I ran into a tanking wall back in BFA where I got good enough on Prot Warrior where I felt like all I was doing was babysitting DPS as tanking was becoming less fun. I think as I get deeper into the M+ scene, I'm seeing where there are some new horizons to explore as tank, so may find myself doing it again as I have definitely become super rusty.

VDH/Prot Pally here, one thing that I think is incredibly helpful that I'm surprised you didn't mention is to MAKE YOUR OWN WEAK AURAS! take the time to learn how to use WA, make your own from scratch so you get very comfortable with having your own UI. This can drastically improve your performance. Even things like alerts for cleansing yourself, full holy power or souls. Etc.

Updating title/description to indicate Season 4, the tier set and entire class has remained COMPLETELY unchanged going into this patch. The only note is of course the gear section is a bit out of date - but also not really cuz the raid will rotate back around and also dawn of infinite still drops champion gear so it might be worth still getting cheat death/double time if you get it from m0.
