QuickBooks itself is PCI compliant, but that doesn’t mean your business is. That’s what these companies do is certify your practice. Do you need it if you never take credit cards? Not able to say.

It sounds like the payment was entered twice or something like that. An open invoice report might reveal the real payments and the you can work on applying them correctly. Reach out to us on QuickAnswers and we can dig into the issue together.

@@schoolofbookkeeping Yes, I figured out that I opened the account as a bussiness and not as an accounting firm with mulltiple clients. I was able to contact customer support and get it changed. Problem solved.

What payment processor are you using? with QB Payments the fees are recorded "automagically"

Whith all other processors, if it is a net deposit (Sale minus the fees) you will need to enter the fees as a negative line item at the bottom of the deposit.

@@Doeyhead you certainly can - you just need to resolve the difference to account for the fees

@@schoolofbookkeeping Do you think thats what the error is referring to? Do you know any way to extend it if it is indeed that? Thanks for pointing that out, didn't even think of that. The error just said unknown exception and then the error code 1009 and I can't find anything online about this error.

In most cases, 1009 means qb is not running. So I would see if your power settings are set to “never” to make sure qb isn’t quitting on you. Hope that helps!

That’s a great question. I know there is plans for Commerce, but that remains to be seen. Time will tell. It would make sense if shopify pos is part of the commerce roll out. As soon as I know, we’ll have an update.

What kind of issues is it causing for you?

@@schoolofbookkeeping My sale report from square shows Cash, CC, Gift Card, & Other that was collected for the day. The Credit card column is the total collected including sales, taxes and tips, but does not break them down. Same with the cash column. There is 2 additional line items, (Tips & Taxes) but that just shows the total collected as well. Not sure how much was on the CC vs. Cash...… Therefore, it does not allow me to get an accurate number at the bottom of the sales receipt to match my actual sales.

I think I see what’s the issue. The sales receipt should actually be for $0. All the accounting is handled on the sales receipt.

Hi Tracy, That's a good question. You have an annual limit, you would just need to figure out the math of the match on that employee's situation. If the employee's salary is $100K then their contribution is 25% or 25K. If I'm following you, the maximum match in a year would be $6k (or 6%) You could then divide by the number of paychecks figure out the per paycheck contribution. If you implement the annual maximum you could even set the contribution to match and the annual maximum will stop calculating when they reach that maximum
