Ek het so paar jaar terug Way of Kings gelees. Hierdie jaar het ek Words of Radiance en Oathbreaker gelees. Maar ek het die Graphic Audio reeks ook gekry. Dis baie goed. Ek geniet tans Rhythm of War.

They seem to pretty clearly be a scadriel *nationalist society. (*nationalist isnt the right word but their whole purpose is to protect scadriel from other worlds)

The series does hint that bonding is a more powerful form / magic system.

I feel like there are a lot of holes in the Oathpact logic. Why not just massacre all the singers and then you don't have to worry about the voidbringers coming back? There are definitely some moral implications but it is a solution that is never mentioned in the books. Instead they discuss murdering the heralds. If they didn't want to do that then why didn't they prepare mankind for the next desolation after they finally "won" when only Taln died. They could have sequestered all the singers to a particular area and built up their military there in anticipation of when he finally broke. Presumably they could have done this after any of the desolations really. Or they could have even rescued Taln if they prepared mankind for the next desolation then returned to Braize only to give up immediately and return to Roshar to win the war quickly. Also why did it take millennia to come up with the contest of champions idea? Apparently Ishar knows the contest of champions is a thing. Even if all the heralds were broken from endless cycles of war and torture they could have trained up a champion. Also why didn't the original knights radiant consider any of these things or do anything about it? If the heralds were too broken/weak why couldn't the previous order of radiants figure out how to set up a contest of champions or new oathpact? Are we supposed to believe this new fledgling order of radiants headed by Dalinar is going to figure all of this out? Dalinar is kind of dumb. He spent most of his life being an illiterate borderline crazy murderer. They don't have access to all the ancient knowledge that the original knights radiant would have had.

Very well thought out essay However, what of the Portuguese settlers that were colonized by the Dutch in what is now South Africa? Isn’t there ALWAYS a earlier settler to a particular region? Is the rule always first come owns the land forever n everyone else is either forced to: A. Move on to uninhabited territory B. Allow themselves to be colonized by the current inhabitants n assimilate into the inhabitants culture C. Take/conquer the desired territory n force the inhabitants to assimilate into your culture Or D. Enter into total war of elimination/genocide with the current inhabitants with either they or your culture gets annihilated (sometimes eaten… see South Pacific) I hope you can see that I’m not advocating for any scenario… Just laying out possible options for two competing peoples according to historical precedent If there is a scenario I did not think of, please let me know

Good video as is most of the content you put out. I will say though that the VHS overlay is distracting and making it hard to watch your videos. I recently found your channel after starting the Stormlight series because I was looking for more details on that world and your older videos didn't have it and they were great but I'm not sure I can watch more with this VHS overlay. Just my opinion and not trying to be rude.

My head canon is that he's working on rejoining adonolsium (sp?) because he is what was left over after the adonolsium shattered, and why he said no to one shard when he needs them all to be complete again (though, what that means with the dead shards, and everything else i dunno). admittedly, i'm most assuredly wrong, but it's the head canon i have at the moment :) Oh god, the eternal coatrack.

I have a strong feeling what we think we know about his origin is probably stuff he put out there himself. I keep getting the idea he is the original God or has a connection to them.

One thing I always liked about Rashek was how good his depiction had been made. Until the inquisitors and rashek started dying I, who had no spoilers about anything on the series, genuinely believed that rashek was a God. I genuinely though that the inquisitors were immortal and this was largely due to how they were presented. Even mistborn, the strongest people alive, the guys able to singlehandedly kill groups of people alone, stood no chance against an inquisitor. Atium or not, you didn't fight an inquisitor, that was madness. The best they could hope for was running away. And that was only for the servants of the lord ruler, as the man himself was on an even higher plane of existence. Other villains such as Ruin, Sadeas, The bleeder were good, but Rashek still stands as the best villain I've ever seen in all of media. The later character development we got out of him just made an already amazing villain even better.

I think Dalinar dies and Kaladin steps in to take his place, or something like that.

The video sounded like the Lord Ruler created religion basing him as God because he just wanted it. Actually he had to do it. If ge let any religion to exist, then Ruin would alter the religious text over time and make someone to risk their life to release Ruin again. By enforcing him as God, he can controlled what faith and believe people have. Also he had to destroy keepers so that nobody would know what happened and turns against him to release the power again.

The Lord Ruler is one of, if not the best villain in all of media. I went in the first book completely blind and that aura he had of all powerful yet mysterious God was genuinely believable. Until they revealed the nature of steel inquisitors and the Lord ruler I truly believed the characters were dealing with a God, which made the fight scene against the inquisitors so amazing. I actually screamed when Kelsier killed the inquisitor, I genuinely believed those fuckers were immortal and having Rashek knock Kelsier out with a single slap left me more surprised than I could remember being with a series. Holy shit that was one of the best books I have read in my life

If you rationalize TLR into being a good guy you could do the same to Hitler. He was a genocidal piece of shit, regardless of his plans to contain Ruin.

If Kaladin dies and Dalinar loses it will not be a good ending the bad guys win.
