I am a 60 year old driver and only just passed my driving test for the first time in 2021. I am in no way perfect, but would just like to share some of my dashcam clips - some silly, but also some nice ones too. They are mainly aimed at Learners & new drivers, in how it always pays to look far ahead and to expect the unexpected! I try my best to be considerate to other road users & try to make any incidents a "non-event" Hope you enjoy my channel...... Safe driving out there!! 😊👍

Pointless overtake 🤷♀️
I had just joined on to this National Speed Limit road (60mph) and I was building my speed up, but I don't normally go much over 50 (less, if the weather's bad) as you can see it's all twists & turns and up and downhill, but the Black Seat was doing WELL over 60 which I thought was pointless, as it quickly turns into a 40mph road just before the traffic lights. 🤷♀️

Not sure if this is a grass cutter or just a street cleaner, but surely he should have had his flashing amber beacons on?? Or hazard lights at least? Then a bit further on, I'm stopped at temporary traffic lights and the van driver behind me was checking his mobile - not very clear on the camera, but look at the gap once I moved off 😮

Again - I'm not perfect (I've only been driving for 3 years) but this Clio driver is sh#t - firstly - pulls out in front of me - they would have had plenty time had they caught up to the speed limit - but slowed me down to 10mph - which means they shouldn't have pulled out. Secondly - slight drift to the right before turning left at the traffic lights, and last - doesn't indicate going right at...

So here I am at Tesco carpark again - and it's the black Landrover/Discovery we're watching - Now I can see from where I was that there was an old dear with her walking aid approaching the crossing - why didn't the Discovery stop?? Did they even see her?? Then woman in blue Ford moves out really slowly in front of me, so I have to manouvre around her!! Jeez, I think this heat is getting to ever...

This road features quite often on my channel and it's a road I'm familiar with - so that helps - There's a narrow bridge coming up, where there's only room for one vehicle at a time. So I'm driving through this industrial estate, turning right at the end of the road - and there's a lorry stopped right in the middle of the road (obviously lost) but why not pull over to the left or at least put your hazards on!!

Think the Fiat was waiting to overtake the bus, but was a bit too close for comfort!! Also, as most folks with dashcams know - It is actually closer than you see on screen 😮

Although the signs on the ground are quite faded - there are clear signs/arrows up on the street lamps. I thought he/she was looking for a space - but they just drove out again?? (the correct way this time 😂) And also, please excuse my potty mouth!!

Again - I'm not perfect, but how can you get this so wrong? Watch out for the grey Ford on the left immediately after I leave the roundabout. Glad I wasn't going in to Starbucks at this point - could have been embarrassing for them.😖

I would say it wasn’t pointless as at least now you can keep an eye on them easier in front 😁 Most overtakes are pointless in the big grand scheme of things yet some feel compelled to do it so they can reach those red lights before others

Think this one might be a bit boring for your channel, but if you really want to use it then go ahead, but please don't alter the speed of the clip - as I got a bit of backlash from your viewers on one of my other clips which had been sped up - so people thought I was a tailgater (which I'm really not) so, by all means use the clip if you want 😉👍
You’re allowed to cross the solid white line of a cycle lane to enter and exit a driveway and to enter and exit a side road, is it the same for the solid white line of a bus lane?

even if a person is not as great at driving, was it worth the effort to record and upload this video? you had enough time to brake in the beginning of this clip. shaming other people like that just is not it, especially since you did not blur out their license plate
I was doing the speed limit (ok maybe 1mph over at times, but who doesn't) and I didn't have a problem with them pulling out, as they had time, but then to slow down to 10/12mph - they shouldn't really have pulled out then, should they? Most of my clips are aimed at Learners & New drivers on what NOT to do & to always expect the unexpected & if the owner of this Clio wants the clip taken down, then I'll gladly oblige. Thanks for your comment though 👍
where I live 'abandoned' cars like that get keyed (scratched) all the time 'accidentally' by passing pedestians

Must…get…shopping… I find car parks are one of the most inattentive places for everyone. Pedestrians wandering to the shop or trying to remember where their car is -abandoned- parked. Drivers trying to find that space as close to the entrance as possible. Trolley people trying to keep the trolley train under control Unfortunately I don’t think that will change anytime soon

There are two types of mistakes, the first being a genuine “Oops, I didn’t see that sign” as happened to me when my sat nav said turn left but priorities had changed at the junction meaning no left turn was permitted (aborted the turn before fully committing) and the second mistake is when people know they aren’t allowed but continue anyway. The way they took the corner says to me they are in the second category and probably best they turned off before you reached them and they tried to navigate the parked cars 😁

That's nothing. I exited a motorway in a country beginning with N, and found it strange that all the other drivers were on the right side of the road instead with me on the left. So that is why the steering wheel on on the left..... Luckily no one was coming towards me, or I might be typing this with a stick held between any teeth I have left.

I don't think he was on the phone, but it gave me a fright, thought he was going to pull out in front of me, had my granddaughter with me too! 😲😂
Why do they do what..? Cycle faster than you can drive..? If that was a car in front of you you wouldn't be thinking of overtaking would you..? On country lanes we just join the queue, whether that is behind several cars, a tractor, a horse or a herd of cows... Stick to motorways if you can't follow the country code.
You're missing the point here - I only asked the question to the cycling community, which has already been explained to me. I don't have a problem with cyclists (both my sons are cyclists). And of course I wouldn't overtake on this particular twisty road, as 1. I wasn't in any hurry that morning, 2. didn't want to risk another vehicle coming in the opposite direction, and 3. I got passed further down the road once it straightened out, so all good 😊👍
If it is anything like the little Fiat I owned years ago, the owner is probably scared of turning the wheel too much through fear of something breaking on the car 😁 It does annoy me when people drive on autopilot. Chances are they go through that narrowing all the time without meeting anyone coming through there, so when there is the muscle memory can’t get away from taking the racing line. All your fault of course for being there 🤣 (joking)

Haha, I'm not that way inclined - I only bought the dashcam incase I had an accident (thankfully all good so far), but you do see some bizarre stuff on the roads these days!! 😊👍

Did you not just take the second exit on a roundabout using the right lane? You were supposed to use the left lane for that no?
There is only one lane.
There is room for two at the give way and as the car behind me was indicating to go left, I stuck to the right hand side (indicating right), then obviously checking my mirrors, then indicated left (once passed the 1st exit) & moved over to the left to exit. 😊👍

I had a bird fly into the garage where I worked 10 minutes before closing on new years eve,a long time ago,now. I couldn't set the alarm with the bird still in there,it would set the alarm off. And I couldn't leave without setting the alarm,I wasn't allowed to. 3 hours it took to get it to fly away. My first pint was 11:30pm. I laugh about it now,but I swore a lot at the time.

The Starbucks Driver - A name I give to those drivers who focus on keeping their recent purchase safe but pay no attention to the road. Keep well clear of them 😁 I came up with the name as a Starbucks was built on a dual carriageway near me and the accident rate increased dramatically at that location from drivers emerging when it isn’t clear. I have visions of them holding the coffee steady while looking at it instead of looking at the road they are joining
