For those interested, all the pedals from this video are linked in the video description.
Early in the video there is a cable plugged into the thru-put side of the DI .. then it's missing when you explain your routing. I'm curious about how you would use the loop in the DI on this board. Frankly it seems a bit complex for an acoustic board. I'm intrigued and acknolwedge that it's cool but I'm not quite sure I'm following the justification for the additional loop for the expression pedal when the effects are switchable. I also admit that I fast forwarded and jumped around a lot - so please forgive me if you covered it fully and I missed it - it's a good video just a bit sloooooow (to me).
The DI is just the XLR out. The expression pedal (with my effects in the loop) allows me to adjust volume + effects in a single movement without having to look down while playing live. I can feel the expression pedal and adjust smoothly when I switch from fingerpicking and strumming with a pick. That's the main purpose: effects off and lower volume when strumming, effects on and higher volume when finger picking.
Such great insight! Thank you so much for sharing!
This is so wonderful. Thank you so much for the great insight and wonderful ideas! It is very helpful how you break it down into topics or categories. That really helps with applying it into our own lives for sure! Thanks, again! :)
Glory to God 🙏 for a great revelation
Strongly agree with your point! Thank you brother! I liked your videos and recommended to others. May your channel reach to more churches and leaders. It’s a blessing through what you have taught.
For me praise is simply a form of worship. Worship can take many forms (praise, praying, reading the Bible, bowing/kneeling in reverence) You can praise worldly things the same as you can worship worldly things. You said the song is a vehicle which I believe is one of the best ways to describe the relationship between praise and worship.
The "Church" "Clergy" and the likes have been OBSOLETE since 1844-1863, it called the BAHA'I ERA. If only "The TRUTH" mattered.
The new stuff just doesn't seem to have much depth.
Not every song needs to be deep imo. Allowing people to praise and worship comfortably and freely is just ultimate goal. I find a comfortable blend of both works best
Emotionally manipulating people through MUSIC🎉 it's not Jesus you worship but yourself
The Pitt is open for you😮
Amen
You're more on traditions like your idolatry which is against God's commitment... Mk 7:9And He said to them, You nicely set aside the commandment of God that you may keep your tradition.😂😅
🗣FACTS!!🔥🔥
Presented? No. If communion is being taken for granted that’s a heart problem that’s a you problem. Not something that everyone else has to change to make it more appealing to someone. there is no reason why it should look different from place to place.
After spending 34 years in a religious cult, I renounced religion and determined to simply cultivate a relationship with Jesus Christ. Now, if anything starts happening by rote, I purposely stop doing it and contemplate it, and force my actions to be spontaneous and with down to earth realness. I pray I am never sucked into religion at the expense of my freedom in Christ again.
Respect EVERY RELIGION BTW Please Pin I'm first
This video deserves an award for its exceptional storytelling.
Ew. I absolutely hate how Christian men act like caged animals that can’t stay away from sexual assault unless there’s someone to “hold them accountable.” God doesn’t want to control his followers all the time, be a big boy.
What about someone who is just getting into the church? Do you still judge them the same way?
AMEN!! My denomination doesnt consoder that when choosing leaders.
At my church, we have a services for modern worship and one for traditional worship. modern worship pastor's dad runs the traditional worship. The modern worship pastor's best friend from childhood is the lead Pastor. So a lot of people at my church know that there is a tight bond amongst the elders of the church. Jeff, our modern worship pastor will fill in for our lead Pastor at times is often tasked with difficult subjects to preach on and usually (using a baseball term), knocks it out of the park. I can really respect that. Also weather or not it's practiced, I can see Jeff (as a tech team camera man) seemingly singing with a smile on his face. You can see that he's true and coming from the heart. Jeff's ad also preaches on occasions as well as our youth pastor and one of our senior elders. It sounds cliche as a Christian, but If you are sincere about what you do, people will see Jesus in you.
thank you god for your help
Profound
Praise worship prayer draws God's closer to you
Amen
This is awesome and helpful. Pls upload some more acoustic guitar tutorials
Thanks Zac, slow but steady playing progress in your tutorials😊
Hi Zac, I am giving it another go. I think because I am over 50 and have no music talent or history this is a big challenge. I originally purchased a classical guitar and had no success playing psalm tutorial videos. Now I am just working on this video and finger picking video. Playing 2-3xday and just repeating same stuff. It is much less stressful and I do see that I am hitting the chords with less hesitation. I hope to revisit the psalm tutorials end of the month and I am thinking about getting a steel sting so I can use the cut capo. I only found full capos for classical guitars and I mostly want to play your psalm songs. hoping at some point to add more finger picking in, because I just love the gentle beauty of that sound. Thank you Zac, thanks be to God for worship music and psalms. Like with Saul they quiet the restlessness and push back evil. Thank you GOD!
