I remember seeing the clip of Gene Stallings hugging Coach Bryant after his Texas A&M team won against Alabama in the Cotton Bowl Classic & considering that Coach Bryant had coached Gene Stallings at Texas A&M I don't think Gene Stallings was ever so happy. I think winning against Coach Bryant was probably his biggest win until his Alabama team beat Miami for the National Championship in the 90's. Coach Bryant didn't appear like he was expecting a hug or even wanted one after losing the game but that Gene Stallings had so much love for Coach Bryant that a handshake just wasn't going to do is what makes it stand out to me. That hug may have surprised Coach Bryant at that moment but I think that it made him feel a tiny bit better about NOT winning the game.

My cousin played for Clemson 65-68 so he would have played in that game.

It turns out that "The Bear" could have been an Hall Of Fame sports caster too! Unbelievably great man with colossal talent! As always, Roll Tide!

I can remember resenting coach Stallings late that season in the week before the Iron bowl. Bama had some of their star players get in some trouble or something IDK the specifics, but it was my opinion they should'nt have been playing. It was Stallings' decision they could play. The entire Stallings era was difficult for me. I just simply do not like the guy.
