(No one was paid when making this video) I just bought a pair of Turbosound iP300 for our company to work together with our iP2000&3000 column array systems. During our test in the first few days after receiving them, we find it perfect for the job we want them to do. These speakers are great for indoor environment as back fills or delayed tower speakers, and works OKAY as mains in a smaller sc...

My First Event Log--A Conference PA setup

First of all, I just came up of making this video onsite, so this video is not very well filmed and planned. I didn't put our system at the front of the room because it's simply not allowed. In this particular event, we were also responsible for live stream audio and simultaneous interpretation. This is a conference setup with: 1*Behringer X32C 4*Mipro ACT-52 wireless mics 4*Mackie Thump 15A to...
Nice setup! Can you tell me where you found those black foldable protections around the video console/régie? (Don't know the name for that 😁) It seems they atach to each other. Very slick
I made them myself 😂
planning to go with the thump 215XT. want a good bass as i dont use sub. i do DJ for small family parties. what you think about the mackie sound quality, bass and loudness?
If it's just for a smaller space and a smaller crowd...I think the system ( a pair )will does the trick! Quality wise it's worth it, but if you can...u should go get a processor with Measurement mic...after ringing the room, the clarity hits the next level !
I Would Personally Like to Hear The Bass End From 40 Herz on up. That’s What The IPhone’s Says it Can Pick up.
Thanks
They sound very clean, wondering if you have used it with any subwoofers? it has 90hz crossover, and most other brand subs have 100hz highpass, which subs do you you recommend to avoid any intereference.
Hi , thank you so much for the comment, and yes clarity is there for the speakers. As for choosing subs for them, I personally seldom use these speakers as main tops, therefore I din't really have to pair them with sub systems. However, I did tried them with my Mackie SRM1850 18' subs and using my mixer to do the corssover setting, they worked perfectly. If you check out most subs in Turbosound's line-up you'll see that they really have variable crossover function onboard...I guess that makes sense to me because I tried my Mackie SRM1850 subs a few times by using the variable crossover, they didn;t really clear out the high frequencies as much as I wanted... since then I never connect my audio source directly to sub and let the sub does the frequency management then to the tops... Instead, I always use a digital mixer's Mix bus to manage the sub and top, otherwise a audio processer like a dbx PA 2 will do the trick.. So, I'd say set the system like this: "Sound source>Mixer>Tops(L/R)/SUB(AUX out)"might be a better solution...plus you can choose any sub you'd like to pair with your ip300 then. I hope this helps, cheers😉
Yes I agree they are great I own 4 and have used them almost every weekend they are really built like a tank and the battery life is amazing good work on the video
Glad you like them too. 4 of them can do alot of things with great mobility! Thank you so much for the comment! and keep the music playing👍
I bought 2 of those speakers last year and they are amazing. Great work Sir 🎉
Yes they definitely are great portable speakers to work with! Thanks for the comment!
This or alto 15s
Hey I'm afraid that I cannot give you a objective answer on this since I've never tried altos before. After 2years of using them I am still very happy about their performance but are now thinking of an upgrade to Turbosound speakers
I have a pair of these speakers they sounded great! I had it for 5 years now and they still kicking hard. Love my Mackies!!!!
for those who wondering lack of high mids out of the box ,,get a mixer this speaker sounds great.
Tbh i just think people dont know what quality audio is tbh they are called thumps for a reason of course you'll need to eq them for less bass if you dont like it as such as these are made and designed for and to bs used by djs etc who need punchy bass
650 rms..very good..sound ok..average from 1 to 10.......7.....need more clarity on highs and mids...very portable ..😃
If you run them with a mixer you can hear better mids and high's . I run mine with a 7 band EQ mixer and they sound amazing
Hi Benson, is this speaker suitable for home karaoke user? Thanks
i actually tried it for home karaoke. 15 inch is way too overkill for this purpose, and 12 inch is enough. You can also look into Thump Go, which I think can also be a good option.

