    I find VERY HARD to believe that you spent $2500 for 27 solar panels (about 400W each, total 10,800W). That comes out to just $92.60/panel with ZERO installation, racking, rapid shutdown etc... which usually adds 2x-3x the cost of the panels. Also just the QCELL 400W panels brand new go for $200/panel. So maybe you bought them used and locally with no shipping and you have them lying on the ground rather than installed on the house roof or with ground racking (which can easily add $3000 just for the racking & hardware). So I think a more realistic cost estimate for 27x400=10,800W should be used instead of the totally unrealistic $2500.

      I did actually luck out on 9 at 50 or 60 bucks. And the rest were in the 90-100 range I actually have 24 panels. Just kept searching fb marketplace daily and I’m in Texas a more solar friendly state and I spent 6 months accumulating them. (Got lucky the same type kept showing up) Plus cables some conduit clips critter guards etc. I do still have the cost to do the diysolar ground mount I haven’t included yet which will definitely be around 1200-2000 dollars of materials plus my labor time I didn’t include as that part of the project needs to be completed once I finish removing the tree that blew down during the Dallas storms. I still plan to finish that part up before I release one about just the solar part of this install ☺️

Or maybe you tried to install it yourself and as you know warranty does not apply on the SHP2 >>>WITHOUT<<< proof that the SHP2 was NOT professionally installed. BTW, this ONLY applies to SHP2, not other Ecoflow products.

    Hi William. As you admit your self in this video, you don't actually save a lot of money -- but honestly, you actually do save a massive amount of energy (you went from 41 kWh to 16 kWh. that's 39% of 41; that's over 60% energy savings. that's massive.) -- my question to you is why did you choose this combo heat pump unit over traditional washer and dryer units? You're in TX so I don't imagine you're tight on physical space for two units of washer / dryer. I do like the energy savings of heat pumps but your cleaning routine after each wash is way too much work for the average female. It's a lot of effort after each wash. I would understand it more if you did live in CA and paid 35-60 cents / kWh for electricity but at your rate of 15 cents there's no real need for a heat pump washer/dryers. I'm not against this tech. I'm just don't see a real need for your use case.

    • @williamsung
      @williamsung Před 20 dny

      Hey there For my family we only do three loads of laundry a week or 9 days depending on the season. A athletic, regular, and towel load pretty consistently with a bedding load sprinkled in as well. We are only two with occasional guest so not a lot of loads. So it was easy for us to do it all in one. This way we could fit more storage items into the laundry room for cleaning equipment etc. we also liked if we were leaving we could throw a load in and it would dry as well if we wanted to do a load a day. Cleaning routine wise as you saw in the video was mainly to clean the lint out which for the regular between use cleaning takes about 2-3 minutes. And maitenance cleaning like rinsing the lint catchers was a 10 minute maitenance step so I would say it’s not bad all things considered. The other case for the lower energy pull would be for solar too in our case. As it’s a lower draw than an electric dryer you can play more appliances into a side panel and run off a solar inverter much more easily.

    • @lanceguilin
      @lanceguilin Před 20 dny

      @@williamsung Very good point about 1 load in 1 machine. That really is pretty useful where you can go out and do things and come back to a dried load of laundry. With 2 units, you do have to be there to move load from washer to dryer. That is a VERY BIG PRO! Please do keep us updated on how the compressor is doing. My biggest fear with this machine or even a heat pump water heater is that the compressor goes out after a few years. That would be such a pain. But good luck and best wishes with this model.

    Since the terminology is all over the place. Does it use 5kWh (amount of energy) to boot up? Or does it need 5kW (energy used per second j/s) just to run?

    • @jackwilson9829
      @jackwilson9829 Před měsícem

      Electrician here, does not need 5kwh to start, electric motors can use up to 4x rated current to start up but its only for a few seconds at most. Also this is a split system so the compressor wouldnt be using all 5kw probably more like 2.5-3.5kw which would give a max startup load of 14kw. Side note, the array is unlikely to be able to output what which would just mean the motor would start abit slower

    • @williamsung
      @williamsung Před měsícem

      So the power draw for boot up was around 40 amps at the 240 (I do have a soft start) so the initial draw was probably in the the 8-9kw range and drew a constant 4-5kw with the blower running as well. Inverters and battery powered the inrush

    Your video inspired me to try tweaking some settings on my unit. Have had it on the Dry setting all day. Assuming it’s dehumidifying the air at a much higher level than the ac does? I’ll bring a humidity counter in to see. But it definitely feels dryer and cooler than it did before. I am wondering if I’ve learned a protip! Central Texas is humid, and it will be insane for the next week or so with Beryl coming through.

    • @williamsung
      @williamsung Před měsícem

      Stay safe during Beryl. Yea I had the best results so far with cool and manually keeping the fan on high. The boost didn’t really do anything on my end didn’t see significant change on the power draw maybe a 3-5% increase but would pretty quickly go back to the max draw at 1100-1200watts not sure what’s happening there.

    I am on my third year with this Midea model. I am pretty impressed. It is quiet and efficient. I have one room in my house that will not cool down with the Central AC, so this was a great solution. I thought the install was harder than it made it out to be. What is that netting you have on the outside section of the unit?

    • @williamsung
      @williamsung Před měsícem

      I’m not sure about the jackery you could possibly get regular 120v 15amp charging with a jackery 3000. So 4-6 miles an hour for most Evs.

      @exil3dlivecom Před měsícem

      @@williamsung I'm confused about the 2 chargers you used. Can you still get 18 miles a hour with just 1 charger but lots of solar panels like you did? Or that's only possible with 2 units?

    • @williamsung
      @williamsung Před měsícem

      @@exil3dlivecom so watts work volts times amps. If you have one delta pro you can use 120 volts up to 30 amps which is about 3600 watts real world something like 3000 watts. And if you get two units you can get 240v at 30 amps 7200 watts real world around 5800 watts. Depending on what kind of car for me Tesla model x it requires 5800-6000watts to get 18 miles. A smaller car probably a little less. The newer delta pro ultra can do 240v 30 amp by itself so you would need one unit. For solar panels that’s controlled by something else called the mppt. Which is a solar charge controller and it will direct the power from the solar panels either to load or battery and it also has limitations on how much solar can come in so you cannot exceed that limit the additional power will come from the batteries.

  • @exil3dlivecom
