Abadam, Lian C. 11 - Guadalupe (STEM) As the season of Lent is nearing, this document is significant to the people that are needing a whole wide knowledge about the season of Lent. The season of Lent is a time to reflect on and remember Jesus Christ's suffering, death, and resurrection. The Lenten season is a time for preparation and repentance for sins, reflection on how Christ's death and resurrection have freed us from our sins, and a reminder that we will all die and that we should be careful with our deeds.

Praised be Jesus and Mary! 🤍💙 De Guzman, Shaila Marie Abueg Grade 11- Our Lady Of The Candles (STEM) In this documentary, I learn about the kuwaresma, its history, and its profound symbolism. By practicing kuwaresma, I am also learning and gaining knowledge about how we respect and appreciate the Lenten season. As a consequence of this video, I'm curious to understand more about kuwaresma and its influence on my religious views. The documentary is Informative. This anecdote exemplifies the depth of commitment of Filipinos from Hagonoy in the province of Bulacan. This exemplifies our customs and activities throughout Lent or Holy Week. Participation in processions, Visita Iglesia, adherence to church laws, and, for me, ardent devotion to our Lord the Redeemer, among other recollections, reminisce. The documentary is fantastic. The entire documentary inspired me to live out my Christian beliefs. The fact that Jesus' love for us knew no limitations, that He loved us even when we were at our lowest, that His love is unconditional, and that He was able to forgive us of our sins served as a reminder to me that love knows no bounds. I'd want to thank everyone who worked on this documentary. the final result is amazing and Filipinos can connect to it. and the narrator of this documentary pleased me with her voice, which is beautiful and calmed, and the listener or audience might be persuaded. The entire documentary inspired me to live out my Christian beliefs. Carreon, Emmanuel L. 11- Our Lady of the Candles (STEM) Lent season or also known as Kuwaresma is a catholic tradition that emphasizes the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. This season starts at Ash Wednesday or Miyerkules ng Abo, where the priest puts ash in our forehead that signifies mortality and penance for our sins, this tradition ends within 40 days. This documentary really helped me to expand my knowledge about the season of Lent.

It shows the tradition that Catholics do during the season of Lent. It is the time of fasting, repentance, and spiritual discipline. The season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday and concludes on Holy Saturday, the day before Easter. This documentary taught me and given me the information I need to know about the season of lent.

Araza, Justin Ryan C. 11- Our Lady of Guadalupe ( STEM ) The kuwaresma or lent is what the filipinos are use to doing and we will know from what we watched a lot of information about the kuwaresma o lent. These traits are consistent with the lenten cultural practices that we have. If you look at majority of solitarios and pasos being processed in your own town, it is seldom, or none at all, that you could see an image having a morena aesthetic, except maybe for the image of the Nazareno and those that have been tarnished in the passing of time. We also inculturated palabas in our lenten traditions through the dramatic senakulo being staged in plazas at night, the awitan through the chanting of the Pasyong Mahal in various kubol and the ritualistic paglilibing of the dead Christ, the Santo Entierro, accompanied by an orchestra and a soprano rendering an evocative Stabat Mater Dolorosa.

El Mohamady Saleh, Shekaina Eisha T. 11- Our Lady of Guadalupe (STEM) My understanding of the lenten season has grown and expanded as a result of watching the documentary. With this, I consider how many events occurred over the Lenten season that I have only now learned about. As Lent was approaching in the past, all I could think about was watching penitensya, watching a televised Lenten special, or indulging in some sort of salvific and delicious meal. Yet after watching this video, it opened my eyes to the fact that each day in that season had a unique significance and required various activities (like on Maundy Thursday, which is the day where people need to do fasting and it is prohibited to drink alcohol and eat meat because it is the re-enactment of the last supper). Because it honors Jesus' suffering, the Lenten season has particular significance for Filipinos.

Javier, Ericka Ann 11- Our Lady of Guadalupe In this particular documentary, I feel enchanted on how it was filmed. It portrayed perfectly the essence of the season of Lent, and it also included the traditions of Hagonoy. As I watched the video, I admit that it really broadens my own perspective about the lenten season, it made me realize the real importance and on how much sacrifice Jesus did for all of us. In some part of the video, I can't help but wonder, why did He chose to save us when we are the primary reason on why He was on that situation. Yet, He proved to all of us how humble and how much He loves all of us, because despite of our actions and decisions, He chose us. Hence the reason why I would recommend this documentary to the others for them to watch. It may seem like a simple and boring video to the others but when you watch it, you will be enlightened about the lenten season.

