Yep was a sad day when Jonah died, as a former left winger from the same place and same time as Jonah in the counties province of new Zealand I watched all the great wingers David campese being one of them, i played under 21s club rugby when jonah was playing in the all blacks vs south Africa world cup final I remember seeing him on the wing for counties and thinking what on earth is he doing on the wing he's usually a lock or a loose forward, at that stage I was only playing under 19s club rugby, Jonah played that get out of my way type of rugby , a type of rugby that south Aucklanders like to play , bowl them over fend them onto their asse's or step them and gas it , I was trying to be a player to contest against Jonah but he was too good so early , he was huge in high school like 6'5 120 kg I was still built like a boy. That's the thing about rugby its not just up to you to have success the coaches and club culture is a crucial factor , I could do things Jonah couldn't do when it came to physical contact , I was a muscle head freak at a time not many were that played rugby especially on the wing. But I think I was too inconsistent , not a freak of rugby like Jonah, he was about 9 months older , just so unreachable for me so I settled for being a fan
