If you have 100 days on a vessel 78tons and 640 days on a vessel less than 5 tons and over 90 days in the last 3 years. As well as them an average of 8 miles off shore. What does that qualify for? Thanks Neil
If there is a doubt whether the situation is a crossing or not , then the vessel will assume that it is a crossing situation and taken action to avoid collision
@@ManishKumar-ip9lc assume overtaking if not sure weather crossing or overtaking.
I'm trying to understand your meaning when you say we're going "Down" or "Up" as it relates to E and W. Getting ready to watch next problem, perhaps my question will work itself out. Thanks for the video !! I've learned a lot from you.
Disregard. I understand now what you meant. Thanks again!
@@ironhorse3497 Down and up are relative to the wind and not the compass. Up is into the wind and down is away from the wind.

Hello sir, Isn't that for a vessel being pushed ahead are rigidly connected in a composite unit, sound signal suppose to be 1 prolonged when making way and 2 prolonged when not making way as per Colreg.? Rule 35- (f) When a pushing vessel and a vessel being pushed ahead are rigidly connected in a composite unit they shall be regarded as a power-driven vessel and shall give the signals prescribed in paragraphs (a) or (b) of this Rule.

This is the transcript of the ACTUAL radio conversation between the British and the Irish, off the coast of Kerry, Oct 98. Is this only needed for commercial boating or if i wanted to get a coastal cruiser sail boat and travel internationally
What's the cost for the US captain license program and USCG application. Also location
What if I Don't own the boat anymore that I have some of my sea service time on?
2 questions. I live in Montana. Ive deck handed in AK . Can i take this online course or do i have to physically go to a port to take it? And dont you need creditable maritime hours from a outfitter to be signed off on?

The issue I have is with the Coast guard form cg-719p, did my drug test through quest labs in my urgent Care, but there was no way to get the medical review officer to sign the document because they're not in the office where I did the drug screen. The medical review officer is in the lab. So what I'm trying to figure out is how do I get the mri to sign this document cg-719p and then send it back to me? Does anybody know or has anybody done this before on the Coast guard drug test? Please help

Is a vessel that is being towed considered 'underway'? Even though they do not fit the definition of 'underway' (anchored, fixed to ashore, or aground). What would a vessel being towed be considered?? Underway, not making way? NUC? I love your videos; they are helping immensely with my study for 3rd Mate 500 Ton license. Thanks.
This is an interesting question. I would consider it to be a vessel under way and say that it does for the definition of both vessel and underway. Whether it is making way or not would depend on the tug it is attached to. What are your thoughts? I've never been asked this question before.

I am in captain school of New Orleans and they are teach the Rhyme of “ New , rods , catch , fish , so , purchase , some “ they are not putting the “O” at the beginning for “overtaken” like you are . Why is that?
Different strokes for different folks.
2:24 He forgot VCBD, between VRAM and Fishing vessels
You are correct. The lecture is focused on where Inland and International are the same. I do have a video in the playlist that is dedicated to Rule 28 Vessels Constrained by Their Draft. Vessels Constrained by Draft is so small compared to the vessels above and below it that I leave it out for simplicity sake and hit on it like the other nuances in the Rules such as sound signals made by RAM vessels in restricted visibility.
amazing video thank you
Im still confused what should i use times(x) 60 or diveded(÷) by 60
Use your mental math. If you get it wrong you will be way off and your mental math will let you know where you should be. If you convert 45 minutes to hour it will be about .75 hours. It's like looking at an analog clock.
Captain school of New Orleans is teaching me (new , rods, catch , fish , so , purchase , some . Why are they different?
