One of his fellow musicians remarked it would piss him off when after studying the piece for hours Chet would nonchalantly merely read over the chart and declared he was ready followed went on with a seemingly natural offering and a courage's soul to play through pain. Driven to prove the doctors wrong he went forward to stardom and lasting fame.
240 p video, so sad for such a masterpiece. My funny valentine is one of my favourite song ever and this one made by Chet is probably the best I've ever heard with the Sarah's Vaughan version of 69' out of dozens and dozens.
Precisely! ...It's music from HEAVEN! ...No other way to describe it. ...Chet brought feelings from deep SOUL and HEART, and expressed them in the highest musical artfulness.
Just watched Miles Davis-Trumpet, Herbie Hancock-Piano, Wayne Shorter-Saxophone, Ron Carter- Bass, and Tony Williams-Drums in France, then came here and it was just as good czcams.com/video/fBoHkB92SU0/video.html
Impresionante.
Every once in a while there is an artist who is (as someone said about Pavarotti, "Kisses by God"). Chet Baker was one of these artists. Too bad he allowed his life to be ruined by drugs. Still - an maestro in the highest sense.
To think Chet was struggling with addiction most if not all his Life, and was quite near the end here, and STILL could perform like this shows the SuperHero he was and continues to be in my daily Life.
all I can say is WOW, with tears down my face, Chet in Paradise
Che forza Chet ❤
Maravilloso

you are right, he died not long after this
Thanks behn.. I love mr baker Greetings from Perú
Wasn't he just THE best?
If, Charlie Parker, was the King of, Be-Bop, then, Chet Baker, was the King of Cool-Bop !!
Perfect. Like he plays from another planet or universe to us. Just perfect, almost holy.
Not holy - Bakery!
Music like this is addictive once you get a taste for it. I could listen to Chet Baker for hours.
Late night baths with lavender salts, candles and wine, and Chet...ahhhh!
