After Quarantine Shaving
zhlédnutí 184Před 4 lety
When the "shelter at home" order went out, I decided to do an experiment. I would not shave or cut my hair the whole time the order was in effect. Now that our county is beginning preliminary early phases of opening up again, I figure it's time to end my little experiment. My wife never did like me with a beard, so she's very happy as well. Happy 51st Anniversary, my love. This is for you.

John Williams Concert at the Hollywood Bowl - 2013 - Hooray for Hollywood Montage
zhlédnutí 3,9KPřed 10 lety
This is the first five and a half minutes of John Williams' concert at the Hollywood Bowl on August 31, 2013. Opening with the National Anthem, he moves on to "Hooray for Hollywood" with a montage of scenes from classic movies. I'm sorry for the poor quality of the video and the noise that the lens makes while zooming in or out. My little point and shoot camera did its best.

Bellagio Fountain Show
zhlédnutí 61Před 11 lety
This is a part of the fountain show that the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas puts on every 15 minutes in the evening. When this started I took a couple of still shots and then started recording the video, so it's not the full song, but it's enough. (Jan. 9, 2013)

Michael Gets Some Air
zhlédnutí 370Před 12 lety
During a family weekend in Bend, Oregon, in December of 2000, we went to do some sledding and inner tubing. Michael decided to try it without the help of either sled or inner tube. The hill was covered more in ice than snow that day.

Whittier Blvd 1986
zhlédnutí 174KPřed 13 lety
I shot this in 1986 with an 8mm video camera. I just drove up and down Whittier Blvd. in East Los Angeles a couple of times with the camera running. The old Golden Gate theater was still standing at the time, and the Whittier Blvd. Arch was still fairly new.
1986...Uugggh! America was already a massive sold out shitshow by 1986. Nothing to see in 86' worth seeing.
America was already a sh!thole by 1986. Sure as hell was nolonger any remnants of the 50 or 60s, not even the early 70s.
Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful
Home sweet home
Looks so different now. 💯
wish I knew about the culture growing up so close to there in sfs. I would’ve spent much more time in LA. My dad is from east LA and met my mom when she got here from Mexico at 18 y.o. Living in the IE now but this makes me miss living closer to LA. (I’m only 20)
loved it
I grew up on these streets.. The Tommy's burger joint on Eaperanza st and Whittier blvd were bomb af! The chilli fries were so good as well😋
Uh-oh..it got worse, not better, and we used to like this song!
It was a shitshow in 86 that just got worse.
No homeless what's up with that
There was only homeless on skid row back then. They're everywhere now.

To many mojados f-up our communities, don’t believe me take a ride down to any city in LA with, an overwhelming ilegal prénsense. East LA is one of the city’s ! Por que why?
Looks the same 😂
ITS NOW 2022 AND THINGS HAVE CHANGES MUCH
ONE DOLLAR CHINESE FOOD
I was 4 years old in 1986 and now i live on these same streets shop at the same stores in this videos wow amazing
Was a better place & time
La McBride Ave/Whittier Blvd that’s the spot. Few dare to enter and if you did you better have had some family living there
Ford Maravilla?
What a magical time. Shitty cars, shitty clothes, shitty pelos 💇♂️ and not a frown around. People were actually contentos... complete opposite now
You’re right, a lot of incredibly rude, miserable mal encarados. Decency and honor are not really a “thing” anymore, it’s rare. I wonder what happened to make people change?
@@Rosemary-op3rz probably the internet man. shit be brainwashing people
That was a good year I was 26 married serving the lord 🙏 asking everyone if they would accept Jesus Christ into their hearts 💕!
I grew up down the street from Whittier Blvd. In the M projects. Changed just a little. Haven't been there for a few yrs .
What years?
I grew up in Montebello in the 1980's and I remember Cronis the hot dog (1' 47 " in the video) stand being better than arry's burger. But not by much. Actually Arry's had better pastrami. But Cronis chilli dogs were amazing.
Everybody knows Arrys is king over here!
Oh wow!! I you can almost say the golden years of ELA. I lived in ELA since the 70’s finally got my own place some where else.
Cool music. Was looking for my dad's hardware store 3828 E. Whittier Blvd. by Salazar (Laguna) Park. Video does not go that far west on the Blvd. but still cool video!

A 💩 hole of a town now Soto white spot to Garfield Blvd.
Wow, La National, La Popular, Johnson's market, boulevard theater, Alameda theater, golden gate theater, pacific national bank, musical latina, silver dollar. I miss the old days. It's all gone.
Ghetto!
Went there nothing special. Just gangs
Food was good down there
Takes me back to my cholo days when I used to be a gang banger😎
Dropout or what
Glad you no longer are because they are a cancer to Boyle Heights. If only they would be wiped out, this could be an amazing neighborhood. But they are a dealbreaker and because of them it remains a place you live in only because you can't afford to move out.
I was living in Santa Fe springs at this time. My school actually took us on a field trip to the Norwalk jail, great day
$1 Chinese food
most of the shops i see don’t even exist
Solutions
😢😢😢
@1:18 - I remember all those Dr. Gettas flyers in the mail / rolled up rubber-banded to the fence. Ha, the little things that will take you back.
The only thing that changed is the price of Chinese food.
I miss the 1$ Chinese food LOL
Thanks for the video. Do you have any video of Whittier Blvd and Alma st.? A friend is looking for a shot of his father's hardware store.
Sorry, no.

I was born in 1968 and I’m from Bay City Michigan and I moved to LA by Santa Monica in 1986 when I was 17 years old, and I remember going with an old friend named Emilio who’s from Holland Michigan and he was an old roommate who just moved too, but he had an aunt and uncle who used to lived in Boyle Heights LA by Whittier Blvd and Boyle Ave near the 6th street bridge and me and him we would get $1 Chinese food and it was bomb, it’s sucks now we lost in touch in 1988 when he moved out and got married and I stayed at the apartment until 1992 when me and my wife got married in 1996 and bought a house in Beverly Hills CA, it was fun those memories I even took my wife to get $1 Chinese food lol I just wish I would see Emilio again but I don’t know where the whereabouts he his haha and now I’m 52 years old
