I’ve had that same problem today during live sparring as a white belt beginner of 3 month experience against a 2 stripe white belt. Fool was dying to get submission so he can suck the coach’s dick & on the way to submitting me he legs was hitting my nose constantly during the armbar.

And it's still like that 2023 at my academy. My professor came up under Carlson Gracie Sr and Carlson Gracie Jr and there is absolutely NOTHING given. Come to train, don't worry bout belts and stripes cause the joke is you have to win Worlds and Pans to get a stripe. Some times we have visitors that roll with white belts and them you see them sitting at the side questioning WTF happened cause the whites and blue belts just wrecked them...

I am now a blue belt and I can kick the shit out of anyone except for good white belts and all blue, purple, brown, and black belts

My son has been training with comprido for the last 3 years. They byfar are the absolute best with the kids. The coaches make the class fun and set the kids up for success In competition as well as life.

It's great to hear about these journeys. I found her discussion of positive mantras interesting. To keep myself from getting anxious during tournaments, I tell myself over and over to trust my training and have fun. That Psychology of Champions book sounds like a good read. Congrats, Jessica!
