We will not be silenced, SDGG tells UN Committee
The Self Determination for Gibraltar Group has told the Committee of 24 it will not be silenced or bullied.
Chairman Richard Buttigieg said Gibraltar is in a very difficult situation through no fault of its own, having to leave the EU despite 96 percent of its people choosing to stay.
He said the Spanish delegation has made all the right noises publicly, but has insisted on certain measures which would be unacceptable to Gibraltarians.
Mr Buttigieg said there is no need to have uniformed Spanish police exercising any form of control on the Rock, so it is simply a ploy by Spain to get their foot in the door and advance their sovereignty claim.
He said as guardians to the right to self-determination, the Committee should be telling Spain the rights of the Gibraltarians are enshrined in the UN Charter.

Treaty of Utrecht 1713, Gibraltar sovereignty referendum 1967, Treaty of accession 1972, shared sovereignty referendum 2002. No Gibraltarian worth their salt would want to be Spanish. As for “land grab” erroneous as your statement is, Gibraltar was ceded to England, as were multiple sovereign territories where “grabbed by Spain, point in case Ceuta and Melilla which you know by your statement should go back to Morocco, and I guess we should not mention the pillaging of the americas and a couple of places in Africa. People of Gibraltar do have a say in their affairs a the Uk fully back their wishes to remain British. It’s a Fact.

Best infrastructure in Gibraltar of the last 10 years easy
A great idea and a safer way for cyclists to move about Gibraltar. Gibraltar has been behind in the way of green transport initiatives, and this is a step in the right direction. Looking forward to a similar cycle lane plan for devils tower road to allow safe transit for cyclists and families to the eastern side of the rock.