In the duration of this season, the whole Church would be colored purple to symbolize sadness and regrets, especially to the sins that we had committed. According to the documentary, we celebrate the season of lent in order to remember the sacrifices, death, and resurrection of Jesus, all for the sake of saving us. Each day serves as a reminder for every event that had happened prior to the death and resurrection of Christ. Each practice such as Penitensya and procession serves as our way to show our sincerity in asking for forgiveness and faith in Christ. In accordance to the presentation, I had learned that these practices are not only followed every year to keep our sacred traditions alive, but also to constantly serve as our reminder that God's love for us knows no boundaries to the point that he was willing to give and sacrifice his beloved Son in exchange of our redemption and freedom from the slavery brought by sins. Remember that God is merciful to those who believes and asks for his forgiveness.

It is the time of the year where some of us awaits because there are no classes. But as I grew older, I've learn how crucial the lenten season is to us Catholics. It is not just a 'normal days' but rather, within this whole season, we commemorate the suffering of Jesus for the salvation of the whole nation. As I watch the documentation, it gave me a glimpse of the religious tradition that the church and Catholic do every Lent season, it particularly highlights the tradition in Hagonoy. The liturgical color of this season is violet, which symbolizes sadness and repentance. Quadragesima is the greek word term for lent which is defined as 40 correlating for the 40 days of preparation for the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The season of lent requires a person to fulfill duties that require an individual to reflect on the journey of Jesus deeply. The start of the lent season is Ash Wednesday which is applying burned ash from palms used to the forehead of a catholic person. The burning of palms is called Sunog Sala, done before Ash Wednesday. The ash applied to an individual’s forehead symbolizes that we all came from ash, and we will return to ash as well. The season of lent requires an individual to do fasting and abstinence from eating meat. Viernes Dolores is done before the holy week showcasing the seven sorrows of Mary. The Viernes Dolores is a parade in which Our Lady of Sorrows is the only one shown. Domingo De Ramos symbolizes the coming of Jesus back to Jerusalem, and here, they showcase how people praise and celebrate his coming. After that, we enter the holy week which we reflect on what we have committed to the life of Jesus up to his resurrection. This documentary has served everyone as an instrument to wake up the minds of every people concerning the importance of the holy week. This documentary reveals the main essence of every part of the lent season and why it is recognized as the most religious season. This documentary has helped me to be more collaborative with the activities regarding lent and to reflect as it is the real essence of lent. This serves as a reminder that we are made of dust and will one day return to it. We commemorate the Lord Jesus Christ's suffering, death, and resurrection during this time. Jesus' suffering was brought on by our sins, but since He was obedient, He continued His journey of sorrow and was put to death in the end. Jesus still put our interests ahead of His own and Jesus shows us how much He cares for us by offering and giving His life to the hands of God. Christians imitate Jesus Christ's death and 40-day desert fast by keeping the 40 days of Lent. Fasting from food and festivities is a defining feature of Lent. Lent remembers the events up to and including Jesus' crucifixion by Rome, but Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus after his death on the cross. This is thought to have happened in Jerusalem when it was under Roman control.

This documentary enlightens me about things about the Lenten season that I am still not familiar with. I've seen the importance of it that we Catholics should know. In the time that we are in this season, my knowledge has broadened about the simple things about why Catholics do a certain procession in the time of lent: penitensya and pagbasa ng pasyon. In this time, we have time to reflect and pray to have discipline on ourselves for little things like not eating any kind of meat. For us Catholics who have many beliefs and practices, Lent is one of the most beautiful parts of the year, here we seem to return to the time where the events that we are just describing actually take place. Here we live again together with the lessons brought by this story, Lent serves as a look back for Catholics where the Filipinos, mostly men, do penance, some carry crosses, nails, and blood will be drawn. For me, Lent is something that I should not lose as a Catholic, because of this, even if I don't know that much, I can participate in the activities during Lent.
