Wooow my goodness
He really just needs to make music for soundtracks bc I could not listen to this in my spare time.
Dope!
wait, what the fuck on those string gauges Sonny?!
More of Sonny T
Sonny T is an international treasure. I walked over to him in London before an NPG gig and he said "oh man, look at this f*ckin' hippy right here'. I carry that with me always.
한국한번와줘라..
Will do!
Helluva guitar player...👍
What Vincen Garcia on bass as well??
Yess
Wow dudes got a custom harmonizer instead of using built in one.
spore music
Spoon a.k.a. sustain pedal
Awful !
Sounds like a midi guitar.
Beethoven played a old piano. YAWN🥱🥱🥱Collier has a harmoniZer with a capital Z!! The whole world wakes up!!!!
Listen....
His tone is just annoying. Idk. Woah woah woah
Not since my rock guitar days have I seen the “turn it up, snap it off” ethos so thoroughly embodied lol
Need to hear onion girl on that harmonizer @jacob collier
110% bassmaster
This bass player is wwaaayyy on fire!!!! My favorite type of player .... great chops and funkay-ass feelin'!!!! Sonny T!!!!
Those things are awesome! They're also expensive. 🥲
Rise of the machines
6:55 what video is this from
Close your eyes and it’s Cliff Richard speaking
He should add a button that makes coherent, interesting music come out of it.
insufferable know-it-all biblecamper finds out about production technique from the seventies:
Damn bro, Who hurt you.
Ok so it’s like autotune but worse
hahahahahaha thank you
Which song is it at 10:30?
This is craaaaazy! 😂
1:55 Jacob Collier enters the poolrooms!
What a lucky guy, here we say ''it's better to born lucky than rich...''
What happens if you play C major and sing a D say? Will it sound the same as if you sang a (perfectly transposed) C?
The way he phrases it, I assume the harmonizer detects the sung note and transposes it relative to that, so that a C3 always plays a C3 regardless of what JC is singing.
He sings whatever he wants, the keyboard just samples his voice and uses it as a separate instrument playing whatever he presses. It's like having the same instrument played by two people (except one is monophonic only while the other one can be polyphonic)
It will sound like a complete C. A harmonizer can produce music notes from your own voice. Whether it be spoken or sung, just press any key that you want and poof.
Thank you for the video. This is awesome!!!
The harmoniser should have been called the cat talk machine
That’s lit af
Don’t light your autofocus please!
How many Grammy’s and my man is using cutlery as pedals on-stage 😂
You give me 5 years and enough crack and i will die, But not achieve this
People are easily impressed by this. This is no big deal at all.
I mean it's kind of a big deal I mean he built his own harmonizer and he's really good at using it, that it's pretty cool I would say I wouldn't say it's a small deal even.
i don't understand the difference between this and a vocoder?
My understanding is: A vocoder uses the characteristics of your voice to play a synth. This as Jacob says is a ‘real time sampler’. So it’s actually sampling jacobs vocal and pitch shifting it in real time to the notes that he is playing making the choir effect. So a vocoder sounds more robotic and this sounds more like a real human choir. That’s my interpretation anyway
Peter Frampton did that back in 1975. I'm not sure what the big deal is with this guy.
That was a voice box, not harmonisation.
@@MartinPoulter He's using a real-time sampler. Other bands have used it. Around 2000 a lot of bands were harmonizing with samplers. And obviously auto tune. So 23 years ago. But Frampton had a similar effect, using his breath to modulate notes on his keyboard. in 75.
@@toddfarkman2177 That's not how either of those technologies work.
@@toddfarkman2177 There's no law that you have to understand the difference between a voice box, a vocoder, a sampler, a harmoniser and Auto-tune, so I get that these can seem the same because the results are similar, but these are different technologies that do different things. A sawtooth synthesiser sounds a bit like a violin; that doesn't mean that sawtooth synthesisers weren't new when introduced in the 20th century.
@@MartinPoulter This kid is 20 years past when "harmonizers" were popular. My point is, Frampton was doing similar stuff back in the 70s. Exactly the same? No. But this whiz kid isn't exactly cutting edge nor terribly impressive. What's funny is that I can't even remember the names of the bands who used this, it's been that long.
Cory is that MonoNeon's quilt coat? Love you all, Mersh...
it's funny because he is so effeminate and weak that he looks way older than he is. His hair is sooo thin and stringy
want a break from the ads
Nice to know someone is using the toys to their fullest
Why was I surprised to see him barefoot at sound check
That is simply amazing
I'm ready for more Sonny T Part 3! Please
Like a magician finally revealing the secrets of his tricks.
