The way she wears yellow stands out as the colours surrounding her are dark and gritty she reminds me of an earth Angel who's purpose is to bring hope for others her posture isn't like the others seen in the painting she is going into battle dress torn flag raised she too is disheveled with sweat and dirt however, her placement centred on the piece is indicative she is the main theme - regardless of its history and politics it's one of my favourite paintings!
