Bucket List Tummy is a wellness blog and brand hosted by Registered Dietitian and mom, Sarah Schlichter. Sarah has 3 young kids, and shares easy, family-friendly recipes that kids love. Protein Snacks for Kids
As a Registered Dietitian and mom of 3, I know how important it is to serve protein in snacks to kids. Not only does it help them grow and thrive, but it helps keep them full and balances their blood sugar, meaning more stable energy!
I aim for 4-5 grams of protein per snack, though each child's protein needs will be different. Protein needs are dependent on many factors, such as:
- age
- gender
- activity level
- any health conditions
- appetite
- stage of growth
- etc.

- Nut/seeds (pistachios are a complete plant protein!)
- Nut butters

- Beans and legumes
- Deli meats
- Beef and poultry
- Edamame
- Greek yogurt
- Cottage cheese
- Kid friendly bars

I don’t see the issue with that. They are her kids. I’m not weirded out by it either. My kids and I share drinks. It’s the same thing. Plus the cooking would kill any germ left behind in the kids bowls.
