Sharing our journey to have a life full of magic and creativity. My name is VR (Val) Janis and my daughter is J Janis. We are Anishinaabe artists and authors. We aim to share little known aspects of our rich culture through storytelling and inspire others through our art of magical creatures. On this channel, you’ll find us sharing stories, lore, facts, language, and art in our quest to gather knowledge on the Mythological, Supernatural, Paranormal and Fantasy found in lore and cloaked stories told around campfires around the world. We share our advice and knowledge to break the myths around running an art business, being artists and authors, and how we use bullet journals to stay organized in our business.
You are very welcome to our channel! ♥ We hope you will enjoy our videos! ♥ Chi-meegwetch - Woplia Tanka ( Big Thank you) for watching our channel.

I share setting up creative journal pages in my current planner - which is a Harry Potter discbound planner. I always wanted to visit the witches and wizards and see Hogwarts. Since I didn't get the chance, I thought I would do a theme of magic with my favorite color. This whole year is trying to navigate my way through using this planner and sharing my journey. regardless of the format, your journals are beautiful. I dont get a sense that they are overwhelming...it is just you coming out on the page. Beautiful!
Thank you so much, I love journaling and sharing my designs, hoping it helps someone else. I am thankful for all of our community.
This was interesting:) I have a question; How do you use your decoration in your monthly plan? Do you, for example, use stickers to mark where something will happen that you are looking forward to/r excited about, Or do you use stickers where there are empty space or maybe some free time/holiday time that you are looking forward to? Oh, and one more thing: I seem to remember that you had such a gr8 system in one of your earlier episodes, about your house- chores. a system for tasks to be done like daily, weekly, every other week, and so on. Can't you get that into your new BJ? Love your videos! <3
I will answer your question in my next video but I use thin washi for events and stickers for important days. It is funny you mention the chore list because I was thinking of bringing it back. Thanks for being a part of our community.
cute
Thank you
Brilliant
Thank you for doing a truly budget-friendly journal for people to get started for just a tiny investment. You’re a gem
I am glad you enjoyed the video
Wow so good thanks for sharing 💝

Love how you transform something so simple into your own creative planner.
Thank you so much!
Amazing 😮
Thank you
nice presentation :)
Thank you
Really nice. Love the vector art.
I admire your simplicity and creativity. It is a very inspiring idea, which removes "perfection" anxiety, unlike with those expensive journals.
Thank you. I think no matter what journal you use, anxiety should not be part of the process, especially about perfection.
How is that dangerous
1 slip up and your arms and shirt are covered
Batik stains really easy and I have spilled the entire bottle before
Also it is addicting- white paper is not enough anymore.
I love the Pokemon theme! You and J drew so beautifully the little lovely creatures. I´m glad to see that everything turned out so well in the end, even when you had such a rough start. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you - it was fun to create and I have stickers to add to any blank spots throughout the month.
so real 😭😭
yess, i love using tabs! even simple bookmark stickies that poke out work super well. i love your aesthetic!
Thank you
maybe next time put a cardstock paper behind the cover page so you don't waste any pages. just thinking... loved the ideas thank you
Thank you, that is a great idea. Could also use sticky notes, or colored paper for a design to cover it up.
Really creative ! That’s awesome ! Now if only my add would allow me to actually fill out and follow ?😂
Thank you. I understand, sometimes it's hard for me to fill out parts too, but I keep trying.
Your voice Is so soothing and calming
Thank you
cool video!!
Thanks!

Gorgeous. Fantastic and one of the best videos I’ve seen on this so far. Thank you.
Thank you
You are so clever! This is a really nice idea! I must duplicate!!! Thank you!!!!!
Thank you. I would love to see what you create
Genius. TFS
You are so welcome!
Suggestions for 23 in 23: Walk/ ride bike to work Depending on work: 23 projects with 23 ppl or same person 23 lunch mix 23 different lunch places/ activities
Those are great suggestions, thank you. I don't think I could add walk/bike to work as it is about 20 20-minute drive one way, but I definitely like the projects and lunch ideals, especially for a work 23 in 23.
What a clever idea! I don’t know about the current Hobonichis but I was gifted one maybe 5 years ago & didn’t like the weight of the book, plus my gel pens smeared on the paper. Love the new idea to combine two composition books!
Thank you
Great job
Thank you
Bic 4 colours is my favorite pen! Thanks for sharing!
Mine too!
Very nice, so true you can do a lot with out expensive supplies.
Absolutely! It is fun to see what can be created.
That looks awesome! great job! :) Thanks for sharing <3 <3 <3
Thank you for being a part of the journey ✨️
Nice job!
Thanks!
Do you have any videos where you talk during the setup part? Like to explain what you are doing, how many bix grid squates are used for each monthly box for the oage with rhe mobthly calendar etc? The math part messes me up. And i was a math major but my brain just refuses to do this. If I get it right, I'd probably trace it and use it to trace future pages I have an A5 dot grid and a standard size composition book to wirk with. Already gluing the comp book pages together
You are making me spoil the surprise lol😉 I did talk in past videos but stopped for half this year, but I am going to start back in and change up the video layout a little next month I will be posting with the the sizes of boxes and all the details of the setup.
@@vrjanis-inkedscrollmyths oh good, thank you. I need it explained in plain language. I just saw the neatest thing on how to draw a map. The lady took dry rice and spread it out on a paper. Arranged it the way she liked with islands etc. Then used a fine pen to trace around the grains of rice and land forms. Removed the rice to use again or to eat. Then she drew in mountains, rivers, treasures villages etc. sea monsters. It was really cool.
I will try my best to explain my process. I love organizing and planning, and enjoy sharing with others. I like making maps too, but I don't use food, I use seed beads or other size beads or even just doodle the designs.
What brand is the "this" one? Watching on a tiny phone so if it's supposed to be visible i cant see it. The ruler stencil looked Interesting. Can you dtaw little animal shapes with it!?
The brand is SEQES, and yes there are little animals on the ruler, the ruler I received has a horse, rabbit, elephant, leaf, penguin, giraffe, teddy bear, and hearts.
What notebook are you using? Thanks. Love the music you chose for this :)
I am using a vivid scribbles dotted journal.
@@vrjanis-inkedscrollmyths Thank you!
You're welcome, I like them. They are pretty good journals and reasonably priced.
@@vrjanis-inkedscrollmyths I ordered one. Thanks again!
I hope it works as well for you as it has for me. Good luck in your journaling journey.
I really enjoyed your video ❤
Thank you so much! I was so excited to share my new journal.
Nicely done!
Thank you
What a fun theme idea! I hope you continue to love it all year long. :) Also, I totally agree. It looks like a moth. It's beautiful, but it doesn't look like a butterfly.
Thank you, I like to do yearly themes and figure out each month first. I hope I continue to love it too, I think I will, each month will be completely different. Okay two votes for the moth, thank you for agreeing.
Brilliant!!! I'm starting to feel really stupid for spending the money I did on journals I'm STILL not using!! (I have serious procrastination issues and/or I've always enjoyed thinking of a project but not doing it.) The good thing is, journals (even dated ones) can be used for so many things as well as the future. Thank you for some really creative ideas!!
I am glad you were able to gain ideas. As you said there are a lot of things you can use journals for. Good luck with finding uses for those journals.
Beautiful
Thank you
