The problem that I have is when I first start..it races like hell.. I have a craftsman yt 3000..bought it new 12 years ago and it has been great up until now..any suggestions….
I just did what you showed.got it running pretty decent.
I only watched about 20 minutes of your video. I think I know what the problem is, if you haven't found it by now? FACTS: Your air motor is pumping air, but does not raise the ram. You can raise the ram somewhat with the manual pump lever, but it is "spongy." I never saw you check the level of hydraulic oil in the reservoir? You should check the oil level! I suspect it is low. Follow the directions and purge any air from the system. At this point, you should be able to manually pump and the ram should rise and maintain pressure. One of the screws you removed around the air motor was large with a slotted head? It had another Phillips headed screw underneath the cap screw? I believe the Phillips screw is an AIR BLEED SCREW. You should run your air compressor while you are unscrewing this screw, but don't take it out all the way. That should let any air bleed out. As you BEGIN TO TIGHTEN THIS SCREW, YOU WILL BEGIN TO SEE THE RAM START GOING UP, and your problem is fixed.
I was having the exact same issue with our new mower with less than 6 hours on it! It ran out of gas and then started surging after it was refueled. 2min fix and its running good as new! Thank you so much!!!
It fixed the problem
My mower runs as long as its ellavated ,handle bar down on the ground ONLY....???
Dirty gas,clean tank and filter.
This video is inaccurate, i have been a small engine mechanic for 15+ years. The symptom of surging at high rpms indicates that it is the main jet that is the cause, the pilot jet is only critical to low engine rpms. It is also providing fuel all the time so the pilot and main are cumulative. But this "repair" would not fix the surging. Also none of the b+s repair manuals i have(all of them) indicate this is the correct repair methodology.
Good morning. I have got a John deere with a B&S engine. 19HP. With same carb and is also surging like on the video. So do you think I should clean the main jet? I just did it but no change. Surging and does not rev up. Any ideas?
hey man, help me, im Brazilian, my husqvarna Rider r316tx Kawasaki f481v motor runs really bad, i cleaned the carburetor but after this he runs much bad with black smoke, (it looks like the choke is on), Have you ever seen something similar, before cleaning the carburetor it was oscillating at idle speed
@@MultiSander1986Hello friend, im Brazilian, in this case the best thing to do is to remove the carburetor and clean the high speed and low speed fuel channels
My Husqvarna yth24v48 surges at low rpm. I have to keep the throttle up high to keep it running. So if the engine is surging at low rpm do you still clean the main jet or the pilot jet or both? Thanks
Have one of these, I've done every "fix" I can find on internet but still no fix
THANK YOU!!! I have the same mower and problem and was about to take the whole carburetor out.🤩👏🏻
great job, just a shame you did everything off camera
Sounded like it was still surging to me!
I have the same exact mower but pilot jet is not at the same location unfortunately.. Same model but mine is 10 years older. Any suggestions?
What model tractor is yours? I am in the same boat
What are you using there connected in the front for air assist? Air regulator of some type?
1:11 pretty disgusting. Soap and water will help a great deal.
Hey CJ you have the lawn mower engine idling faster than before you did not repair it
That’s because he has it idle higher, where it’s set in between how fast he wants the mower to go between the turtle and the rabbit on the logo of the mower itself if you actually pay attention in the video, so yes, he did fix it
Should be monport board
Thanks for sharing, I have the same K40 and minority board but have not been able to connect to my laser. It is showing ready in light burn but no movement at all. I will go my limit switches again to see if they are done properly as I am getting an alarm 9 msg. Thanks again
How where the limit switches? Wired correctly?
You mention adding the chiller, but I don't see it in this or your other videos. Did you do a video on that somewhere?
Michaelcouey1383, I did not do a video. The chiller setup is so simple, i thought just a mention would be enough. In a nutshell, its a cheapo portable icemaker (amazon i think). The Ice drops about every 6 mins for large cones, so i simply turn on the ice maker and laser and let it cycle for about a half hour prior to using. IF you go this same route. You MUST keep an eye out for sweating of the lines and laser tube prior to firing the laser. One other MUST do's is the Distilled Water (no brainer) but that was for the folks that didn't know. Let me know if there is something specific I can talk to you. Happy to share the knowledge if i have it...
