I've just realised what hamilton meant by "politial sacrifice" bro was one petty mf and hated John Adams ad his guts fr, even if they were of the same party. yes, at the times love affars at the time, expecially in America, were a huge deal, that's he covered it with big bucks to the husband of his former lover. he avoided people voting for John Adams and his own party by destroying his own reputation to the pubblic. this is not political sacrifice, this is political suicide. there's sanity in Hamilton's madness.

Even if it's probably the least historically accurate part of the musical, I am in low with how Lin-Manuel portrayed Hamilton and Angelica's relationship, and this song is the peak of that. It portrays Angelica's grief, anger, disgust, heartbreak, and most of all her focused, deadpan message that she nails into Hamilton's head: That he's selfish and the only way to even get close to making up what he's done if to dedicate himself to Angelica. Because she deserves better. Even through it all, Angelica makes sure to make this song about her sister instead. Meanwhile, Alexander Hamilton himself, a master of words and politics, is left stuttering excuses even he knows aren't true.
