Battery Range tests Great for me
I Rode my Magicycle twice today in order to deliberately put miles on it and to drain the battery down to about 50% in order to come up with baseline Range of my bike. The results were great. At 26.5 miles I still had 45% battery!

I have a millenium eboard but don't have the original Chessmaster game. Do i really need the original game? i've tried using a cracked version and i can't make it work...
Worst equalizer out there, the display is useless and comical.
I didn't like it much either
Nice board and pieces. You got a great deal on both. Thanks for showing it off to us.
I’ve sponsored scholastic chess clubs for 25+ years. I’ve had a lot of experience fixing loose weights in these types of sets. I’ve found that hot glue works best. It is flexible like you suggest and dries fast. Doesn’t make a mess like super glue, no need to wait for it to cure overnight like E600 or something similar. However, there is a caveat, hot glue expands as it dries. If you use too much the plastic will crack. So you only need very little bit to attach the weight, and even less for the felt. Too much hot glue cleans up well with a pocket knife.
I’ve never played Nine Men Morris nor Backgammon. I play Chess, checkers and dominoes a lot though. That’s a great looking game table you’ve’ e built. Good review, I have a couple HOS sets in natural and black and natural and red. I do like that maroon / burgundy color that HOS uses. Even though I suspect it is crimson, because HOS is based in Alabama.
I saw the key in 2 seconds. Nice Zugzwang
Dg7! es la jugada que da mate en 2

Square sizes, mister? Nice DIY project.
2 and a quarter inch, I think. It's been a couple years so I'm not positive.
@@PatrickFestaPatman So should I take it you don't have the table anymore? They seemed bigger than the usual 2.25". I'm yet to find a video with the 4-inch king and a regular 20" x 20" board.
I have had a change in my life..The table and all or most of my chess sets are in storage and I no longer live in NJ.@@antilogis6204
@@PatrickFestaPatman I hope it's all for the better. Thanks for the heads-up.
Now that I think about it; I may have made the squares 2.5 inch, giving the board a 20 inch total from square end to square end. Forgive my forgetfulness as it has been a couple years. But the table top chess/nine mens morris board, the multi color chess pieces and 95% of my possessions reside in a storage unit in NJ. while I now live more than 1000 away. hopefully I'll be reunited with my stuff in the not too far off future.
Heck with mate. Q captures R, check.
Thanks Patrick. I've been considering a set of those for months and months. Thanks for sharing your critique. Real shame the board is not larger and illuminated from below.
Hi Pat! No new videos in a while, hope you are well. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Where can i buy the same set you have? I can't find it anywhere
I don't remember if it was American chess equipment or house of Staunton. Both online catalogs.
I found it. Here's the link. amchesseq.com/products/bobby-fischer-ultimate-chess-pieces-with-new-and-improved-weighting-system
Patrick, thx for getting back to me. I saw this link already. However, the link shows the version 3. I think in your video you have the version 2 set. I miss your version the most as it has the butter yellow color. Any chance I can still buy this some place?
@@XantaDotCom oh you're looking for the butter ball set? I Got lucky on that one. But even the ones I have are the second version with steel weights. A.C.E. had them when I bought the new set at a lesser price than the new set. But that was several years ago
The fact that the pieces were in two different bags is a good thing. I bought this set and the white pieces had black smudges on them that were a pain to wash off. I think it was from them rubbing against the inside of the box, which is black, during shipping. This (the newest version) is my favorite set for club and tournament play. Highly recommended.
Why would you do check mate in 2 when you can just do bishop to f7 mate in 1 on the first one?
white queen to g7
Seems you are out of line to explain. Of course I dont enjoy your explanation.
Yo Patrick ! Whats Up ?
So it needs a phone to be constantly on to run the actual AI program (stockfish 14), the instructions aren't clear and they didn't make a manual, there are a few bugs... but does it recognize the pieces when you setup a board to solve a problem, or do you need to tell which pieces you're placing (by using the app, maybe)?
Hello sir i want to ask some question s to you about chess
Ok? So ask.
@@PatrickFestaPatman sir i also want chessmaster software viedeos upload on CZcams. If I do it, is it possible that get copyright on my videos?
