Omarama to Sailors Cutting
A quick ride from Omarama on Ducati Pantah 1983 SL600. Always a great road to ride and very little traffic, even better.....A new camera position but the helmet mount is far better....

Amazing Show Southern Lights

Aurora Australis at its best. I have not witnessed anything like it since about 2006. A stunning display from Mother Nature.
Aurora from Oamaru 45 degrees South.

A compilation of tonight's aurora, quickly put together as I will be away for a week. The aurora was so intense that it covered the sky as can be seen in the last section of the video. Amazing sight from nature.

Haast To Makarora
zhlédnutí 20Před 3 měsíci
Our latest ride from Haast to Makarora. Over the Haast Pass, an amazingly beautiful part of New Zealand. No rain...that is a plus as it pours down on the Coast more often than not. We did beat the rain as the highway is now closed, April 9-10th and maybe longer. Little traffic as well. A blessing for sure.

Moped Rally 2024

Audio and video for this attempt at uploading !!!!!! 50 cc and less is the only requirement for the bikes in this rally. A lot of fun to be had by the riders with these low powered bikes.
Kickstart Rally 2024 Part 3

The last ride to Glenavy, through Waimate and a back road, narrow and one has to be aware of farm vehicles. Lovely ride all the same. See you next year!!!!!
Kickstart Rally 2024 Part Two

A continuation of the rally around the backroads of South Canterbury and into the Hunter Hills. Nice roads, a blessing, and not a lot of traffic, except for the motorcycles

