When your friend says there's a good window for Yellowtail with low wind, 63-degree water, and a mild current... you gear up and go! After finding an ideal reef with pinnacles and a steep drop-off from 50 to 100+ feet, we swam to the head of the current with blacksmiths and halfmoons swimming around. We were stoked with an unexpected 60+ feet of visibility, along with the lively presence of sea lions, a sea turtle, and black seabass!

This sounds weird but how do I change out the bands if it isn’t open muzzle?
We use a wishbone inserts and join the wishbone after passing them through the muzzle.

Any tips on how to secure the slip tip when using cable?? If you use the same method you used in this video with cable it kinks the cable on the slip tip. I was just recently in Bali and visited Andres shop to buy some new shafts for my 150 and seen the shipment of guns coming your way at the moment. Some beautiful guns about to hit your shelf’s!!
Hello! Thank for your for reaching out. I use a light line (about 1.5mm thick) and tie a constrictor knot on the cable, just in front of the slide ring. Then use this line to pull between the line anchor and your shooting line like normal.

Matt, the bands are really supposed to overlap like that? I’ve been loading my top bands like a traditional gun so they lay flat. Farthest one first.

How do you find the Andre Roller? I just picked up the same gun, hoping it is ok for dogtooth tuna. Does it shoot the 8.5mm shaft ok?
I love that model. I use the Double Roller for all of my tuna hunting. The inverted 145 does great for fish under 150 lbs. The Double Roller 160 is better for the bigger fish.

Started in Samoa. Learned a lot from Andre in Bali and dove with some guys out there. Learned a lot along the way through lots of different divers.

Do you ever struggle when equalising whilst going deeper then usual?
Is it hard for you to equalize? At what depth? I don't usually have an issue unless I have a cold or something. I don't spearfish beyond 100', I don't find a need for it here. There are different techniques for guys diving deeper than that.

do you prefer the float line or the reel? im a reel type of guy yet I haven't yet shot something large enough in the kelp for it to get messy on me
I prefer reels for white sea bass. I've never seen a fish spool the entire reel, but I have seen it happen to other divers with fish like amberjacks. I have a 70 meter reel with 246ft of dyneema line. That's a lot of line!

the pole spear method for angle shark is shoot the in the head and grab the tail, gut them and filet from the inside out.
