Eagles doesn't have a range or any plans to add one to my knowledge. It's a good one, Rum Pointe is number 1, it's not even close. Ask any golfer here, it's unanimous.

I've played Seaview both Pines and the Bay. My best score on the Pines is an 83 from the middle tees. I haven't played any of the others

100% below a 5. Monmouth bought the course quite a few years ago. The prior owners were struggling, and it was one of the first courses in NJ to feature an artificial green. Monmouth’s reservation system is horrible. If you’re not a resident, forget about it. Walk ups are usually frowned upon. The staff at Belaire needs to take a few lessons in customer service from the other local executive course, Forge Pond. The par 3 is fun. Overall, compared to the other golf courses in the Monmouth system, this one is lacking in service and condition. I’d give it a 4/10.

More Jersey Shore golf course history. Why does that state own this course, and only one? Because, according to local lore and old timers, the state condemned the land and was going to create a reservoir (the Manasquan River runs through the property). Later, the state DEP told the state that they couldn’t build the reservoir because it contained endangered critters. So the state was stuck with a golf course. The tee boxes are typical muni boxes - butchered by hackers. The course should have seed mix at each box. The greens again fall victim to hackers that can bend over and pick up their ball, but can’t fix a divot 🙄 Thanks for another nice review of one of my local municipal courses.

The course is a par 60, not 70. For years after the opening in 1989 the course record was set by a local PGA pro (IIRC Manasquan’s pro), 62! The land was bought by Ocean County in the early 80s and was originally supposed to be a full par 72 course. Between the purchase and start of the build, the state DEP changed the rules around developable wetlands, and the land went from a couple hundred acres to less than 100. The county redesigned the course to the current par 60. It’s also the reason for the “back 5”. Those 5 holes way in the back. Everything you see along that long path is wetlands. I was told that’s also why so many greens are elevated - to keep them above the water table and promote drainage. It’s also the reason the holes are so tight - to one another and the trees! You will lose a couple balls each round. When it opened the current front 9 was the back 9. Senior resident rate is $13 for a walk. The county does a fantastic job of keeping it in very good shape. The tee boxes are rough, but the greens are very good. They suffer more from hackers not fixing ball marks than poor maintenance. Hal Purde did a fantastic job with the landscape he was given. The greens are diabolical! Almost all have that Punehurst #2 upside down saucer look. Shots along the edge will be rejected. It’s absolutely my favorite golf course. It’s small, well kept, and as an Ocean County resident I say with a bit of pride, it’s ours. We only have 2 (Atlantis being the other). I can get 9 holes in at about 90 minutes, and paying only $13 I don’t feel bad about only doing 9. Thanks for the nice review. Love your channel, love the content.
