Muharram is not a month of joy! Why are you wishing happy new year for? The same prophets grandson and his family got brutally tortured and killed in the month of Muharram!
Muslims do not mourn for our martyrs; we feel proud that they have sacrificed their lives for the path of Allah and truth. Muharram is the first month of the Islamic calendar. I urge everyone not to engage in inappropriate activities that go against Islam. Observe the fast on the 9th and 10th of Muharram (as many hadiths suggest). May Allah guide us towards all good deeds.