1st music link?
I love the sound of my two thumps 15A. However, if only switched on, with all volumes at the minimum and no other cables connected yet, they make a quite loud hissing noise / white noise. Is that normal or to be solved somehow? If you play music of course you don't hear it anymore
I've had exactly the same noise on both of mine. Sent them back, could not stand the hissing on quiet parts of songs. Thought mine were broken but now I saw your comment.
@@simonwojtyczka7899 I don't think they're broken. I think they work as designed. I'm hesitating about sending them back (the hassle and I'm without speakers for some time). The truth is, however, when playing /testing alone at home, you notice it. But when playing at a party of many people, no ones notices. The sound and the power are very good, I must say
Sounds like you guys might be double pre amping your signal Remember these speakers each have there own 2 preamps built in. You’ll need to use a 1/4 cable to bybass that if your using a mixer
What is song title 2nd sound test?

It is battery powered??
No, they take 110- 220v. You need to plug into something to power them.
Do you know if it’s more powerful than a JBL Partybox 710?
Sorry my friend, haven't tried JBL Partybox 710 before.
Leider spreche ich kein Englisch 😕 Aber ja dieser Lautsprecher ist das bessere gesamt Paket als eine jbl partybox 710 oder gar 1000. Habe alle getestet 😉
Hi. Just wondering your opinion on the sub. I love mine but after pulling out the driver it was clear the dsp and enclosure was doing the work as my much cheaper alto drivers are better made. I then popped a 1000w bishop driver inside and it hits harder when set to 12 and thumps quite low for a small 18" box.
I persoanlly think they work well for my scenarios. Most of my using scenarios are ceremony, conference, and small band singing. Just two days ago, I used a pair of these SRM SUBS with 4 Mackie Thump 15As for a 450 people indoor singing performance, my client love the sond. I was using a Behringer x32 mixer with M/C out following Master out, all set to unity, and the gain on the SUBS are set to 1 o'clock position(slightly above unity), and I think they work fine. I tried my friend's DRM SUB and Ev subs before.....well consider the price...I'll say it's decent enough for me. However, if you do more dance and DJ stuff in a medium size event, I think you'll need better subs than this. once I tried to run the signal first to the sub than to the 15 tops...I didn't like the sound at all. So, in any subwoofer envolved situation, I now always run the signal separately, LR MAIN to my tops and one independent out to the subs. With proper EQ and gain structure, you can get some good bass frequency from them no problem. As for Alto, I understand it's quite a well known brand in the US or other parts of the world, but sadly not in China, so....so far I haven't seen any Alto dealers around my city. I am planning on having a next level setup for bigger gigs, now considering SRM vcalss +the drm subs. thanks for the comment 👍
@@benson200310 interesting you mentioned running at 1oclock as I do. I have noticed the gain is very odd as it jumps quite sharply in volume as soon as you go past 12 which shouldn't happen on a sub at this price point and after reviews there tops have dsp delays and issues. I find I get plenty of power now with the bishop driver and the limit light is a little premature with no audio distortion even coming close when it kicks in sometimes? ( Probably made to be idiot proof). The variable crossover also has some vocal bleed so I either use the settings for the matching tops which actually gives a beautiful smooth crossover point or go full range out to my Yamaha tops and use there high pass or go full range. This sub is £ 850 over in the UK now which although I like seems over priced and competing with some real pieces of kit. My main goal was to find a light and compact 18 sub and I haven't seen any this size on the market?
Just to add I push it in the red and it still sounds clean with no cutting off etc.
@@thereflexmobiledisco6700 yup, I totally agree what you mentioned here. But for subs...if you want them to be low and punch enough...I really don't think they'll be super compact... Just wandering if you ever heard of a brand call SE (audio technic), I think they're a German brand (like the LD)that makes compact active line array systems. They have quite a lot of appearance in some mid -large (1000 up crowds) size event here in my part of the world. They are definitely more expensive than Mackie, but I do think their system sound quite amazing. You can probably go check them out.
