SPX 7 DTE 2024 Strategy
📍 In this video, we're talking about 7 DTE trading, which is basically a weekly trading strategy despite the name. Join me for a chat about recent trades, how I've improved my methods over five years, and live trading positions. Throughout the video, I'll explain how to make steady monthly returns by managing risk and using SPX 7 DTE trades, covering stuff like picking the right prices, knowing when to enter and exit, and avoiding big losses. We'll also go over credit spreads, how they work, why they're good, and how to handle them well. Plus, we'll look at what affects profits, like implied volatility and market direction, and I'll share my pre-market routine to get ready for trading. Don't miss out on this chance to level up your trading skills and make more money!
Now, let's talk about risk and reward in trading. Trading credit spreads like SPX can be risky, needing a lot of money for not much return. For example, with 10 contracts at 10 wide, you risk $10,000 for just $65 per contract. But if you're smart about it, you can manage these trades well. Then, I'll take you through some real trades I made from September to October, showing you how I handled them when the market got shaky. By closing and adjusting trades carefully, even when things looked bad, I managed to stay profitable. So stick around as we break down these trades, learn some useful lessons, and get better at trading in uncertain markets.
As we went along, this was a close to a 7% correction, and there are times when markets go down a lot. In those times, you have to cut your losses and move on, waiting for another opportunity. Generally, 5 to 10% corrections are manageable as long as you're not putting on big positions and managing them correctly. So let's check out the performance so far this year. With SPX 7 DTE, I've made $14,000 by trading two contracts daily. Additionally, I trade options on Futures, and my premium trades have also been successful.
So, if you're interested in learning new strategies, seeing your account grow, and finding the right approach, this is the place to be. Join me in breaking through barriers and achieving trading success - it's not easy, but with commitment and the right strategy, it's possible.

    Ummmm , This here is totally misleading and please correct me if I am wrong. Your math is not working out. You received -0.85 ($85) in credit at trade open. You paid +3.25 ($325) to close the debit side of the trade. 325- (85 credit)= $240 paid. You rolled the credit spread to collect another $0.25 ($25) . Now your out-of-pocket is $240-($25)= $215. If SPX never comes back to 4290 by May 2nd- you are out $2500 - $240 = $2260. Your 4315-4290 Short Put spread is ITM below SPX 4290 with the $2500 wide spread and you only collected total of $110. If it does come back and crosses over 4315 you still are at a loss of $215 paid to close the debit trade and minus what you collected. A BEAR CALL spread to collect more credit should have been a better strategy. IMO. Thanks.

    Why not wait until 1030 am and enter an iron butterfly. I then always exit my position at 12 Noon. If volatility increases from open to 10:30am I don't put a trade on. Same with VOLD. If it's higher than 2 no trade

  • @ddroz23
    @ddroz23 Před 20 dny

    I wait until the Vol happens in the morning and take a 20 -30 delta credit with the trend The actual risk is much lower than the delta in most cases. You can walk away with hundreds everyday as long as thereis reasonable IV in the market. placing trades at the open is a direction gamble. except the market to move near any condor position with in the first 90 mins. Vol is not always price action so you can get good deal mid morning and plenty of decay. Much less management. plus you can double the contract later for extra premium. I don't like condors usually bc of Put skew and constant adjustment.

    Hi. Great video. In risk reward analysis , you calculated the risk for the ES credit spread as $437.50. My calculation shows the risk should be $687.50. Here’s my calculation: the spread between the strikes is 15 points (3715 - 3700), and each point is worth $50, so 15 * $50 = $750. Subtracting the $62.50 credit, the risk is $750 - $62.50 = $687.50. Can you explain how you arrived at $437.50?

    Last week on spx i cashed at 60% for 2500. First time in 3 weeks since back testing every day and it exp at 99%. Yes butterfly is hard to capture 100% and it shouldn’t be your TP. Also when you see that you had to risk say 6000 to make max of 2500. If you are on the losing end it lost is not goign to be near 6k unless that day had news and even that wont get to there. SPX has to move over 120 points for you to get near max lose. I been trading live this past week after two weeks back test. I have yet to go red on any of my trades when I close out. Friday was scary because I was up 2500 just to reverse and go red -2500. Glad I was patient because I gave it time to come down and captured 60%. My goal is 55% ideallly and anything more is icing on the cake. The faster it moves to that % faster i close the trade. Now maybe there will be a day where market is very sideways I might take my chances at let it exp. The 3 weeks I observed exp. The lower profit was $900 until this past week. It was a Wednesday before close. Trade was up 70% and ends up green $5. I think I am on to something with how im trading spx and im happy that im discipline enough now. So for the people that say you are risking tooo and the RR is not great, just know its hard to expect max profit and also hard to expect max lost.

    This was a REALLY good video. I have listened to other channels talking about rolling and such, but they did not give good examples. He actually showed each trade and how he was able to widen and lower each time. As a person who started 7 DTE trades 6 months ago, I stopped doing them after I encountered a downward move on 2 seperate occasions. They were nowhere near as bad as what he showed hear. I got outvof each of these from anywhere to $500 - $1000 losses. In both cases the market retracted within 1 week. The key 5o this is understanding what is your statistical advantage. Over the course of a week the probablility of SPX having a 2 x Expected Move (for example 70 pts is low... like less than 10%). And the probability of that happening on multiple days back to back is half of that. And it staying there is even lower. The key is that you roll BEFORE your short prices are breached so you can still get a credit while lowering the strikes and widening the wings. I would advise people to just observe and follow the SPX for 2-3 weeks before starting this. You will get a feel for normal moves. Once you actually trade, do this with just 1 contract and have at least 5k (for adjustments).

In a later video--I think a couple years later--you mention roll when 5-10 away from market. A reason is (I think) a better credit when 20-40 away. I'm not sure if it's intentional, but it's not possible to view the chat replay, so I don't see the link you gave to join the waitlist. Your website (using the link for the trading course) doesn't have a menu to get to the waitlist sign-up form. So, FYI, in case its not intentional... anyone seeing this video after the live stream has no way to respond. At approximately 28:00 minutes, you said you're going to be opening the wait list first week in November, but this video came out on Feb 20th. Does it really take that long (9 months)? And, are you expecting people to pay while they're on the waitlist? You seem sincere and not cheesy like so many who have trading rooms, and I've actually been paper trading a strategy similar to yours and have been profitable. I'm interested in learning more and some coaching, but I would not pay money to be on a waitlist.

      We have never charged for the wait list and we never will. The reason that we open and close the waitlist is because we focus on our traders. When we open the service for two weeks, we help the new traders, get acclimated and answer all their questions. Once that happens we close the service for new members and focus on our traders. We did recently close the service, and we will reopen again in May. Again, we never charge for the waitlist and you can join at any time. I hope that clears up.

      @@SimpleOptionStrategies Thanks for the clarification, Al. I was confused about how to sign up for the service, but I eventually found it. I found the whole process of signing up to be unnecessarily complex and confusing. And I was disappointed that you want a yearly fee for the full time alerts instead of monthly like it's listed on your website.

    Thanks for sharing Al. Do all your kids trade as well? What was your approach in teaching kids about finance in general and investing & trading specifically?

      Only two of them and they both invest for the long term. They are not traders.

    SOS is a phenomenal trade service. I learned so much being a part of the service that I was able to fly on my own. Yet I still get emails from Al that are very informative all the time. Of all the trade services I tried, this is definitely the one I was looking for to find a consistent strategy to trade with.
