“Companionship” - cards & prints
Just back from the printer today, 4” x 9” blank art cards and 6” x 12” Giclee prints with a half inch border. I’ll sell the prints at the Gage Gallery in Bastion Square downtown Victoria, and mount a couple on cradled wood panels as well.
The original painting is 24” x 48” and recently sold at the Arts and Culture Centre in Colwood. This piece contained several sources of collage including marine charts of Vancouver Island.
The birds depicted here are commonly known as Oyster Catchers. These birds are monogamous and breeding pairs hold and defend exclusive territories from year to year, making a nest scrape in suitable habitat just above the high tide line.
My greatest artistic goal is to move others through art, the way that I am moved when I create, offering meaning and excitement through the viewer’s eyes. In my birth place of Victoria, British Columbia, I acknowledge and thank the Lekwungen People for their stewardship, care and leadership on these lands where I continue to live, create and play.

Thank you for sharing Barb! I notice that your paints are so juicy. Have you added a medium into your paints in the squirt bottles?
Thank you for your comment Shirley. I use liquid acrylics by Nova Colour Paint, I order them online from California . I did some research on quality and pricing, and these paints are a third the cost of Golden liquid acrylics for the same quality. Even after duty, tax and shipping it’s less than half the cost.