Yes it certainly is dry but I would rather have it that way and not pouring rain.. the camera position leaves a little to be desired. The top of the helmet is the better spot. Hopefully we will be back out on the road again soon.😮
You are so right about that highway with the lakes beside it making it a special road to ride and drive. I want to drive the Lindis Pass again someday.
You can do it! But make sure it is not snowing.
It all looked very dry, Tony, almost like summer drought conditions. We've had very little rain here and the Port Hills are still quite dry.
It has been a long night....in Queenstown with siblings. Hope to get another display tonight. 19th we are in Christchurch, will phone you
You were lucky with the weather, Tony - clear skies all the time!
My siblings arrived today and are off around the SI. I am going with them as I haven't seen them since my brother's funeral. In Christchurch about 19th and will phone you. More Aurora to come. Keep flying.
Well done, Tony. I was expecting you to put something up! I didn't know you were off on your travels.
Awesome 🙏
Thanks for that an amazing sight early morning ,and tonight was even more spectacular. Hope to load something up later may be a late night.
@@astrokiteman1943 Excellent. I look forward to it.
@@astrokiteman1943Where are you located in Australia? Or NZ?
@@crazyham Oamaru New Zealand 45 South
@@astrokiteman1943 Thanks Mate 🙏 Gday from across the Pond (Emerald, Vic, Australia)
Wearing the helmet is akin to being in a gas chamber.....no way out, visor up or down.
Glad you got past the truck, Tony. Take a clothes peg for your nose next time!
Yes I am experimenting with a few gimmicks that appear with the latest upgrades. Really quite confusing so it's obvious I should spend more time riding and taking videos!!!!! Then perhaps I can do better. I will be wearing the bike out. We have calculated that I have covered more than 250000k in 11 years.....pollution plus!!
Good weather and great scenery, Tony, a wonderful combination. I thought you overdid the gimmicky globe effect a bit, as it would have been nice to see more of the pass in a viewable format. Glad you had a good trip anyway.
Nice one beautiful kite
Promo`SM
Yes I think I am. Good at doing it too!!!!!!
Going round the bend rather often aren't you, Tony?
Yes it is an amazing camera. All packed in a small parcel, I suppose I look a bit of a nerd with it on top of the helmet but it gives the best view, and dare I say it....a view of the speedo.....but no speeding here.
Both are good cameras, Tony, but the Insta 360 is amazing. How do they pack such great technology into such a small size? And waterproof, too!
Might ride 50cc up......take a week or more though
A bit of a lonely ride, Tony, but very pleasant anyway. Hope to see you up here in the near future.
Looked like a lot of fun, Tony. I've never been to Waimate, but of course have passed it on the main highway many times. Maybe I should make a visit before it's too late. I noticed a lot of pixilation on your video, not as good as the usual quality. Were you using your latest camera, or had you reverted to an older one?
Ahh yes I was at full zoom so the quality is degraded. I could not keep up with the other boys !!!!!! I was being good. Pity !!!! I use on most occasions now, the 360 Insta. Maybe when a higher resolution come out I may just have to get one....might be years though but time is running short .....
What fantastic weather, Tony! I hope your map-reading skills improve on the next section.
Of course we always have nice weather. Re map reading we were all following each other ,what map????. Have cycled all these roads when I raced so know most of them although the route off the highway I have not been on. 50cc rally tomorrow so hope to get more footage of it. Have fun flying and nice videos of them on the Brighton beach.
Great weather you have down there, Tony. Make sure to bring some with you next time you come up here.
Always great weather here !!!! well most of the time. Yes I will pencil in the good weather when I come up. Thanks
A lovely ride, Tony -- no speeding involved, I hope!
No speeding we were very good as you can see !!!!
That's certainly a lovely road to ride (or drive), Tony. Much improved in places since the big earthquake.
It certainly has improved a good deal, surface excellent, a lot better than some of the roads around North Otago.
Perfect weather and very little traffic - you certainly struck it lucky that time, Tony!
Yes the weather was out of the box....topbox ?????, far superior to what I encountered on the way up to Blenheim.
Yes a stroke of luck, I checked the conditions on retiring and decided to activate the camera. Just as well I did. Detail quite acceptable for such a little camera.
Parts of that were quite spectacular, Tony. Well filmed!
Kaikoura coast at its best. One of NZ's great roads!
The weather was certainly much better than we had here on Monday, Tony, as you would have seen when you got here. If only it was always like that!
Hi Tony. So pleased your box rolled towards the grass and not the road centre. That was a great ride up the Kaikoura coast. One of my favourite roads with the ocean views.
The first time it fell off it was in front of a following vehicle...100kph....bounced a bit all over the road...tough. I am working on a video of the coast and it was stunningly beautiful, no earthquakes though. A new box coming soon. This one is still right to use....!!!!
Obviously built tough, Tony, like its owner!
Being 80 yrs old and still riding, hopefully I will wear as well as the Givi. I have ordered another latch so we will be able to carry a bit of luggage again. I am astounded at the durability of the box, amazing. Ciao.
That looked like a very good run, Tony. I hope the weather continues fine and gives you more such opportunities.
I hope so too and many more years of motorcycling.....a curse being over 80!!!
I was driving on the same road up to Pateroa last Sunday. I was in my new red coloured car. Did you see me ??
No as we went over on Friday but a nice ride. Hope you haven't run up too many miles in your new vehicle!!!!
Good to see you out and about again, Tony. It certainly does look dry, and no doubt will be a lot more so when we get into summer.
Yes it certainly beats the "green look" like up in the Mackenzie country. It was a good ride and no frost to speak of although the shady corners were taken with due care. Good to be out again after the last few months of emotions. May even fly a kite one day !!!!!
Ayo semangat
Yes you are correct on both counts, video was with the GIT_UP not the best quality and I think the max for the sound is about a minute, interspersed with music. Hope to get out today for a ride so might get a bit of 360 footage...have fun I will
That may be music to your ears, Tony, but it gets a bit tedious to we non-bikers! Video quality was not up to your usual standard - different camera this time?
Haha! I love this comment, you sound like a tolerant neighbour who knows him well! "Give it a rest Tony please, we get it, but please not so loud after 9:30 though. How are the kids?" 😂
To be honest, some Conti pipe-mic instead of that shitty generic elevator-music would have vastly added to the clip. Half of the fun racing a Pantah is hearing her breathing - glorious times when Taglioni could concentrate on performance of the valvetrain insted of concentrating on sillily choking sounds and waste-air to unreasonable lows ... Anyway - very nice bike You got there. Thanks for sharing!
I have attempted to record the Conti pipes but no luck as the wind noise is too loud but I am in the throes of experimenting with it. Yes the pipes are loud, quite loud as I wear earplugs to lessen it but in saying that it does alert the tintop drivers as to the presence of an un moto. Grazie T.
@@astrokiteman1943 I thought so with the wind. Thanks for experimenting! I do wear earplugs with most of my motorcycles ever since i started 40+ years ago, the reason though is more the windnoises around the helmet (However I am living in Bavaria/Germany, so our average commuting speeds might be slightly higher than what You know as "criminally speeding"😅)
Enjoyed seeing the bike up close. Looks in showroom condition. It must be rather rare in New Zealand and valuable. Don't drop it.
As far as I can find it is the only one registered in NZ of this age . Goes well and quite quick, no speeding of course.....hope you are well and must try and catch up one of these years !!
Looked like a good trip, Tony, and things seem a bit greener than they were in the last few videos. Nice of Ellie to polish the bike so well for you - I hope you didn't get it dirty!
All my own handiwork....Nice to ride but always something to do on it, a change of cam belts up next.....just as well I have other bikes to ride. Have fun !!!!!!!!!!!
That blue cast is still there, not as much but I shall rectify that.
Another great ride, Tony. I've noticed that your recent videos seem to look rather too blue - something wrong with the colour balance on your camera, maybe, or perhaps it's the software.
Yes I am having a bit of a problem with the colour balance. tried a couple of programmes to get rid of it but will have to have to reset camera.. Good videos from you with the kites. Great to have your own "👍Flying day"
Having ridden this route many times it is from Kurow to Otematata on the shores of Lake Aviemore and the lake offers great sailing.
At 33 degrees I thought you'd be riding in your bikini, Tony! Does Ellie know about the coffee lady?
Oh yes have known her for years,,,, was hot enough for togs. 26 C in Omarama for a coffee and 35 C an hour later. sweltering. hope you had a good fly at kite day.
A good ride, Tony, and it looked as if the weather was kind to you.
It was rather warm at times. Lovely riding weather as we always have down here. Keep well.
That thumbnail looks like a pepe the frog's eye
A great mix of classic bikes. makes from everywhere. Japanese, USA, Italian, British. Wondering were the location stop was?
Great that you had plenty of company for once, Tony. I was surprised to see you being overtaken, though! By the way, S T O P spells "stop".
Oops sorry about that, I cut the stop bit out!!! Good rally though. although I was just pootling along. Ciao
Looked like a good ride, Tony, but I didn't see the pig!
Lovely scenery you have there, Tony. Beats ours by far.
We do have some amazing scenery, probably why we chose to live in Otago. So far this month we have had 4.6mm of rain...lovely.
