Jeremy, I have been struggling for so long to be a great husband, a father, and son. I grew up as a Baptist in church and nowadays find myself as a non-denominational because I'm not a fan of labels. Besides prayer how do you handle life as a husband and father and not become so strict where my wife and kids don't wanna even be around me because I'm apparently a strict father. I take things from my kids, I am sturn, I put my foot down to discipline but get back talk. I don't lay a hand on my children but want to be the best father and husband I can be?

This song makes me think of my dad. Several years ago we found out he'd been lying to all of us, undermining out trust and love, treating us like we were disposable, and endangering out safety. For years. Of course, once we caught him, it was all apologies, I love you so much, I'm sorry, you mean so much to me, I'm going to be a better person. But I don't trust him. I wonder if the man he's been will come rising up in him again, if his past sins are really as far as the east is from the west. Sometimes I fear I'm just one step away from him betraying me again. This song doesn't take away my doubt, but... I find a bit of solace in it.
