Hello everyone! I'm a landscape photographer based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Over the last few years, landscape photography has become a core part of who I am, transforming the way I see the world and becoming my deepest passion.
To put it simply, photography is a vehicle to express myself and push my comfort zone. Through photography, I learned to not only see the world, but how to experience it as well. I hope you enjoy my videos and follow along for the ride!

Helicopter Trip to Some Local Ice Caves - November 2023
Every so often the opportunity comes up for me to gather some friends and fly out to ice caves near Vancouver (well, near as the crow flies at least). On November 24th we did just that! This is a montage of clips showing what the trip was like. Yet again, nothing fancy... maybe one day I'll get some proper video gear 😂 Temperature outside the cave was -7c and inside the cave it was -5c. Surprisingly my drone, just a Mini 2, had no problems in this!
Big shout out to Contour Helicopters for taking us out there again!

Coast Mountains August 2023 - Discovering an Ice Cave!
zhlédnutí 334Před 10 měsíci
A very memorable camping, hiking and photography trip with some amazing friends. We camped on a moraine next to glaciers and a crumbling mountain. Boulders and chunks of ice fell with shocking regularity, at minimum every ten minutes. Sometimes they were so loud it would wake us up in the middle of the night, though our tents were located safely above the fall zone. We explored alpine meadows a...
Flawless moraine pickup in the Coast Mountains, August 2023

Always love doing these pickups with Mike King from White Saddle Air Services! This was my first time doing one on a moraine and I kept stressing whether we were setup well enough for him to safely land between us. The uneven ground and presence of boulders makes it quite tricky and requires keeping things in mind like clearance for the tail rotor. Can't wait for next year's trip with White Sad...
Float plane into Nahanni National Park to access the Cirque of the Unclimbables, September 2022
zhlédnutí 148Před rokem
In September 2022 we finally made a trip happen that had been on many of our bucket lists for a long time: hiking into the Cirque of the Unclimbables for world class camping and photography. It is without a doubt one of the most stunning places in Canada's system of national parks. While getting there isn't hard, there are significant logistics and costs involved, especially if you have to fly ...
Helicopter trip to an ice cave in the Coast Mountains - Spring 2021

Hard to believe this was almost two years ago! Certainly one of the best day trips I've ever done, if not the best. I wish I had recorded videos in horizontal, but unfortunately back then I was just focused on vertical for Instagram stories. We flew from Fort Langley and it was approximately 60 minutes of flying each way. April 20 2021 Contour Helicopters, Airbus AS350 B3

Some videos showing what's involved in a helicopter drop off and pick up. We camped here and everyone had an amazing time. Not shown is that our pickup helicopter was delayed by 6 hours due to fog and low clouds, which is somewhat unusual for this location in the peak of summer. Spent the day waiting around, texting back and forth with the pilots via satellite and using the last of my drone bat...

A very short film I put together from a bucket list trip over the summer, showcasing the beauty of British Columbia's rugged and remote Coast Mountains. For months this place was simply a point on a map to me, so being able to visit for a week was a dream come true. I purposely left this to only one minute long for a contest, but at some point I'll release an extended version with additional fo...

Hey everyone! Here's a timelapse of a photograph that I shot recently. It took me around 20 minutes total to process this image. Lately I've been trying to strike a better balance between doing these scenes justice, creating depth and atmosphere, and keeping things grounded in reality. Let me know what you think! Any questions? Feel free to ask! Tutorials: www.tristantodd.photography/TutorialsH...

