I was searching CZcams how to videos in the Fall of 2019 in order to make my home pretty during the holidays and for my grand babies.
In finding inspiration and then creating my holiday wonderland, I was stung by the crafting bug and discovered that I had a knack for creating beautiful wreaths.

DIY Bumblebee Deco Mesh Wreath, using 21 inch and 10 inch mesh and adorable Hobby Lobby Signs.
This Bumblebee Deco Mesh DIY wreath is so easy to make and all of the materials needed are also easily sourced from Hobby Lobby and the At Home Store.
These types of wire frame bases with the fringed ties are usually bought online at places like Deco Exchange, Craft Outlet, Wreaths of Joy etc. But you can make them with the "plain Jane" wreath bases from Hobby Lobby and the Dollar Store.
This is a 15 inch elevated wreath frame from Wreaths of Joy. I started with 21 inch burlap deco mesh using 10 inch poofs on the base. Then I used 3 different colors of 10 inch decorative mesh as accent ruffles, utilizing the woodland ruffle technique. I love the woodland ruffle technique because it hides the raw cut edges of the mesh the best, which helps prevent fraying. It must be noted, if you are a beginner then just know that ALL MESH FRAYS and there isn't anything you can do about it! Unless you painstakingly hot glue all of the cut edges, and who has time for that? Nobody!! Time is money so tie it on and move on!
I used 5 different types of coordinating wired ribbon. 2 styles of 2 1/2 inch ribbons and 2 styles of 1 1/2 inch ribbons for each of the base ties. The ribbon that is thin and isn't really great for dovetailing, I cut to about 13 inches in length and folded over the ends. This is usually some kind of satin ribbon or a really thin cotton. The ribbon that is more "beefy", like linen ribbon, is more conducive to dovetailed ends, so I cut these to 12 inches and then dovetail the ends. The 5th ribbon I used is an adorable bumblebee ribbon that I chose to use sparingly because I didn't have a full roll of it and I wanted to use it elsewhere. So I made this adorable ribbon the centerpiece of the bow.
From there I attached the signs, the beautiful big long tailed bow, accents and voila!!

Honestly, I didn’t like the spiky wreath when you first brought it out, because your ribbons were so gorgeous, but it REALLY looks AMAZING. Just beautiful!
Since you’re turning the ribbon anyway ( ie… you’re not leaving it lying flat ) you could alternate sides OR alternate layers of gold vs. dot & it would look the same.
The plaid ribbons disappeared. Only the red ones appeared..

Where do you get the base evergreen? I love the varied texture and color to it.
When you put the mesh in, do you aim the edges perpendicular to the center or horizontal? Or do you alternate. I am fairly new to wreath making and very unsure of myself.

I know this tutorial was made 1 yr ago, but wanted to tell you that I use a clothespin to hold my ribbon centers down on my Deluxe EZ BowMaker.
If you bought a placemat that’s to big can you cut it down to fit.
It looks easier then filling in with leaves, etc. I finish a wreath, but just need to have something to cover the green.
