Guys, I have bought one of this last week and if you install the app from the (!)..store and try it, it won't work. You MUST install the app using the QR code provided. Power on you wheel and place your smartphone close to the throttle. Now make sure your Bluetooth from your phone connect to the Motor ID. For me it takes a few seconds. ( I have iphone 7 plus). When it's done, the "connecting.." warning stop and you can start set up your wheel. What is relevant is mistake in some settings. Wheel size is referred as "ft" instead of "inch". Set your wheel diameter ans don't mistake. Next, set "magnetic series" to 56 or something. This setting is important because if setting wrong, you'll not have your full throttle and it will affect your mileage. Goodluck. You know that you 'll have no way back. Only forward. If you want to try the throttle, roll the wheel first and press the throttle. When you want to stop, press it two time. I'm not sure I accept the "scrap product" qualification. Did you open and take a look in it? I don't but a german guy (engineer maybe) has done it. I can assure you that this thing is impressively made. Far from crap. Yes, the marketing and servicing is absolutely chinese and far from western standard. They don't like manuals and blah blah! they don't care about spare parts etc. Price and mass market only. True. Full service is expensive. Funny isn't it? Don't buy it if you think your homework is not sufficient. Beside, our westerner engineer are far capable of mastering this design but nobody import this stuff because it's too low priced.Nobody got paid less the chinese guys, Keep smiling.

I have similar issue too. My phone also doesnt scan the bluetooth connection. Also I tried to ride without phone assuming that it will work. It didnt work. I have asked gear best for solution. Let me see what they will do

HEY try with other phone to connect via bluetooth, works for me on HTC desire 816. all my other phones cant read blue tooth to wheel. Trust me, try with other phone!

Ask Banggood if there is a "system reset" to go back to factory presets. Only use this system as pedal assist and ditch the throttle as it demands too much power from the very small battery.

I happen the same as you and I will send a Bluetooth module to replace it, I recommend you ask and hang a video of how to dismantle it because I'm looking for a video where it explains but I find none
