The main problem with this kind of show is irrespective of the size of your budget is if you are going to invest in a new boat especially if you are a first time buyer, with the sheer number of makes and their models you have to much choice.
Oh definitely this show is massive but as you mentioned budget will eliminate your options quickly. Luckily most manufacturers are using modern materials and good practices so even going with a smaller brand like I did with my skiff you can get a great quality boat.

Mine has been under the knife as well. TSP cam, ported and polished stock heads, RPM trans and rear diff diff with a 3.90 gear. I just need those CCW classics. Good luck with the build! I’ll start following your channel for updates.

Texted Bobby from skimmer who answered on a Sunday afternoon, telling me he would get me the part number when he got in today. Woke up and there it was on my phone. Great boat and customer service!,,,,,,,
Thanks man Tarpon is my favorite gamefish. I absolutely love my skimmer it’s the perfect boat for me and the type of fishing I do. I have literally trolled passed guys stuck in their mavericks in flamingo haha. She gets skinny like no other boat. Bobby is exceptional he has been to my house to personally install a trolling motor for me on his trips down here to deliver boats.
