Come to think of it, the combat mechanics really take games back to basics. Instead of paired animations, it focuses on hitboxes. These duels, while still cinematic, don't rob the players of their agency at all. Ghost of Tsushima shows us how to blend cinematic gameplay without compromising the other. Even Uncharted fails at this somewhat.
