Hi, what uni do you go x I’ve just started nursing this year and I’m so scared
Hi I went to Kings college London. Send me a DM if there’s anything I can do to help
hey! i know i’m a bit late to the party, but im in year 12 & i’m really interested in adult nursing and i was wondering if you did alevels and (if you don’t mind sharing ofc!) what grades you got! ps, this is such an insightful and interesting video!! x
Hi, thank you for watching my video. I did A-Levels but they weren’t for Nursing as I went uni the first time to study events management and International Business. I firstly studied Accounting, Business, ICT & Communication and Culture. I then went back to college to study Access to Nursing to do Nursing
Wait does placement happen in year 1
Yes it does. I did placement straight in September when I started uni
This was a very good insight of the days shift. What year are u in please? And thank me for the video x
Hi I’ve finished now. In my 2nd year of working as a nurse now
Sarah ❤️ 😀i love how you safeguard ur micropore tape in your ID band 😁...even i do that ...i make sure I have a micropore , scissor , glucometer strip and lancet in my pocket article to save my time running around searching them ......
It’s so handy! However, based on infection control we shouldn’t be putting it on our lancets. It does pick up quite a lot of bacteria
@@NursingwithSarahAleeysha right ....
Where did you get the bag with wheels plz
Hi I got it from a market place. But you can get it from places like Amazon and Ebay
Do not give up!!!!!!!! I am an instructor on utube. Thanks 👍
Thank you. I really did give up. But I’ll be back.
I have just come across your channel when searching to follow fellow nursing students. I am currently completing a adult nursing diploma and I have also gone back to college, with the hopes of getting into uni next year. I have watched a few of your videos and think they are amazing. You seem like a lovely lady and your story is inspiring. I will continue to watch your videos as yours are the only ones I have found that I seem to really enjoy watching xx
do a student nurse gets time to do any part time job?
Hey hun, the course is quite full on, so it depends on if your able to manage. For me I registered as a nurse assistance and did bank shifts. So I worked when I wanted to. So for example, during placements weeks when I might be working Monday to Friday for 4 weeks, I may just pick few shifts over the weekends if I have childcare sorted. However if your placement is on the ward your rostered in 3 days a weeks so you’ll be able to have some extra days to work if you wanted to.
what's the daily hours of college timings?
It varies, sometimes just 1 lesson 9-11. Sometimes a full day 9am - 5pm. I’ll try and look for my old timetable and do a video
this is so helpful to me as a y13 deciding what to do thanks so much!
Your most welcome Wishing you all the best
Hi can you provide links for your bags if possible ?
Thank you for your message. I actually bought my bag at a local market. I’ll try and find an Amazon dupe
Sis I need to know do you need to wipe bum or change people ? I started nursing and need to know because if that’s the case .....
Looooool welllllll …. Yes. Nursing care is holistic care. So not just giving them medication but also personal hygiene to aid quicker recovery and basic activities of daily living. You would usually have health care assistants who are there to do this but we as nurses are there to also assist them where possible.
Melanin@ dnt worry ...you'l get used to it .... 😀😀😀 💩
7:51 same. Little by little the truth starts revealing it's self. I am dropping out. Thanks
Doing first year nursing and thinking of dropping out for the same reason

Hi whats the ratio of male to female in your uni for nursing? Are there a few males taking nursing?
Hey, I’m not the uploader but I’m a male first year nursing student from Australia. Statistically, male nurses make up approximately 9 to 11 percent of nurses world wide, though it would vary between countries. In my cohort, there are a few male students, though, out of a class of 25, there would only be roughly 1 to 3 male students or sometimes none. I graduated from High School in 2020 but most of the male students are mature-aged students (above 21). I only know one recent high school graduate. (Maybe it’s just my uni?). Outside of Uni, most of the nurses I know are male, but only about four. My perspective: To be honest, I’m a bit insecure about being a male in the profession, but it’s not a good enough reason to quit. I’m enjoying my course and what I know about the profession so far. On top of that, there are benefits that come with being a male nurse, such as patient preference; some patients prefer another male during certain procedures. Some male nurses accounted receiving positive attitude from patients and coworkers, possibly due to getting a “break” from the high concentration of females in nursing (not that female nurses are bad, and this is purely anecdotal). And many more. If you’re a male (or female) considering nursing, I’d recommend it. Male nurses are increasing, and we can choose to be part of that increase.
