Here's a fun trick to make your guitar sound double tracked with the DigiTech GSP1101. Awesome job, Aleksis ! Is there anyway you share your patches, without IRs (since they're commercial IRs) ? Did you tweak the different EQs to get these sounds ?
Thanks man! Unfortunately I don't own this unit anymore nor have any patches in a shareable format other than writing the settings first down on paper. I think I used the EQ (in addition to amp controls) on every patch to get the sound that I wanted.

@@GregLegarand I have a BOSS GT-1 for jamming. While most of my production work is done with either 5150 or Marshall style amp sims, the core of my recorded sound (IRs) is still the same.

Jep! 1 pitkäaikainen bändin jäsen, 1 useamman keikan ja kokonaisen kiertueen(?) tuuraaja, ja yksi jonka laulutyyliin Alexi vahvasti vaikutti ja jonka bändi treenasi samassa mestassa Bodomien kanssa. Nowadays: 808: Drive 10 Tone 40 Level 50 5150: Gain 70 Bass 70 Mids 60 Treble 6.5 I use the Ownhammer Mesa V30 SM57 edge of dustcap IR pretty much always

Yup, post comp on each of the patches except the ones where I'm actually using comp, mainly some clean tones.

Always stopped contenplating when I realized people are gonna have to get them IRs and those I can't share since they're not mine. Sorry dude. Really happy if you found the tones usable. A preset ?
Gain around 85. Bass at 3.5 mids at 2.0 and treble around 5 IIRC. OH Mesa 412 AKG C414 IR and P.EQ Bass 60hz -12db medium width, mids -11 750hz wide width and highs -11db 8k narrow.
Nice job! Gsp1101 is still a great unit, especially in that it is just one rack space

Thx! No poweramp nor cabinet; direct recording. I'm using mostly Ownhammer or Redwirez impulse responses.

I have a couple of questions if you don't mind. In the video are you going direct ? For my live rig I run the 1101 and use a cabinet and running mono, will the settings you described still work running mono with a single cabinet? Thanks
Sure. Yes, I'm going direct. Well, you won't get that huge stereo spread with a single cabinet but you won't gave weird phasing issues whatsoever if you've set fx to mono in the settings. GSP should anyway detect that only one output is in use and sum the fx to mono. So go ahead and try this sound with your setup!

Hey, thanks. It sure is a very cool piece of gear.
I also think what makes this model come alive are the correct EQ settings. Using the Para-EQ, set the low to 240Hz, the mid to 750hz and the high to 2240. These three EQ points are almost exactly the same as the 3 middle EQ sliders in the real amp. The trick with this is not to do the "EXTREME" EQ scoops that the real amp requires. I go +2, -2 and +2, low/mid/high respectively. Another really important trick is to place the compressor in the post position and to use an outboard Compressor. I really like the DOD 240 reissue.
