You said it ALL. You did it in a balanced way too - gave Dr Cornwell her props, but pointed out where there is room for improvement. She and her sisters are not unaware I think (simply because I've heard so many people complain about the areas you pointed out, it's hard to imagine nobody has brought it to their attention). So it's either all 3 of them are unapproachable, or all three of them are extremely stuck in their ways and impervious to progress. Whichever it is, I see it as an opportunity for another black person to leverage on their shortcomings. I don't think she invented the interlocking technique. I think she happened on it while in Africa (might have been Egypt, but I'm not 100% certain). I'm grateful to her for starting a movement though. Another black woman can take it from here if she won't. Either way, it's a win for black people everywhere.

When I had my babies, I combined a few locs in the front and at the top of my head. I’d combine a weak one with a stronger loc and then cut the loc and use it to repair weak spots in thinner locs. I kept retightening it myself just not too close to the scalp. I also left out the struggle locs from being pinned up in ponytail after the shedding stopped.

Grown out roots

Is your mom a loctitian? She does a good job. Can she gives some pointers on the do's and don't's of getting sisterlocs? I keep hearing no oils or moisturizer products period, or else your hair won't loc. Is that true? My scalp can only go so long without products, and then it starts itching.

With my first set of sisterlocks I combined them and then when I had my first son in 2018 that postpartum shedding had me looking like I had a double forehead 😅 when I got pregnant the second time I just cut all my locs off 🤣I waited until after postpartum to start the set I have now

I'm watching your video just now on Tuesday, June 25th. 2024 for the first time. Your hair is absolutely beautiful. For some reason I figured you went to Georgia to get your hair done by your mom, who was a professional loctition. When she jokingly said I should do this for a living I was dumbstruck. I thought she was a professional.

I rocked micro braids for over 15 years I think sister locks may be might be coming because I go back into natural hairstyles
