Thank you
Done this last spring but slept in the tent. :D Thx for the movie, so many memories.
So did I, I hiked it early February. Camped 1st night just before Tunte, Then stayed in Cruz de Tejeda the 2nd night before getting the Ferry to carry on the GR131 through Tenerife. Gran Canaria is so special isn’t it
Two weeks ago we also walked the track GR221.........it was so amazing. Well done👍
It really is an amazing trail. I’m back there tomorrow for the Galatzo trail Marathon and I’ll definitely be back for the GR221 again this year also!
Hi, I'll be hiking this trail in March. What sleeping pad did you use, or what r-value range would be appropriate? Thanks!
Hi there. I think I used the Thermarest neoair with has an R rating of 4.5 and a 350g cumulus sleeping bag. Both nights I camped I slept at high altitude and was fine.
I used to live in Lanzarote and have watched probably thousands of videos of all different aspects of it, but this one hits differently. The chilling music added to the already phenomenal scenery gives off such a spiritual and soul cleansing vibe. Thanks for sharing your adventure in such a beautiful way 🙏
Hi Mark. This is such a lovely comment to receive 😄 Thank you so much for your kind words and I’m glad you enjoyed the video.
Where are did you camp?
Your fitness is far beyond my own, I'm. Planning on taking 6 days to complete this walk. What mapping system did you use ? I'm thinking "all trails" app
I’ve replied to your comment on the other video.
I'm going in April, can you give me some tips on things you wished you might have known before going ? Also mapping did you use and how best to plan each days leg ?
If I was to do it again I would probably stop In Sexial the first night, 3000m of elevation from Porto Moniz - Estequinos campsite was a lot, but it was also July and 30+ degrees when I did it. from Casa De Abrigo at the top of Pico Ruivo it was all very straight forward and easy going for the rest of the way into Machico. I would highly recommend Encumeada hotel, great value and a very good all you can eat buffet. I used “All Trails” for my navigation.
Quality 👌🏻
Thank you 🙌
Thanks for sharing this great video. We are going back this week.
You’re welcome David, I’m glad you enjoyed it. I’m currently in Gran Canaria on the GR131 so look out for the next video soon 😄
Hi, nice vid! Thx! Can u give the second hostle? 😊
Yes of course, Casa De Hilario in Yaiza
Great vid! Heading to Lanzarote in a few months to continue ticking off the GR131. Did you spot many camping opportunities? Also, did you do 3 days instead of 2 purely because of the ferry timings? I'm a fairly strong walker but wondering how long it's going to take me. Thanks in advance!
Thanks Jonty! Glad you enjoyed it. Yes it was really only to be able to get a good crossing and a bit of chill time in Corralejo before setting off again. although 2 days would have been a bit of a push i think with filming as well. In terms of suitable pitches, not really. I found it very difficult to find anywhere on Lanzarote, not sure if you’ve watched my Fuerteventura video but that easy camping with the trail shelters.
@@Valhalla_adventures Great info, thanks! Will watch your Fuerteventura vid anon 👍
Another great video, have Mtb alot of the North of FVT fantastic place.👍👏👏
Thank you Paul, I’m glad you enjoyed it. I’m on Gran Canaria at the moment, lots of Mtb here on my first day from Maspalomas
Nice video great scenery.👍👏
Thanks Paul
Nice video
Thank you
Great route. We start our mtb rides here travelling to el cotillo then down the west coast. Love everything about the place.
Beautiful island isn’t it. I thought to myself on both of these islands how ideal they are for cycling. At least 95% of the GR131 was on a track.
LOVE the skyline in the opening few seconds Dan, It is amazing. You have done a brilliant job with the photography, editing and vocals. Thank you for sharing 😀
Thank you David! I really appreciate your comments and I’m glad you enjoyed it! Have you watched Fuerteventura yet?
Hi. That is breathtaking scenery, and well captured. The drone footage is amazing. And what a tough trail to do, with lots of elevation and distance to cover. Nice one 👍
Thanks for Watching Andrew and I’m glad you enjoyed it. It is a very tough route, especially the first couple of days.
Nice Video. You captured your trip nicely. All the best 👍
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! This is my favourite island so far
Another great video Dan. Lots of parts that I would never dared to attempt even in my younger days, Well done mate :)
Thank you, really loved this one. my favourite island!
Oh Dan this is just unbelievably breathtaking scenery and a well put together video. You should be so proud of yourself, can't wait for part 2.
Hi David. Thank you for your kind words. I’m glad you enjoyed it. Part 2 will be up this evening.
Omg, simply heavenly beautiful! Absolutely beautiful place and so lovely hiking tour, simply enjoyable content my friend!
Thank you very much. I really appreciate the feedback. Part 2 will be up this evening hope you enjoy that too!
Hey bro not watched yet, but did you encounter many people while sleeping etc? Watching it now sure it’ll bang ✅
A couple of other hikers on the same route camped near me on the first night, but no other encounters with people after that. Hope you enjoyed the video
Thanks for the nice impression. Tomorrow starts my Journey on Gr221😊
Good luck!
Great video, planning on doing it in October, how long did it take you to complete it?
it took me 5 days. It was a bit to rushed if definitely recommend doing it over 6. Best of luck with it.
@@Valhalla_adventures Thanks!!
Great video. Like Nicola I’ll be hiking GR221 starting 13/04. Are there any parts that are completely closed? Also where are the chain walk parts? Many thanks
Thank you. Take a look at my reply above regarding the fallen trees. The chains are between the Reservoir and Tossel Verds
@@Valhalla_adventures Great, should be fine. Much appreciated Valhalla. Cheers 👍🚶🏽♂️
Hi Thanks for the video! Were there any parts fully blocked by fallen trees? Heading to Mallorca this week
The final stage between Lluc and Pollenca the obstacles became more substantial with lots of fallen trees and the trail fully blocked, i found it be manageable and found alternative routes around each part but I would only recommend if you’re able-bodied and you should definitely allow extra time for this as well.
Nice work. Thanks for the beta on conditions!
Thank you.
Love the mirror wave Dan 🙏🏽🤣
Glad you liked it 😅
