage. It will make a return.
If there is ever an ugliest air line installation in the Olympic games this installation would win a gold medal.
That’s real nice. Let’s see yours then.
Such an amazing tool to have in your arsenal. I can watch that thing cut all day. The signs look great and it is really cool to be able to see the progress from start to finish.
Thank you 🙏
Nice! I need to get a table. I’m just not great with computers and I’m worried the learning curve will be overwhelming. 🤷🏻♂️
Depending on which one you get and what you want to make with it, it’s not too hard. There is a learning curve for sure but if this old dog can figure it out so can you.
🤯👊🏾💪🏾🫶🏾
Very nice
Good video, thank you. I’ve been searching for a diagram of the exact way it goes together. I have all the parts but not sure the order of reassembly. What order did you put back together? Starting from the compressor itself, cylinder, then one thick metal spacer that has the indentation for a reed valve, then the other thick metal spacer to hold the other reed valve, then thin metal gasket then the head? In your video, that thick metal piece came off with the cylinder head, but when you reassembled it, it looked like you were just putting the head over all the parts, lining up the holes, and bolting back together? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, as I have reassembled it a few times, and it still doing the same thing. Turns on, makes a groaning sound, but does not start.
Thank you! Unfortunately, I do not recall the assembly order and no longer own these compressors. If I did, I would take one apart and send you pictures. I tried jumping on google to find a parts diagram but have come up empty so far.
@@HaslipCycleWorks thank you. Found one on Reddit. Got it going, but now it only hits about 80 psi, then keeps running.

@@HaslipCycleWorks thank you so much gonna be making my street legal build Thursday
@@hrx_cola7753 sweet!
How has pex worked for you? How much PSI are you running?
It worked fine for me while I was at the old house for a few years. Normal psi was 125. Now in the new shop I went with a rapid air kit and love it.
I just buy a used one, but it not going pass 40 psi, what could be the possible cause
The 3 items covered in this video could be the cause. It’s cheap insurance to replace all three especially on a used compressor.
@@HaslipCycleWorks I might have to change the gauge and pressure switch also
I wonder if I leave it to full up and the gauge still shows 40 psi. Can it blow up over pressure? Because I think the guage is the problem
@@brian13873 I wouldn’t do that just to be safe. One of mine did the same thing. It would run and run and not go over a certain point. I replaced the 2 valves and the reeds and it worked perfectly after that.
I will keep you posted when i change the two parts @@HaslipCycleWorks

Cant do this anymore in Vermont ,, unless ur.state approves of the title.
Correct. I made that a pinned comment. I’m hoping other loopholes open up and I can share them with you all.
@@HaslipCycleWorkshow can you tell if your state approves??
Has anybody done this for NC? 😅 I need this.
Vermont closed the doors on this. Unless you live in Vermont it no longer applies.
@@HaslipCycleWorks oh man! Thanks for the reply.
@@leona14layou can get a loophole in NC
My Air Compressor's max air pressure is 175 psi. Will PEX B handle that pressure? Thanks in advance.
I never went over 120 psi. But I cannot recommend pex for your situation. I would go with something like rapid air. That’s what I’m running in the new garage and I absolutely love it.
@@HaslipCycleWorks Much thanks!
Take it easy on the 5 year old Chinese child that put that compressor together! I think he did a great job for only being 5 years old and working 23 hrs a day in a sweat shop! He only forgot one important part! 🤣 I give ya credit though for working with what ya got and rolling the dice. You are a better man than me! Glad to see it worked out for you. …just curious…how much were these compressors new? I used the same harbor junk compressor that came with the used blast cabinet I bought off a guy as a holding tank. I ran the compressor one time and didn’t feel like wearing double ear protection so I won’t ever plug that Chinese death trap in! I’m still trying to wrap my head around him actually sand blasting with (one) of these grenades for 10 years and never upgrading!!! I think he just plugged the compressor in, filled his hands full of media, and threw it at what he was working on.
Hahaha I have since upgraded to a Quincy 60 gallon 2 stage. First thing I noticed was how quiet it was and how fast it filled compared to the HF units. It got me by but I’m glad those days are behind me.
I bought an identical used harbor junk blast cabinet and compressor off a guy for a heck of a deal. I still don’t understand what he was thinking when he bought that compressor. I have no idea how he blasted for 4 years with it. These harbor junk compressors are as loud as open long tube headers on a 454 big block😵
Nice. Add more weight (metal) or extension to the top pieces to stabilize the jig.
Gonna be so clean!
Fingers crossed. Trying to stretch it and keep the proportions right so it doesn’t look funky lol.
@@HaslipCycleWorksno worries! you got a good eye for that stuff. To me that frame shape can handle more stretch
Right on man! Excited about this one for sure. You keep raising that bar ever higher with each build. 🔥
Thank you brother! Got to push yourself out of your comfort zone to grow. At least that’s what I’m telling myself lol.
@@HaslipCycleWorks That is where the growth comes from. Always have to push forward.
The Mini Big Wheel😉😎
Sick project Rob. This thing will be awesome!!
Thank you Terry! I’m definitely taking my time planning this one out. Lots of modifications to get that motor to fit.
Thanks for your time and making this video. I've got a bench top cabinet from tractor supply. I struggled with material feed problems a lot in the beginning. I got so frustrated that I filled the cabinet up with glass media to almost the top of the screen. That solved my problem.HOW EVER... The media would build up around the sides of the cabinet and I would have to scoop it back into the center... Its a table top cabinet...not very deep... I'm sure with the free standing cabinet there's more capacity and the media hopper sides are angled much more...I'm thinking more media is going to be your fix to keeping your pick up under the media. Thanks again for the video.
A million thanks. You saved me a ton of time.
I am not a fan of bluing, hot or cold. Blued steel rusts just as readily as unblued. Think not? Ask any gun owner if he's ever seen a neglected blued gun after a rainy/snowy hunt.
Looks great Rob . Can't wait to see more projects being made on it ...
I definitely have some plans! Thank you Terry!