Keep on practicing! It will come! No need to use a steel string guitar for the Psalm songs. Nylon strings are easier on the fingers if you don't have callouses built up. Just purchase two classical guitar capos like these: a.co/d/1GlahAx You can easily use a razor blade to cut the rubber from portions of the 2nd capo to make your own cut capo. Cut out a section to let the low E string ring out and also the highest two strings. Just make sure to measure properly so the cut capo will still cover the right strings up to the 5th fret (or 7th if you're wanting to play Psalm 150). You could also use a hack saw to cut off the excess metal if you want, but it's not necessary. I hope that helps!
@@IntentionalWorshipLeader Thanks Zac! I bought a real nice steel string, and am making notable progress with switching chords, with capos, but I much prefer that gentil forgiving classical, so i am excited to get those! I am paying more attention to the drum (like you said in a different helpdul reply) and it certainly does help me grab on to the rythm and notice when i strum out
Thanks so much for that. I would have loved you to spend a little more time on worship. I love how the New Testament shows how our an outward evidence of our heart/spirits worship is work. Acts 13:2. We can worship God all the time. As our spirit is evident in the truth of our outward witness/action. John 4.24. God bless Thanks again.
I've been using a Sonicake Wood for two years now, works great, small and compact, built like a tank, the preamp doesn't over color my tone, and it's got all the effects I need right there on the floor. My only complaint about the Sonic Wood, is that I wish they would have put an effects send/return on it. The Sonicake Sonic Wood is right on par if not better than the NUX Stageman Floor in my opinion, for value and price vs. performance.
Hello! How does the M5 work with the acoustic guitar? Could u make a video playing with both?
The M5 is a decent stompbox effects modeler, but there are likely better units out there more tailored for acoustic guitar. You should be able to hear the reverb effect in. this video when I finger pick. For me, I use the effects sparingly... like just a bit or reverb and occasionally delay for fingerpicking. You can only use one effect at a time, which is limiting. If you want something that's more of an all-in-one unit, the Line 6 Helix does a better job, but is quite a bit more money.
@@IntentionalWorshipLeader thank you for answering. I bought a zoom a1xfour nowadays, i will try it and compare. I think that is a good option if i have just one device. I want to get a similar pedalboard in the future. Thank you again for the answer.
Should look at the TC Helicon Play Acoustic. Has all those pedals covered in one unit.
Hi there, for iPad Pro, how are you connecting USB-C into your sound system? Thanks!
Thank you so much for this, as an artist and musician for many years in the commercial world, I loved hearing your teaching on how to become a worship leader.. as much as music is involved in both, they are two very different routes in music. With worship, we aren't performing or building an audience of spectatorship/ entertainment but indeed we are leading people in worship to our loving creator King and God almighty! So amazing... Im desperately trying to cut off the years of"entertaining mode" to pure worship leading..ur video is awesome. thx
Thank you so much for your priceless Training videos. Really a blessing! May the good Lord reward you for such a huge input in building His Church
Looking for advice:) this is great. What about someone who asks to audition but plays an instrument you don’t usually use, like saxophone, flute, or French horn, etc? What do you say, ? I like to be inclusive but these do not feel like a good fit for our church style.
Yeah, I’ve wrestled with those scenarios too. I usually am just straight forward with people. I’ll let them know that those particular instruments might be difficult to fit with our church’s musical style, but there may be room for these unique instruments for special songs or special services. It takes a little more work and some creativity to find a place for people to use the musical gifts God gave them it our church’s musical context, but I think you’ll find it rewarding on several levels when you can make that work as much as possible. Here’s one example: we had a really gifted flute player wanting to serve. I never found a place for her to serve on a Sunday morning, but I asked her to play Christmas melodies before and after our Christmas Eve services in the lobby. She loved the opportunity and the people loved it too. That become somewhat of a tradition for several years.
Always nice to see the M5 on boards. It's not the greatest sounding pedal on earth but I've always found it useful. I built an Arduino pedal for mine that switched presets and also could do a virtual expression pedal just by pressing a switch.
Thanks for sharing!
🔥🔥🔥
Clear and easy ! That's the best, isn't it ?
It looks like you're using a passive volume pedal, can you confirm?
Sorry, I missed this comment until now. Yes, passive volume pedal, but I use it as an expression pedal, not a volume pedal.
How do i as a worship leader lead a congregation into worship with no musical instruments
In the meantime, you can definitely still lead without instruments. Search for musicians in your congregation. There are usually some people with some basic guitar or piano abilities. If no one arises, then it's time to start learning to play an instrument yourself :-)
Yu
Hi, can you give the list of your pedals? Thank you
Just now finished the 1st course. This is very helpful. 😇
I like your tone with your board. Thanks for sharing your work! Liked and subscribed!
Hi great info, but how does the TC HELICON PLAY ACOUSTIC VOCAL PROCESSOR PEDAL compare to your set up, Cheers
I have no idea, I've never owned the other pedal.
Would you mind providing a link for the input jack leading to the exterior of the board?
Can you provide info/dimensions of how you built that actual pedal board?
Here's some build pics for starters. I purchased a DIY pedalboard electronics kit from Reverb too, but the board itself was all original from scratch. I'll need to check later for measurements. drive.google.com/drive/folders/1OFqgFSQJGMozGkydEHGD4DdAUykRp1kK?usp=sharing
