Sorry, I am not sure what the pinout for the QYT KT-8900 is, without looking it up. You might need an interface type of circuit. Hard to say without digging into it.

@@GMRStwowayradio thank you for your interest. Since no interface will be used, the connection is VOX. Correctly? I have set the ZELLO to gate mode and saw the 2 options, but I think VOX will be used. I am interested in the connectivity from 3.5 mm to RJ45 with some way to activate the PTT. I need this if you have time. Thank you!

@@besttips1582 - yes without an interface board vox will have to be used. I have never played with vox using the gateway, but it should work the same way does the radio have a VOX setting in the menu?

i am not sure what you mean by "dual" you mean two mobile radios as a repeater? anyway it will work with any repeater as long as the radio/handheld can be programmed to that repeater freq.

@@DelightfulToucan-sl2xu hum i am not sure what to say? It's working here just fine. i just checked it again. I do notice when using computer speakers, it's a little low. But it's still loud enough, well on my computer that is. but when i was using a computer i did have to turn the volume all the way up.

it's solder onto shaft collar one on each side meaning one goes to the GROUND/mount of the SO connector and the other one goes to the center/tip of the SO connector, it being a shaft collar this is how it's adjustable by losing the Allen wrench screw on each side.

It also helps with the 50 ohm impedance matching too

no, this sound card has TWO 3.5mm jacks on it. The 2.5mm would be on the handheld radio speaker out jack.

@@GMRStwowayradio thanks. I think I figured it out. I found a picture of one with N-type connectors and it looks like it is 3 high and 3 low.

@@yqtszhj ahh yup that makes sense, it being a 6 cavity. The more I think about it now, there are 6 screws so 3 high and 3 low.

Yes it could be, but it would of course depend on what type of message it's playing and what volume level that message is set too.

yes, if you get the BCR-40 DU model. And power after duplexer 38 watts however I have had it higher ( 50 watts after duplexer) BUT bridgecom does not recommend doing that. it's 100% duty cycle at 38 watts!!

Like I said in the other comment when FCC is called they say yes it can be as long as it's not using phone copper wire network internet is ok. and truth be told no matter what is said people will still do it. Case in point, there are MANY link GMRS networks ALL over the world using zello or not using zello there are still linked.

@@GMRStwowayradio it looks like the fcc is starting to take some action on this. They've shut down a few systems around the country.

Some maybe would need to check, most better radios can do WFM or NFM

I used 1/8 steel rod ( as the video shows) with no problems and seems to work well! I would say try it and see how it works!!

If it's autotune from retevis then I would leave it. 1.7 is not that bad, anything below 2 is ok! I am guessing you brought the fiberglass base/repeater antenna?

Hum if I recall I think it did a little bit. I don't think it was very much.
