I'm so glad this was helpful! Both sofas have a really beautiful aesthetic. I don't think you can go wrong! There are some companies that sell custom covers (Bemz, Comfortly, Comfort Works), so if you weren't loving the fabric feel, you could purchase another separately!

I haven't made ice cream in a very long time, but I might have to give that a try next time. I also realized it may be helpful to form the ice cream into a cylinder, freeze it, then slice it like cookie dough to out between the cookies. Lesson learned! Great question - I forgot to mention! My best guess is the bagged composts I put in the raised beds. At this time, I have not seen signs of or been able to extract jumping worms from any of our other flower or vegetable gardens, so it must be something I put in the beds and nowhere else. Unfortunately, even bagged items can get contaminated when sitting on the ground at garden centers. Now, I know to solarize bags before use (ag.umass.edu/landscape/fact-sheets/invasive-jumping-worm-frequently-asked-questions#:~:text=what%20is%20solarization%20and%20is%20it%20effective%20for%20eradicating%20jumping%20worms%20and%20cocoons%3F%20how%20does%20it%20work%3F) but there is no guarantee! 😕

I have used Coast of Maine lobster compost, but I’ve also incorporated several other amendments so it’s hard to identify the culprit exactly! The cocoons could have just been sitting in the bulk soil we used to fill the beds last spring and just now hatched 🤷🏼‍♀️

We love our Vimle for everyday use. It’s super comfy and modern in style. I think the Hyltarp is great for a sitting room or small space if you’re going for a more polished look. It’s more firm, too. We love both for different reasons!

It's still pretty firm with the exception of the spots I sit in regularly. That said, it's not our everyday couch - if it was it would probably break in and soften a lot faster. It's holding up very well and we really enjoy it. It is on the firmer side, so if you prefer squishy sofas, this may not be for you. The firmness helps keep the shape of the couch so it doesn't look slouchy/worn. I was very set on a certain look and this sofa helped me achieve that for a more affordable price. Great question! Peat moss (often listed as "sphagnum peat moss") is a decomposed organic matter harvested from peat bogs. It retains water very well, is sterile and has a spongey texture that doesn't compact which is why it is such a desirable growing medium. However, peat moss is effectively a non-renewable resource because it takes thousands of years to form. I'm always looking for more ways to be sustainable, so if I can get my hands on something peat-free, that would be my choice. One popular alternative is coconut coir, so I'm hoping to experiment with that this coming year! Hello! Great question! Some of the pieces are on the larger/heavier side. I did have help getting them in the house. If you feel comfortable, and have the ability to shuffle the big boxes around (I kind of shimmied them into place), you can absolutely do it! It did take me a few hours, but I just popped on some music and took my time so I didn’t overdo it (and followed the instructions correctly!) IKEA instructions include simple diagrams only (no text), so if you haven’t assembled IKEA furniture before it takes a minute to understand the instructions. Once you get the hang of them, they’re very easy to follow! Keeping those things in mind, I think anyone can build this sofa! 💪🏼☺️ Hope that helps, thanks for watching!

Hi! I did not have any issues with mine - be sure you are installing the hardware into the correct holes. There are several holes that aren't used for assembly (depending on whether or not you have the chaise). I hope this helps!

Hello, I have finished building it. Gosh it is rock hard but advertsied as Extra Soft? Has yours softened since you bought it? We sat on one in store and it was so lovely and soft! We also went for the same colour as you. It looks beautiful but my god its not comfortable :(@@ThePlaceWithGrace

Ours is also on the firmer side despite being advertised as extra soft. In my experience with IKEA sofas, they do break in. We have had our other sectional (VIMLE) for over 5 years and it's much softer than when we originally bought it. We prefer firmer so when they break in they still have support and don't lose shape!

I would describe this as more of a warm off-white color! It hasn't softened much yet, but it's not our every day sofa and we have only had it for a few months. Breaking in usually takes time and regular use!