@@rahulkumar-gg7bh When I started that years ago, I contacted Ubisoft and they told me there was no problem due to the expiration of the software copyright. But CZcams rules at the time considered it as a game meaning I had to talk during it or it couldn't be monetized. You should be fine. I look forward to seeing your video
@@PatrickFestaPatman sir your mean there is no problem of any kind.
@@rahulkumar-gg7bh correct. As long as they are your videos.
Thank you for the detailed unboxing. I'm currently in the market for a new heavy plastic set. I primarily play bullet and blitz over the board. Now that you have had the set for a while, do you think it's durable enough for speed chess?
First Puzzle -and we sacrifice the bishop
Hi Patrick, I have to remove all the weights from my chess set and installing the piece detection sensors for the Chessnut Pro eboard. How did you do the job ? Thank you in advance. Have a nice day. Luigi
Instead of using as knife to remove the old glue why not use fine grit sandpaper? It will remove the old glue quite well just go at a gentle rubbing of the bottom of the pieces until all the old glue is gone. Just a suggestion…
The glue on the felt is soft. It's Likely they used self adhesive felt. Sandpaper would clog.
@@PatrickFestaPatman I had the same problem with loose weights from the inexpensive tourmament sets sold by HOS, Wholesale chess and USCF Sales and it seems they all utilize the same distributing overseas company for those sets. I had almost 20 sets replaced with new ones because of the loose weights and in practically each set there was over 25 pieces out of 34 with loose weights. I used an orange degreaser liquid from the Home Depot and removed the old felts and glue with that and any residue left over was simply removed with fine grit sandpaper. There was never an issue with clogging. I did use a 2 element epoxy glue that held the weights in rather nicely when dried and used a very thin application of Titebond II to glue new felts to the bases. Now i have all the sets rattle free. The companies even returned my money for the sets so they were practically “gifted” to me for my troubles that I had encountered. FYI.
Because he is a man! That’s why he used a pocket knife. Real men use pocket knives! I use pocket knives to fix chess pieces too.
I have 4 of each type butterball and the new injection molded weights into the pieces. 2 or the butterball and 3 of the new V3 sets have never been opened and are in storage strong boxes in my home. I have 2 of the butterball in Plano fishing tackle boxes and as well as the V3 and a wooden version sold by American Chess Equipment and Wood Expressions which is practically the same chess outfit owned by Shelby Both of those sets are in Plano fishing tackle boxes as well the deep cavity type. They hod 2 full sized sets very nicely and is a great and less expensive storage means that’s buying wood coffers for these sets which could run into some serious $$$ spending. One major complaint I see from many who acquire versions II & III is the pointed tip top of the knight’s mane. What I did to correct this problem as many have, is to use a small file and just round off the tip and the back making hte mane curved and smooth not pointed or uncomfortable to handle during rapid or blitz type games. I have roughly 300 sets both wooden and plastic type. I’ve been collections for about 10 years now. I too encountered some loose weights in the butterball set but I had used a two part strong epoxy and it solidified the weights into place. Time will tell if they become loose again if the epoxy dries out and becomes brittle thus cracking the foundation and the weights loosening up.
I watched your old notation video and it brought me here 😁 nice!
What you call "real chess" is, at least mostly, tournament chess. HOWEVER, there are multiple variations of chess, just as there are multiple versions of card games like Rummy. I wonder if you are aware of some of the strict tournament rules. For example, if you touch a piece and do not move it, you forfeit the game. If you move your pieces back and forth to get out of check more than three times the game is over according to tournament rules. This game teaches basic movement. As a student were to advance, you could advance into additional rules like castling or en passant as the student is learning (as a teacher would normally do, building on basics). I feel that you fail to see the value as a variation. It will cause an interest that otherwise not be there. Students will more readily learn something that interests them. This is a card game, not tournament chess. My curiosity stems from the cards - OK, you've showed me the basic pieces, but what are the odds? You have 56 cards and I've heard 6 are the use last piece to play. That leaves 52, which doesn't divide evenly by six. What is the distribution of pieces within the deck? How many pawns, rooks, knights, bishops, queens, and kings? It makes a difference in strategy for kids to learn. Having said all that, I enjoyed the depth of your evaluation. The hollow pieces could easily be weighted with fishing weights and sealed with a plastic putty and could have felt circles added to the bottom. I'm also curious how tall the king is and what the size of the board is. Thanks for the video.