Its very difficult to say but one thing ill say is its very low and we need more male nurses. In my college we only had about 2 males in the class of 30. Women seem to be more interested in the profession than men, and also what i have noticed is men usually go for mental health nursing. But it will be great to have more male adult nurses.
I’m starting nursing degree next month so thanks for sharing. I have watched all your videos to kind of prepare me ❤️❤️❤️❤️
You can do it! Thanks for watching
Amazing! Jesus loves you all, He can remove your pain if you let Him - He did it for me. On youtube listen to “Voice of God” and “As you find me” 😊 And listen to Todd White, Dan Mohler, Kenneth Hagin and Kathryn Kullmann and Jessica joy😊❤️
Can I apply for a nursing apprenticeship from Nigeria?
I believe you can. Send me a DM on instagram and ill look into it for you.
I’m in the same boat and watching your video has really given me the boost and go the access corse
Well done. Thank you for watching
Are you allowed your phone on the ward?
Yes it can be on you but your not supposed to be using it as it looks unprofessional.
Great video very informative thank you 😊
You are so welcome!
Why did you choose KCL over the others? I start in September and I’m torn between Chester and Kingston :(
Hi Caleb, sorry for the late reply. For my KCL is ranked 2nd in the whole world. Its recognised worldwide and really wanted to experience that. I loved my time at KCL and the open day sold it for me. Where did you decide to go?
Hey would you say nursing is worth it??
Yeah
YESSSSSS the 3 years struggle was definitely worth it
@@NursingwithSarahAleeysha mine is 4yrs because it’s an extra yr for masters n I’m not really too sure because of that extra year
@@qi8165 i was doing the masters dropped to 3 years and I qualify next year. My goodness i cant wait! Lol
Nursing is worth .it's a job of humanity ..but only if you are passionate about it ..if not , dnt choose it ...to be honest ,it is one of the most stressfull job but as I said earlier ,if u are passionate and can endure it then you can go for it ....
Great video. I’m an occupational therapist loved how you got to spend time with the OT on the ward x
Awww you guys do an amazing job. It was lovely spending the day with the OTs and seeing how both professionals work together for the patient
Thank you Sarah!
Thank you for watching x
Great video! Interesting to see what student nurse life is like in London! I'm nearly finished my last placement of first year on a gynae surgical ward. Not had community yet- I never realised that a ward-based one could be classified as community! Looks cool!
Thanks for watching x I really community placements to be honest. It’s much more relaxed and autonomous than on the wards. So you learn more clinical reasoning skills.
In terms of pay, one of the things that is quite attractive about nursing is you have ur salary and then have the option of doing overtime with extra pay. I also feel like after 1 year you can basically do what ever you want. Bank, community, research nurse etc so many options. You can also do small add on courses to ensure u get better pay. Not sure if that’s all facts but that’s what I’ve seen through my search so far. I’m on a long journey to be a nurse so hopefully I will be one in 4 years time 🙏🏾
Yes definitely, its very flexible. The options are endless and that is what i love about nursing. How is your course going?
@@NursingwithSarahAleeysha right now I’m doing the access to nursing course and it is abit full on but I enjoy it. I decided to focus on the MSci dual adult and mental health nursing 4 year degree and get it all out the way. Just not sure if it’s a smart choice because it means I will wait an extra year to make money 😩
@@adebankemaggie4871 How are you finding it? I'm hoping to study the exact same course next year :)
AWESOME VLOG & NICE...
