Hey there, My name is Damon, and I'm a ferroequinologist (or railfan for short) based off of Eastern Michigan, and I've been into this hobby for over 10 years now. I grew up and still mostly railfan in Genesee County, near the CN Flint and the CSX Saginaw Subdivisions, but I also do a lot of travelling to railfan (For example, the Downriver, MI. area, Ohio, and much more!)
But that's what I do and where I like to do it! So if you're interested too, stay tuned, and subscribe if you have some time!

A Busy Sunday For CSX In Deshler, OH. - 6/2/2024 Railfanning
(Featuring @southernmichiganrailfan9841 and @michiganrailfanfilms353)
So here's the rest of the catches I got during my Sunday outing to Deshler with my 2 friends, and I can, and yet can't say I'm surprised with what we all got here. This place was pretty busy for a Sunday, since I guess North Baltimore had a field day of sending out Westbounds from the yard over and over again. And from that, we managed to get quite the handful of different shots and trains, ranging from crossings, diamonds/junctions to our favorite spot for photos under the old CPL tower just south of Deshler on the Toledo sub, and for cool units, we got a KCS unit on a Toledo sub-only Northbound manifest as well as the Spirit of Birmingham, but that was about it. This railfanning day was more into the quantity of things than the quality of things, lol. But I guess with that said, I hope y'all enjoy this one
Location, Date & Time: Crossroads Railpark, County Highway Road 3C, and Various Railroad Crossings, Deshler, Ohio
Sunday, June 2nd, 2024 From 8:00 AM To 3:45 PM
Subdivisions Railfanned: CSX Willard, CSX Toledo
Camera Used: Canon Vixia HF G60 (w/ Rode VideoMicro Shotgun Microphone)
And that should be all for now. Thanks for watching!

A Very Fast NS Coke Train Rolls Through The Twp. Highway 1 Railroad Crossing, Near Leipsic, OH.
zhlédnutí 61Před 9 hodinami
So here's the other video from my Sunday outing that I decided to post separately, and this was a rather neat one for a basic train like this, in my personal opinion at least. So after me and my 2 friends who I was with at the time gotten word about something cool coming on the NS Fostoria District, we headed over and started waiting for it to show up, and during the wait, we got this random bu...
Sterling M-10 Siren Sounds off While a Train Is Passing! - CSX Grain Train Rolls Through Deshler OH.
zhlédnutí 64Před 9 hodinami
So basically, this was one out of 2 separate video clips I wanted to upload from my outing to Ohio on June 2nd, and I figured this one was decently interesting to post about. A CSX Grainer Rolling Through The Willard with the Sterling M-10 Fire/Tornado siren sounding along with it! And this may just be common occurrence for this little town due to the fact that this place sees a lot of action a...

(Featuring @RoyalKingOfTheRails, @southernmichiganrailfan9841, @RailfanDK2023, @k.c.productions and @rizenascar) So on this night (from the 31st onto the 1st), I came down to Romulus to meet up with some buddies of mine who were all also over in the area railfanning, seeing what they could get, also to try and stay up all night to see what happens overnight! So on this night, I decided to go out with a good amount of friends of mine after i got out of work, while they were all out in Romulus doing an overnight session here to see what they can catch. Obviously, I didn't stay out as late as the rest did because I had work the next morning, but I still had fun hanging out with them nontheless. (Featuring @RoyalKingOfTheRails, @rizenascar and @trainsofsouthwestmichigan03) So this day was quite fun to say the least. On memorial day of this year (which was really cold for a may day, unlike last year's lol), Me and my friends James and Alex have been tossing around an idea to visit Schoolcraft to do some more South Bend sub railfanning, as well to see if we could also catch Grand Elk dur...