I’m 99% sure I also got a pickup by Mike in the same location, I’d have to look at a map though. Do remember where it was?
I prefer not to geotag publicly on social media but my other video has more footage I took from the area. Curious if it is indeed the same spot you went to! Mike said he's not in there too often but mentioned he has dropped people off in the area before. czcams.com/video/Ea8bvuOQY8k/video.html
Different spot. I was whining this was the toe of oval glacier very close to Mt. Waddington. I hope you don’t mind me saying, I don’t think many people are going to be able to get to it. The visibility is pretty bad with weather there so the heli has trouble getting there too. Now I want to know where you were! I’m guessing a different rage entirely after seeing your vid, looks beautiful!
Waddington is amazing, every summer I camp at the nearby pass! But yeah the place in the video is a different location, farther south, about the same flying time as it takes to get from Mike's to Waddington.@@Melanie-Shea
Absolutely amazing caves. Nice that you can land so close. Great vid Tristan!
awesome video!! so is this considered spelunking since the caves are already known??
Thanks for watching! And that's a good question, because I honestly have no idea haha
This looks like a Amazing flight to go up a seeing this beautiful creation
It was a great day, ice caves never fail to amaze, that's for sure!
Love this Helio
Full send!
Gotta get you up here for one of these!
Stunning video Tristan! So incredible to be surrounded by all that beauty! We’re pretty lucky in BC, aren’t we.
Thanks Kelley - we really are very fortunate and I feel quite lucky to be able to visit these places.
So wild up there in BC compared to the concrete jungle where I live in Upper Lower West East side!
The opportunity up here is endless! There's no where else I'd rather be!
💯👍

I just love those greens buddy! Amazing work!! Thanks for sharing!!
Absolutely incredible scene! The processing is top notch and I love how your able to bring out the emotion of the forest!
Incredible scene! Love the processing and natural look!!
Love these buddy!! Keep it up. Your work is so amazing and thank you for the videos!
Such stunning views! One of the most amazing parks in Canada. You're absolutely right about it being worth all the effort. I canoed it in the '90s and was blown away by the beauty.
So crazy to see the scale inside the caves when you showed people. Amazing. Great video Tristan!
Thanks Kelly. I think the videos definitely help put it all into perspective. It also helps show how crazy the colors are!
Awesome work.
Thanks man!
colleague, hey, how incredible ~ farewell-:)
😎 Great staff ,looking forward to review !!! BEST regards....have a nice weekend 👌Let's go....
How many hours do you fly each day ? Let me know so I can be prepared to come along. Happy New year
Hey Bernard! I'm not a pilot, just a guy that likes to ride helicopters into remote mountain areas. I only do 2-4 of this type of trip a year depending on budget. Cheers and happy new year!
Great to move forward on this terrain to keep your Helicopter from rocking
Todd man I would love to be on the control in this Helio or just the ride along in the 407
Definitely a fan of them, especially since everyone can get a window seat if you're flying with 4 or 5 passengers.
That's one stunning campsite!
One of the very best!
🔥🔥 🔥🔥🔥 !
💚💚
Epic footage Tristan! Great video!
Thank you Kelley :)
Wow, that was some incredible scenery Tristan! Awesome work with this video.
Excellent!
Thanks again :) Maybe one day I'll do a proper video to do both the sights and sounds justice
So Beutiful! you gotta put out more videos!!
Thanks man! I do have another video coming, will be a few minutes long. It makes use of footage from this trip and a couple others!
Mind-blowing scenery and ice formations. What range is this is in, Waddington?
Yes :)
Incredible
Thanks Oren :)

Thanks Josselin, much appreciated!
Love your work . Would be nice to see a real walk through with audio so we know just what's going on ( for those of us that are newer at it ) ! Thanks !
I must be crazy because I swear I replied to this! I am trying to figure out a way to add some commentary to these timelapse videos. I am also in the process of creating full, start-to-finish walkthroughs of my edits. They are paid, but if this interests you at all just register onto my newsletter and you'll be notified when I release them (and receive discounts as well). There's a link in the description of the video :)
Just came over from the Instagram story -- super interesting to see your workflow! Also, this video is a great example of the thousands of tiny decisions you have to make during processing. Next time someone doesn't understand why it's hard or why it takes so long, I'll refer them to this video :)
Thanks for coming over 😎 Indeed, and this is what I consider a very brief edit at 30 minutes long! Haha
Awesome stuff Tristan!
Great Video Tristan! I saw it on your Instagram.
Thanks Aaron! Make sure to hit that subscribe button, as I have more coming 😎
Thats great you could see it from Vancouver! I was in Alberta and the show was incredible. Check out my video if you like: czcams.com/video/NtHV7WwSrso/video.html
Yep, it's only visible here 1-2 times a year so it's always nice to catch it. Awesome video you took!
