This video should blow up, interesting!

The qualifer (MK) for "Marks" usually means there is a pen or pencil writing on the card. It very unusual for a modern card, but for vintage back in the day (before there was grading) people would, for whatever reason, write stuff on cards. Back in the 70's, my little sister came with a brilliant idea to write her name on the back of all her Star Wars cards, just so everybody would know they were hers. Ouch! So, I'm not sure those divots are the reason for the qualifier. I'm sure you didn't write on the card, but you didn't show the back... could there maybe be some stray mark on the back somewhere? From just looking at the Swift card, I can tell you for certain that it will not get a 10. The centering is pretty far off top/bottom. At 15:08 ...if you look at the thickness of the blue borders on each corner... the top is twice as thick as the bottom. With centering like that, you're looking at an 8 at best. Add in any other issues... it'll just drop the grade further. I send around 2000 cards a year to PSA, and honestly... that centering tool is a waste of time. Not saying you shouldn't use it, but it's not difficult to eyeball 60/40 or better centering. Some card designs can make it tricky, so you just have to know what to look at. I see a lot of videos where people have focused on the left/right centering (it naturally stands out more), but they pretty much overlook the top/bottom. I find it helps if you turn the card sideways when evaluating. PSA has damaged only a handful of my cards in the past. Fortunate for me, the cards they damaged weren't very valuable (under $20 raw), so I just took the hit. In most of the instances, the damage was done during the "sealing" process. The card wasn't completely inside the grooves when the two slab parts were sandwiched together, and it crimped the card along the side. It was obvious to tell that's what happened, and I probably could have filed a claim, but just didn't wan't to mess with it. If one of the cards had been more valuable... I would have. The biggest mistake I see people making when evaluating cards to grade... it's not looking at the back of the card more closely. Scratches, divots, and even hairline creases seem to get overlooked a lot. People are quick to blame a bad grade on the grader, but most times it's because something was missed by the card owner. I've had lots of instances were I've cracked & resubmitted a PSA 9 that came back as a PSA 10, and even had a few PSA 8's become PSA 9's... but usually when a modern card grades a PSA 8 or lower, there's a good reason... significant imperfections. Anyway... like the video, and good luck with future grading. Just be careful sending in those $1-$2 cards... where even if you get a PSA 10, it's still not worth the grading cost. In those situations, you're better off just buying a PSA 10.

try resubmitting cards without serial numbers. They might have records of serial numbered cards that's been graded. There are videos that show different grades after resubmitting

Awesome video man! I had the same problem recently got back an order some 7s and 8s luckily hit a numbered mahomes gem 10 to save me. I think it’s a combination of PSA grading a little harder and Panini having poor quality lots of tiny dimples in the surface right out of the packs pretty lame

I have seen worse and I feel your anger because these companies seem like they do not care about the collector.

Lots of factors that go into grading, edges, surface - damage and cleanliness - corners, centering can all ding your cards. And if you're sending RPA's just expect an 8.

Your cards look pretty dang good.. I've submitted 40 cards to them recently and I think my cards are decent enough to get 9s or 10s but now watching this got me a lil worried. I want to say you got the same grade back just because your cards are numbered. I'm pretty sure they keep track of stuff like that. Anyway, thanks for the video.

Awesome Mcglaurin Patch. Rough grades my man. PSA can definitely be brutal at times. Was the one of one a purchase or pack pulled? Possible the seller altered the card or used Kurts Card Care. They are looking for that now.

I just got my first submission. out of 20 cards, 17 psa 10, 2 9s and a 8. I sent different various cards to make it a bit interesting. To me personally it makes a bit for fun for the grader. and yes PSA do give 8.5 but thats the only .5 I have a 90's insert that 8.5. Enjoyed watching your reveals

PSA sucks. SGC or TAG is the only way to go.

Some help/thoughts - I don't know how you examine your cards before you ship, but if you're not using at least the following, you really need to. Get a really good light and a magnifying glass or eye tool (similar to what you'd see a jeweler use). Have a microfiber towel with you. Really look over that card. PSA will not clean off smudges, and it counts against the grade. CGC on the other hand, will clean something obvious off. (And I'll tell you this, an old green CGC slabbed 9.5 is cracked and upgraded to PSA 10 a lot by me). Back to the point ... they need to be really clean. Tame expectation on relic/auto cards. I expect 9 at the highest on both. I'd never send one to PSA. SGC is the relic/auto place to be for me, unless I'm absolutely certain it's a 10. You're grading a lot of Panini. Please do not take offense sir, but they're tough cards if you don't have a great eye. Lot of dimples. Smudging. Pain in the butt. I have sent one Panini ever to be graded, as I've only ever bought one box. I hit a Downtown in a Diamond Kings box. PSA 10. Sold it. I actually canceled my PSA membership and just sell raw cards now, but I only sent to PSA if I thought I had a 10 grade. I hit 94% on 10s. Only had one ever below a 9. Got an 8.5 back. Cracked it ... fingerprint. Sent it back, 10. Hope this helps.

Someone most likely used a black sharpie to make the corners look better. It is common on black edged cards like this. You can typically tell if the ink bleeds through the card stock, the difference in gloss between the card and marker, or a black light will make it obvious. People are so worried about cards being perfect GEM 10's, that they will even ruin a 1/1. Condition of a card like this should be secondary to the serial number.

I agree I’ll have 15 cards to send in that I want to, then the 5 “fillers” to make a 20 card bulk will get 10’s while the ones I really wanted 10’s on choke

I think 75% of the cards you sent in were losing you money even if they gem 10. Unless they were for your pc.

I’m just giving honest feedback. When you send die cuts and thicker cards you can’t expect all 10s.

I believe recolored means that a corner or an edge that would be white due to chipping was colored in with a marker making it seem like the card is in better condition that what it is. I think it’s mainly seen on vintage cards.

Recoloring would be adding ink or dye to cover whitening. It bonds with the cardstock, especially on edges Found that on reddit

Recolored means that PSA thinks you altered the card. That’s the “error” or the reason why they did not grade it. “Recoloring” cards typically comes with vintage cards to restore them, like if a blue or red becomes faded with age.