Although I may or may not overhyped this video a *little* too much, since it is after all a little underwhelming on how this turned out, but where it is anyway. My first siren video I've took in over 5 years! Filmed with my new Canon for good looks, and shotgun mic for audio, me and my buddy James have managed to snag this 50's era (or 60's era..) Model 5 siren doing it's daily noon blast here ...
US 131/Grand Street Railroad Crossing Tour, Schoolcraft, MI.
zhlédnutí 284Před 14 dny
So here's the final crossing I decided to tour in Schoolcraft for the day, and ironically enough, it's the central crossing of Schoolcraft that me and the boys have been railfanning at for 85% of the day, and despite these factors, this crossing even had a few funky flaws of its own, as mentioned in the video. Odd backwards light wiring (w/ a mix of Safetran incandescents and LEDs), a very shor...
6th Street Railroad Crossing Tour, Near Schoolcraft, MI.
zhlédnutí 293Před 14 dny
So here's another neat little crossing I decided to tour over the Schoolcraft area on the South Bend sub, and this one really interested me for multiple reasons. For one, it's another late 2000's CN Install with US&S gate mechanisms, Harmon uniform fading LEDs and the corresponding bell wiring (which this setup also may have replaced a couple of crossbucks in the past most likely), but as for t...
(Odd & Sick WCH E Bell) CN M399 Rolls Through The Portage Road Railroad Crossing, Vicksburg, MI.
zhlédnutí 194Před 14 dny
So, this was definitely an interesting catch, in multiple ways So first things first, this railroad crossing here obviously has some funky stuff going on. The WCH E bell on the other side is pretty sick, and seeing a WCH E bell on CN is already weird enough, but the bell wiring however, is even weirder due to the sequence of the two combined, with one shutting off while the other keeps ringing,...
Portage Road Railroad Crossing Tour, Vicksburg, MI.
zhlédnutí 208Před 14 dny
So the next crossing on the list was just further east from where we were in Schoolcraft, right in the outskirts of this little town of Vickburg, and this crossing really caught my eye as well. Not only this has a mixed era of CN Equipment, this also has a rather interesting E bell to mention, a WCH Type 2 that's.. very sick, lol. As well as some odd wiring and other oddities. Definitely one of...
14th Street Railroad Crossing Tour, Schoolcraft, MI.
zhlédnutí 246Před 14 dny
So the next railroad crossing on the list that I wanted to tour in Schoolcraft was this rather interesting setup I found on the CN South Bend sub, located just east of the CN/GDLK diamond, and this features some more oddities than just your typical Safetran/Siemens setup. This features some neat Harmon LEDs and some cool gate arms also by Harmon.. on one side. But still, this was a neat one to ...
Eliza Street Railroad Crossing Tour, Schoolcraft, MI.
zhlédnutí 270Před 14 dny
So on this day (of memorial day as of when this was recorded), me and the boys decided to tour around Schoolcraft and catch some stuff, and this crossing caught my eye. Although me railfanning on and checking out some crossings on the Grand Elk railroad is long overdue, but here it is. This crossing in Particular really resembles the setup seen at Newburg Road In Carleton, boasting some Safetra...

give link to that google maps thing you are using
this crossing is interesting, ive noticed when the train is on an outer track that the lights in the center do not flash
A banded railroad crossing. It’s a Delhi Ontario,Canada the Main Street one you’ll have to travel back to 2018.
Dude I know a crossing you should do one in Delhi Ontario you’ll have to time travel to 2018
Nice catch! Good ol sterling making her voice heard while a train was passing!
Good catch! I just caught metra 500 today at roundout when I went railfanning today, it's on my mind channel if you want to see it.
2 in 1 that’s awesome! If only Schoolcraft was that way lol
Congratulations you found 1 of many extremely rare mechanicals bells in service
I cannot believe the amount of grain trains that ran that day. Craziest part was 54K
looks very familiar
Hows your red pickup doing? + Good video as always

@XavierTheRailfanner_ no I don't, trainz took up the funds for that lol
I rode this whole excursion for the whole day and it was a lot of fun and I vlogged the whole trip but unfortunately I won’t get to make my upload till mid July since it’s a three part video
Nice, I want to see if I can get the 4/5 Port Thunderbolt in Grosse Pointe Park in action
Spastic.
Great video! Fun fact, Robert and I were the only ones that completed the challenge to spend the night there. I slept for an hour and woke up to a meet between CP and NS. Robert slept for about 6 hours. I was also greeted to 1973 (Chessie System HU) on M511 that morning at 8 am