Came accross an old notebook of my grandfather! He was a great player in his times. He unfortunately passed away but he really inspired me to play chess. Currently I'm 1600 and looking forward to improve...
That is ez just move the queen to g7 after that knight move to e4 QUEEEEEEEEEN g5 checkmate.
Can you setup a position and play from there. I want to be able to go to a position in a book. Then move both sides and record it. Next time I study that section of a book I have it stored so I can quickly go through it without any chess board or pieces
I can't make any new videos at this time. Thank you for your comment.
Are the pieces just normal, or do they have a sensor in them?
They have magnets.
Thank you! I couldn't find anything on the pieces themselves.
Thanks for the puzzles. You don’t need to give the 20 seconds with a clock ticking though. People will just pause the video. You can just say you’ll give a few seconds and tell viewers to pause if they like.
Man u're unbelievably boring i had to stop watching before you started moving a piece... even with a 1,5x playback speed. Stop talking so much !!!!!
I just got mine and love it. I didn’t know you need the app when I ordered it. At the end of the day I don’t mind but I agree with you it would be nice to have it built in; And I’m a millennial. Chess computers have been around for so long so it’s not an unreasonable expectation. I assumed the app was for playing other ppl and the board had built in AI. It’s not a dealbreaker so I don’t regret not fully doing my research. It’s a great machine.
I agree with you about the manual! Have you tried playing a 5 min game on the 1200 level? The Square of seems to play much, much stronger and plays moves a master would play! It's so frustrating losing when I am a 1900 player!
First puzzle would be foiled if he moved his knight to e5. You cannot absolutely force mate in 2. You're wrong
Hey Pat Man! How ya doing? Happy Holidays!
I found both of it. First one took longer. Second one within 30 seconds.
Nice set! Thanks for sharing.
I solved the second puzzle doing: Qd5 Kxe8 b8=Q#
What about 3. ..Bxe4 I know you don't win the match and it's not an extremely good move, but you asked for the best move and even when it's not preventing 4. Rf8# it does give you a pawn and even though white can take it back with dxe4 it will not do it since he can mate black. Like I said it is a lousy move, but I think it's still the best move black could give and if white fells for the trap to take back it won't be mate in 4 anymore.
Yes. That would be a try. Thank you for watching.
Nice board, especially for the price. I just don't know why they don't adapt it to a pc with Fritz, chessbase or Hiarcs . And a pc screen is much easer to see, especially for older people who would be more willing to spend the money for this board.
I found them both difficult at first but got them both right after several minutes! Enjoyable-thanks.
The pet peeves I find interesting because I think they miss the point a bit. No manual? Well, an intuitive item like this doesn't really need a big manual, unlike my old Saitek Corona, it would be like including a book on chess with an ordinary set. I love thick manuals but most are now PDF. Needs a smartphone, and not everyone has one? This board needs a computer to run it and I have an extremely powerful computer in my pocket. It would be madness to develop a proprietary built in computer and ship it with this board just to accommodate some old farts who reject modernity but for some oxymoronic reason want a chess computer that connects to the internet. .
No one mentioned anything about rejecting modern technology. What I reject is paying $250 for a device that depends on an app that forces you to join their communities and advertises in the app all while not even providing that PDF manual you suggest!
@@PatrickFestaPatman I wasn't saying you were rejecting modernity. Clearly you're not but to have enough hardware built in to make that a powerful standalone machine just seems pointless when 99% of users will want to tether it to their smartphones. Hopefully the app will mature over time. Printed manual are pretty much dead, replaced with PDFs, in app help or CZcams tutorials.
I don't want plugged in periphrals or mobiles etc. They distract from the game and setting up may be easy but its a chore when you want to just get started. My network regularly suddenly drops and requires reconnecting with many devices. My mobile is often busy or low on battery so I normally prefer such to be kept off. It shouldn't be a big deal to build in an engine, they were doing it 30 years ago.
@@theotherside8258 the point of this for me is to be able to connect with players online, play on a full size board and have the moves registered. This is modernity but if you don't want it then get something else.
@@BigDuke6ixx Don't see why I cant have both worlds. It can't be that hard for a company to slot in some 1970's tech. Just disappointing.