@@MakallWorkshop the reason I asked about it is because I have an ice maker that we use for our RV in the summer. Short of coiling the tubing and sticking it inside the ice compartment to pass-thru...I don't understand how you're hooking up a icemaker to the water recirculation line. Maybe you're ice maker is different than mine. That's why I clicked your video was to see the process, in case I needed something different.
michaelcouey1383, I will link the icemaker i got from amazon, its not to terrible when compared to a real laser chiller. www.amazon.com/dp/B08ZYJ8CRX?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 I have the pump stuck to the floor of the ice maker basin. Fill to the line with DI water. I have my pump hose and my return hose both going to the ice maker basin. ice water goes up to the laser via the pump and hot water or return water goes back into the basin to be chilled by the ice that is being made. To achieve this simply remove the basket that catches the ice and let the ice fall into the basin. I plugged the pump and chiller into the laser, so when i turn on laser both turn on. I simply let it cycle for about a half hour while i prep my laser file. Then start engraving or cutting.
If you take a job like this to a lawn mower shop they will do just as you did in a few minutes but when you pick it up they will tell you it was a 5 hour job to remove carburettor , strip and clean and refit ,plus what ever else they decided to invent while working on it . What should be less than an hour will be hundreds . You pay because it’s running but they are laughing all the way to the bank . Good on you for fixing it yourself . Well done 👍
Deanwitt7903, I hear you loud and clear. I may just do a strip and clean on the carb. Just to stick it to em again!
I'm a small motor mechanic in Australia. Our labour is $95 an hour. I get $25 an hr.
If you have a dirty pilot jet, the proper thing to do would be to take the carburetor out and completely clean it the right way, not half ass it and take shortcuts. So if you don’t want it done properly do what this guy did and you can deal with more problems down the road.
Dirty fuel.clean gas tank and new filter.
@@shawnohalloran6593Not everything is a teardown and rebuild job
Awesome I love it gets smashed and blows up roflmao
How does it go. Suck, Smash, Bang, Blow for a 4 stroke engine...lol
It appears that you need more stuff in your garage
At this point if something else comes in, then something has to go out. Got a bunch of truck interior parts in there right now too!
Worked flawlessly…. Less and two minutes..don’t need the other tool. Just a screw driver, carb cleaner, and some wire to clean the ports.
Nice!... Very happy to hear it... Awesome speed run too!:)
Wow! I have the Exact mower and yours sounds exactly the way mine sounded when I was mowing the day before yesterday. Thanks for the easy-fix footage! I sure hope this works. 🤔
How is working out for you? Did you see any trash in the jet?
or fuel filter can do it
Certainly a fuel filter can be the cause of getting trash in the carb. But simply changing the filter may not fix the problem of surging once the jet is clogged or partially clogged.
Solid coar copper wire is my go to for carburate cleaning. It is softer than most cast carburetor materials and snakes easily through any small orifice holes.
That could absolutely work! I like the train of thought. My only issue is that for me at least i would have to remove the jet, then go to the hardware store to find the right size. I simply do not carry a wide variety of wire in my shop. In a pinch we use what we have to gain success.
I believe the size is about .013 dia, and electricians know what guage of wire to use to get a strand of .013 off from?
🙌 "PromoSM"
No Thanks.
Is that a Nikki?
according to the manual it does not appear to be: link below, my carb is 125B which states a Ruixing branded carb. shop.briggsandstratton.com/pages/parts-lookup?#/Briggs_%26_Stratton/33R777-0003-G1/Carburetor%2c_Fuel_Supply%2c_Kit-Carburetor_Overhaul/33R7770003G1/104920004A/y After all the horror stories about Nikki I feel I should count myself lucky.
thanks
Hope the video helps out.
It’s so easy to remove carb and completely clean it 😊😊😊
Perhaps in a another video, maybe a few years from now.
Sounds like starter is stuck also Nikki carbs are a pain in the butt Never leave old gas in them
The battery is on its last leg, almost convinced myself to go buy another one.
I always run mine dry. Got a fuel shut off. When done mower (every time) I shut fuel off then run motor until engine stops.
Just an update on the battery. I put it on a charger to recondition it and works real good now.
Great project, thank for the video!
I am glad you liked it. I hope it helps out.
I did not know that you have to cure 3D printed stuff
With resin prints you must cure. Also there is a free way but I am not that patient to wait on sun curing.
Good deal
yeah it is fairly inexpensive. you can substitute some things but personally I think sticking with some mid-grade or better led's will serve the purpose better.
Wind sock
space tree...? Did I win?
Safety sandals love it
haha! yeah. not recommended for forging. Hot slag between the toes is not fun.
Beautiful work now what do you plan to build with it
I am thinking in a few seasons, maybe make a resin pour table. The slabs certainly won't go to waste. On another note, I may have to square them up and turn them into dimensional lumber. During the slabbing we had to trim a considerable amount off of the sides. What do you think should be done with them?
Leave the play back speed alone if the length bothers you crop it out Sounds like chipmunks, gone wild
Honestly, i was kind of expecting this comment. At the time of editing I did not know how to turn the volume down. The third video i had to figure that out. I think we filmed for about 6 hours, so a bunch was cut out.