@@thereflexmobiledisco6700 I tried it, but really don't go too far with it.... I once puch it all the way to the limit...than I start to smell something weird.... so...
Is this speakers come with company flight cases
I'm afraid they don't.
Wow Mega sound, thank you for the video Sir.
thank you 😊
I do have a mackie thump bst 15 active speaker can I connect it on my television as a main speaker is it ok?the connections are RCA to female XLR my TV is samsung!sorry just asking if they are compatible..thank you
since they can take gains from line to mic level...I'd think they are able to do that
Can we use this for , studio recording song and mixing and recording plz ans....
Hi there. The short answer is no. The design of these PA speakers are for event sound amplification. What you want to get for studio monitoring are speakers made for that purpose, which features good sound details, flat frequency response. For studio monitor speakers, I own a pair of jbl 305p and a pair of 308p.
Please someone help me I just bought a mackie 15a thump speakers and I plugged it into my numark mixdeck quad and very lower sound coming from the mixer I used xlr cables
What could be wrong
Check your gain is at line in your main volume on speaker set at 12 o'clock position and then adjust your mixer to suit also if this does not work please contact a guitar center for further advice
And xlr is best
Where'd you get the mackie cases? I need one for my mackie subwoofer :(
those are custom made
I'm with you brother.. can I use those speakers 70 people indoors with good bass?
Hi there. This setup is more than enough for an indoor 70 people event. The bass will be there, and the sound quality will be decent.(use music mode on the dsp panel) Remember to drive the speaker louder, so the bass driver can receive enough power from the amplifier. I hope this helps. cheers
Please bro I bought the mixer in ebay and I think the mixdeck quad is bad lower disturb sound my speakers are new mackie 15a thump
@@rodger6940 I would suggest you to record a video to explain your issue and upload to CZcams, so it will give better explanation of the problem to those who try to help. cheers 🍻
No tiene conexión Bluetooth?
Hi, please do excuse me lacking of language skills that i can only guess you were asking about Bluetooth connections on these speakers. for the MACKIE THUMP series, there are normal models with no Bluetooth module built-in, and the THUMP Boosted models with Bluetooth connections built in. In the video, the speakers were all normal models without Bluetooth, and they were connected via XLR cables. Hope this is helpful 🙂
Srm speakers 🔊 Ev speaker
Hello great video👍. ? Do they get hot after 4 hrs continuous use. I'm in hot Florida. I use.to DJ with passive speakers and external ampd. Never had an issue with get hot. I have the alto ts old models built in fan. Trying to upgrade. I know evs overall for price are the best. But I can't afford $499 X2. So it's between Mackie's and Altos ts3 series. What's your opinion. Thanks 👍
Hi Roly, I've used them under direct sun light a couple of times during summer time in Hangzhou, China (so it should be 35-38 Celsius degrees out there), and I haven't bumped into any heat issue so far. It did get quite warm because they were exposing under afternoon sunshine, and mean time my iPad was baked so hot that it went into heat protection mode....those Thumps were still working perfectly. As for picking between Alto and Mackie...I don't think I can really answer that directly because I never hear one of those speakers in person. In China you'll mostly find people going for Bose and JBL. What I can tell you is 2 Thump 15A is perfectly fine for DJing in a venue of 100-150 give or take, and i received only positive feedbacks from my clients. So if you put some extra efforts in EQing them using collaboration mics and RTA, you'll be more than happy with the sound quality. The downside of Thump, persoanlly, is that the sound distribution angle is pretty narrow (too directional, not wide enough) which sometimes makes me using 4 thump 15a to cover wider venues. Hope this helps.
@@benson200310 hey Ben bro thank you much for your reply & info 👍! Greatly appreciate it. Yeah I minus well get the Mackies 15As. I can say for sure the EVs do sound better than Mackie's. But again over $150 more. Thank you brother, stay safe out there. God bless 🙏!
