Independence from austerity
zhlédnutí 115Před 10 lety
The Westminster parties are all committed to the failed policy of austerity. This video presents news clips and public lectures where they make this clear. Better Together paint the picture of independence as being uncertain and too risky. However, the certainty of continued austerity attacking the poor will drive this country to a collapse in social order. Only Independence can save us from th...

    The most interesting question about the union between England and Scotland , is that the English people allowed the Scots the right to take the piss. The English people and nation are not a bloody elephant, neither are they a bunch of Southern parasites. Indeed, it's getting late, will you please Scots get off England's back. We don't need you, in fact, we have enough of your moaning. The only hegemony the English wish to practise is SOUTH of the Tweed. In sum, Scotland history, is a history of failure. Please go, we English would be grateful.

    Professor and Sir Tom Devine is such a brilliant historian, author and lecturer and deserving of the utmost respect. Watching the disrespectful smirks of MSP Ruth Davidson really showed her lack of historical knowledge or care for her own country from a Scottish perspective separate from Westminster and The Union. My ancestors were from Scotland, some from The Lowlands and some from The Highlands who emigrated over to Antrim, Ireland and continued back and forth between Antrim and Scotland before immigrating to The Colonies and Canada. Some were Whigs turned Jacobite between 1715 and 1745-46 and who’s lands were confiscated for supporting The Bonnie Prince Charlie during The 45-46 Jacobite Uprising. Their lands and estates were bestowed upon The Duke of Argyle and they fled to Ireland. I have possession of a particular family document that recounts these terrible struggles they endured. I’m very proud of my Scottish roots and I have visited every chance I have had. I truly love Scotland, the rich history and culture, the people, the land and my deepest regret is that my direct ancestors left under dire circumstances of which must have been so dire that they crossed an ocean on rickety ships and no idea what was on the other side of the sea. Scots must educate themselves and appreciate the wonderful country that is Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

      @shelleyphilcox4743 Před 2 lety

      @Sidney Pedroso You are wrong. Scotland was the colonisers. England was ruled by Scots monarchs, starting with James VI, House of Stewart, in 1603. He designed the first version of the Union flag. He founded the first permanent colony...Jamestown. His Grandsons started the Royal African Company and Charles's II granted the charters that saw the East India Company become a private virtual state around the world. The charter allowed them to have a larger army than the state, go wherever they wanted, make treaties , war and peace, mint their own money and administer criminal and civil justice wherever they established themselves. The Scottish Stewart's created the conditions and first global companies with the power of nation states. You should watch Tom Devines address the the Scottish Parliament about Scotlands role in empire, colonialism and slavery...you will find it enlightening

      @@sidneypedroso3415 In all fairness I would say that it is a long and complex history. People imagine, from the narrative, that England randomly invaded and subjugated Scotland for hundreds of years and it is absolutely not the case. That's not to say that there are not some considerable challenges because of the vast difference in the population distribution between the UKs constituent countries, with England being around 56m, Scotland 5.5m, Wales 3.2m and Northern Ireland being 1.8m people. Scotlands land mass however is only just a bit smaller than Englands! It does create disparity if the only way you see things is on a nationalist rather than unionist basis. To balance this, manner areas of government are devolved to the national parliaments in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. England doesnt have it's own Parliament and the MPs from all the other countries can vote on England only matters, but not the other way around it its devolved. Westminster is the Parliament for the UK where joint matters are decided and it also serves for legislation passed for just England...but everyone can vote on it! So whilst the numbers where people live are very different, other countries get a say over England that England doesnt get over the other countries. That is also not very fair...but no one talks about that very much at all!

Not a criticism I like to pass on tips to help people improve.Also try getting hold of fruity loops software. With that program you should be able to get near studio quality production on your voice and mix in incidental music to give the sound pro quality.Fruity loops is also really easy to use.Use that in combination with Sony Vegas to sync the sound and pictures.You try and that is the name of the game.

      Opium was illegal in both China and Britain. Yet, the British East India Corporation, the first International Corporation of its kind, bribed Chinese officials, rebranded Opium, calling it "Longevity Medicine". The East India Corporation had backing from British Monarchy behind the scene. Once they got the Chinese hooked on Opium they smuggled it in huge quantities. During that time China had the world's largest Economy, it was not until Opium that the British managed to eclipse the Chinese in economy. Chinese silk, Chinese Porcelain, Tea, spice from the Spice islands were highly sought after by the Europeans. Magistrate Lin ZeXu captured and burned British Opium, the British then started the Opium Wars.

    Imperial and governmental entities have long sought to control the sale of Hallucinogenic substances, at the risk of plunging millions into addiction; the British East India Company profited immensely from selling Opium to the world’s largest consumer market: China. The practice once lucrative to the Crown has now been adapted by Capitol Hill, and enforced under the guise of a "war on drugs" which is a racket that has persisted unabated since the Iran-Contra scandal. It has been well documented that govt. entities have trafficked the very drugs, their policy deems illegal; to funnel currency obtained for federal appropriation. The Reagan presidency, most notably flooded many neighborhoods within the U.S. by sale of narcotics extracted from Central America; to fund and arm Contras against the "commie" Sandinistas. Has America's memory faded if we've already forgotten Oliver North's testimony, the crack epidemic we thought was only in the inner city, the shipment of missiles to Iran, and the armed insurrection of Anastasio Somoza's U.S. sponsored authoritarian regime in Nicaragua; to which FDR once remarked " Somoza's a son of a bitch, but he's our son of a bitch." Now, the U.S. military in a warped sense is fulfilling the claims of Smedly Butler, and has been sent to nationalize and expropriate Iraq's Oil reserves; along with securing Afghanistan's lithium mineral mines and it's poppy production which is now at 98% since invasion so it may then be synthesized into pure refined Heroin!
