28th October, marks a significant day in Greek history of which in 1940 Dictator Benito Mussolini gave the Greeks an ultimatum to have their lands occupied by the Axis forces or go to war.
The reply was one word. "OXI" - NO.
Subsequent Italian forces invaded and were defeated causing the Germans to divert from their preparations to invade Russia and invade Greece.
Commonwealth Forces later assisted and fought bravely in Greece.
The rest is history. Happy OXI day.