Check out 299 Judson Street near Colton, California. to see the crossing go back to 2011.
Hello I’m the Flint sub railfan I’m a new channel that just started six days ago I rail fan in Michigan such as Durand
2 signs that say "STOP ON RED SIGNAL". The drivers there must be racing through the red flashing lights...Where I live, when I am stopped at a red traffic light, I have to look left and right when the light turns green. Because of drivers racing through red lights.
You must have a good memory for all of that INFO. I would have to carry a script in my hand.
The one signal has the typical CSX Columbus Sub Bell wiring. The other signal has the typical Holly sub/Flint sub Bell wiring
I’m very happy to hear that the six chime on 765 is still tuned in her 90s vibe sounds amazing
What a great steam locomotive! I was chasing it too! I was in a blue hoodie!
Amazing catch!
Sweet video! I chased 765 on the 16 of June and was also able to catch NKP 358 leading twice in Jonesville Michigan.
I chased that day southbound after I chased 1225! That video comes out at 7 Friday! I also edited all the footage on Kinemaster too!
The Nickel Plate Road SD9 topped it off. Awesome catch
You should check out the Woodrow Avenue railroad crossing in sinking spring PA, it’s a very interesting crossing with a Western Railroad Supply mechanical bell, and a General Signal type 2 electronic bell, I believe, it’s a very cool crossing
Over here in Homestead/Munhall Pennsylvania there was an abandoned spur that lead to a warehouse that was paved over years later
is this the first siren video?
You have filmed at every spot I’ve been to, aweosme catches and this brings back memories for me 🥲
It was a good Day for sure gonna miss Railfanning with you guys home to see you trackside!
Your video didn’t turn out as bad as you sounded when you were telling me. Glad we got this test on video
I caught a few trails at this crossing but not yet on camera though
10:05 Might have to fix things up, I actually done some deep research that, Erie Mining Company has multiple stop sign crossings. The video shows the different crossing compared to the one you’re viewing. I looked up Erie Mining on CZcams, a video in 2002 shows the crossing you were viewing. So you’re correct of what the line was owned by, you just got the wrong crossing in video, just wanna let you know.
Shoolscraft!
Nice catch
Thx
Your welcome
19:55 when he really gets mad
cool to see one of those old signals still on CN
This crossing has the typical CSX Columbus Sub bell wiring
yep
The W in WXY Ave stands for west.
I know.
Few things to note here. The BNSF signals were installed in May 2008 replacing WRRS signals and FS Company pedestrian gates. BNSF did this style install with 3 other crossings in town at the same time which also replaced WRRS signals and FS Company pedestrian gates. The UP signals were installed in September 2002 replacing an EM signal and a 1970s Safetran signal that was actually installed in June 2000 replacing another EM signal when UP removed the old connection track that was in the crossing. The lights on UP are 1st Gen WCH LEDs and are still the original lights to the crossing. Similar to BNSF, UP replaced the signals at 3 other crossings in Rochelle at the same time in 2002, and all of those featured EM signals as well. The display signal at the end came from the BNSF crossing and not the UP.
Thx for the extra info. And i know it obviously shows that I wasn't able to go out of my way to do the extra unthought-of research for the details (in which sometimes i have trouble finding help for said research, but at this time i was running on some very limited time to film some videos lol), but I appreciate most of y'all doing it for me anyway. I've already received some comments about what used to be here, and I thought it was all pretty interesting. And yeah, at the time I did think that the old displayed crossing signal by the park/museum was one of the old UP signals because there was a UP Emergency info sticker on it, but I guess it was just on there because the UP line was literally right across from BNSF lol. But quite interesting stuff here nontheless
@@Damon810Railfan It helps a lot that I had been coming to Rochelle since 1999, so I got to witness first hand the changes that the crossings went through in the last 25 years.
Ngl, it is, indeed, a pretty cool crossing. Someday, I'm going to have to join you again for one of these crossing tours, in order to get an idea of how to really identify the historical value of the railroad crossings I run into. Ever since I first heard about crossing tours, I find it fascinating how railroads handle crossings on certain parts of their lines. As always, thanks for sharing this enjoyable video, Damon, and God bless you, Brodian Brotional! 🎩👌🏻 ~ Joseph traininyourwalls 202406141407
Thx man, i try to put detail in these videos whether or not I know about it, and then again it does show on some video that sometimes I can't do simple research on some things that I didn't even think about in the first place lol
Grand elk leases. They own zero track in the lower peninsula.
Well that's interesting, I was after all under the assumption that GDLK owned it due to the DOT tags and the fact that NS doesn't even send that many trains, if not no trains at all over here anymore, like how Lake State railway leased the North part of the CSX Saginaw sub past Wixom and how I&O leased the CN Flat Rock sub south of Flat Rock yard, but I have had many argue with me which railroad takes over the name of the road, the class one that actually once ran on it or the railroad that runs on the tracks today lol
CN has very few WCH E- bell units. I only own two of those units.
